Sorry for cursing but holy fuck 20 laps climbing up that twisty and incredibly steep block? Damn, I'm not complaining about the straight and small steeps on my rides :O
If you don't sign up months in advance you'll have no chance no matter how strong you are. They line up by order of registration. The year I went I couldn't get a foot on the pedal before the first rider crested the climb.
@@rockytalkndawoods3057 yeah the start is extremely important but by starting at the back, you can see which sides are moving faster and try and pick the best line. Just pray no one crashes in the snake so you can keep moving!
Nice work Matt, just what I needed to get motivated and get on the trainer! The temp. reading there definitely helped being its Jan. 27 and -17 below this morning up in E. Central MN!
The most incredible crit in the US. The times I've been there it's always been won an dlost on the downhill, especially when it rains, as it often does. Saw the late Steve Tilford destroy this course more than once. Tire choice is all about grip and confidence. Last time I was there the podium riders were on Rubinos and Hutchinson Fusions.
Dude, that had to be the dumbest looking race I've ever seen. WHERE DO I SIGN UP?! lol 😝 Def going to put this on my list! Goal is to do at least one crit/race in every state in the next 3 years. This looks like a crazy fun day.
I wish people would recognize theres are race going on and stay off the course, I feel bad for my buddy who was in the break and then a wheel chair pulled out on the course and took him out.

makes me want to go try race this in the cat 4 this year. I would be lucky not to get pulled 🙂.
It's an amazing race with a great atmosphere!

I've won the Pro race and started dead last so it can be done.
@@mattzimmer5470 you're a beast then mate and clearly an exception!!

This course looks absolutely brutal. When your speed his 5-6 mph and 500 watts I was thinking "my god I'd be at a standstill."
Yeah it is absolutely brutal especially when it's hot!
Great work as always!!

One of these days I hope to get good enough to give a race a shot. Great video - new subscriber here :)
