I worked for a labour hire company as a nurse and discovered I had absolutely zero protection from false accusations even though I was a member of the Union!!
As you were labour hire, your not part of the company directly. As soon as any problems arise, the labour hire company just sacks you (as your casual) & that's why the unions can't do anything. Yes it sucks, but the laws have been changed now so you can go full time direct with either the principal contractor or stay with the labour hire full time. Don't blame the unions for this one, as it was the previous law. It has just been corrected now if I recall correctly

When I was working for Henry Walker Enterprises just outside of Whyalla in the mining the same union sacked me while under work cover and riped of thousands of dollars when I went to Fair work's they told that they were not going to do anything about it
