This pole is a symbol to say that There used to be a great Mon nation on earth, where the capital of the Mon people was Hongsawadee City and always remember that you are a Mon ethnicity.

DNA observation shows that Thai DNAs are average mixture of Mon's and Tai's in the north and central lands (more Tai towards the north and more Mon towards the central but always in a proportion like 60:40). Somehow when and how the ancient Mons were assimilated to speak Tai is still a mystery.

Songkran in Thailand has different beliefs. According to the ethnic groups that exist in Thailand In the area of Phra Pradaeng, Koh Kret, there are ethnic Mon people living there. They celebrate differently than Thai people from other tribes. And in another place, Bang Saen, Chonburi Province, they have a day called Wan Lai. We've heard about it from dozens of people. Years ago, ever since I was a child, I heard they held it after the Songkran festival. annually P.S. I use a language translator. It may cause the meaning to not match what you want to convey.
