There’s also the Central Florida Zoo!
I have a tour of that zoo also
Like to applaud every keeper training. Long hours, dirty job, heavy lifting no way is their job easy and they absolutely form a bond with the animals in their care. Their the best! When we see a keeper thank them for their dedication.
So very true Linda, they are getting lot's of first hand training. From what I witnessed, the animals are happy and well taken care of. I spoke to several of the student zoo keepers on my visit. They were happy to talk about the animals and the work they do. I am so glad I went for a visit. Thank You for your comment 😊
Theres also a College Zoo in California
The Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo is the only AZA accredited zoo on a college campus. The teaching zoo in California is not AZA accredited. I would love to visit the other zoo once I get back to California.
@@TomsRoadTrippin wut even is an AZA Zoo
@@treys1607 AZA is the independent accrediting organization for the best zoos and the best aquariums in America and the world, assuring the public that when they visit an AZA-accredited facility, it meets the highest standards for animal care and welfare.
Also next time you make it back to Gainesville you should look into Carson Springs Wildlife Conservation Foundation
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll check it out
Thanks for sharing! Going to have to make a trip up that way and visit this Zoo.
It's a good place to visit, a real working teaching zoo run by the students.
Always looking forward to visiting a new zoo. Your library of videos is giving me some ideas of places to visit.
Glad to help you decide on new places to visit. I'm always looking to expand my road trips, go to new places is the best part 😁
Agreed! Have you visited the National Tiger Sanctuary in Missouri? It's a nice place to visit and a fun stop, you can do a program there where they allow you to feed the big cats by feeding them chicken through a tube.
I haven't gone there, thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into it.
Hey Tom. You are awesome! LOVE your videos!! It is obvious that you are an animal lover, and I really appreciate that. Neat that one of the keepers recognized you. If we saw you at a zoo, would definitely wait until you're not recording and say hi. Even buy you lunch! : ) Have you ever been the NC Zoological Park in Ashboro? Animals have lots of natural habitat and space. Love big cats. Keep up the great work. God bless and stay safe.
Thank You Kelly, I appreciate that. I enjoy meeting new people, it's still surprises me when someone recognizes me. I haven't been to the North Carolina Zoo yet but will be going in a few weeks on my way to Maryland/ Washington DC. I'm looking forward to seeing this large zoo.
So they didn't had gift shop in this zoo
I like the snakes indoor exibith
They do have a gift shop, the indoor building was closed so they had a binder with pictures of the items. They were all out of hats during my visit.
@@TomsRoadTrippin oh that's sad
It's OK next zoo you will definitely Get a hat
It's a bummer when I don't get a hat, only happened a few times.
What zoo or aquarium are you going to next
Next week's vid is from Silver Springs State Park.
@@TomsRoadTrippin oh that's good
@@TomsRoadTrippin I never heard of that park but I hope it will be fun
It's one of Florida's original tourist attractions. They feature glass bottom boats.
Great video Tom!
I really enjoyed all the signage at this place!
Speaking of which I think you forgot to show the Gopher Tortoise signage, so I guess he was a no-show?
Did you end up asking questions and stuff to the Zookeepers? If yes, do you remember a few to tell me?
Great video overall Tom, on the smaller side but you know what they say, short n sweet!
Oh and two more things Tom, you mentioned you opened a PO Box a while back, could you do a mail opening video if you’ve gotten stuff yet? I think that would be cool!
Last thing Tom: I was looking at my calendar and I saw June 24th is a Thursday, you know what day that is Tom? It’s my birthday! I’ll be 16! So I’ll have a video from you to look forward to!
Take care Tom! Looking forward to seeing your reply!😁
Thanks Noah, I know you love the zoos. There wasn't signage for the Gopher Tortoise. Never did get to see him either 😟 I did talk to a keeper about the Ostrich with the missing neck features, mentioned that in the video. I spoke a bit to the keepers cleaning the Otter habitat, they were busy so I didn't want to bother them. It was really nice to see the zoo keepers learning while taking care of animals in a working zoo.
If I get some stuff in my P.O. Box I'll do a video about that. Good to hear you're looking forwards to my video on your Birthmas.
@@TomsRoadTrippin Thanks Tom! I do love your Animal Facility videos!
Though I think it was an emu without neck feathers, not an ostrich 😀!
Have a good day Tom! See you Thursday!
Yep, it was an Emu. That's what I meant to say 😝
@@TomsRoadTrippin Haha, you silly guy Tom! 🤪
😎👍
Thank You 😁
@@TomsRoadTrippin it’s awesome to see locations like this.
i very like the concept, i wich i could have learn and be in school in there. I would do alots justto be with the Lemur XD
the little juvenile snake the person had in hands made me laugh, it's super cute :D but i have no doubt as small as it is, if you get bite, you gonna have a bad day and maybe a week XD
Despite the zoo only being 10 Acres / 40468.564 square meters, it's a great zoo. I do enjoy the snakes and lizards, the little snake was cute 😁
