maybe you need spikes along the front where they attack the floors, or accomodate them with stairs (which they can't seem to find) so they can enter the maze. The choppy blade thing works very well.

This game is intriguing but I still get the feeling its going to lean heavily into the pvp side of it and pve is going to not get as much attention. So just giving it some time before I buy it. Youre one of the youtubers thats going the pve route so Im very keen on your videos of this game 😊

Personally, I would set my firearms to the 1 2 and 3 slots so they're easier to swap through in a hurry. Harvesting tools you don't need in a rush, guns you do and those keybinds are easier to hit without taking a finger away from mouse/ movement keys

Check the stats on the blueprints for tools and weapons.
I got an exotic (gold) stone ax BP. It gathers twice as much wood as the iron ax does. Only takes one more hit to finish the tree. And to repair, it doesn't take iron. Only stone and wood.

I'm late for a comment but, I see some things going on in the vid that I was also experiencing, and after trying a bunch of stuff here how I solve some issues.
Attacking the base instead of using the stairs, the Lure is on a bad angle (it's at 9 and works best between 10,30 and 1,30. sorry I'm bad at angles so I use clock face instead) with the stairs (like driving vehicles, it turns from a center axis, let the gas go and you drift) npc's dropping from the lure kinda act the same way, look at them and you will see their movements, wanting to run to the stairs makes some hit the spikes and many times they start wacking our structure, spiked walls should be further out where they will not hit them leaving them clear space to spawn.
Another thing, looks like in your case, the blade trap might be blocking their pathing, or make another stair and check if the game will let you place it, at 19:19 it looks like their is a little gap that can also break their path (seems blade traps work best in a 2-block-wide corridor, leaving enough space for the pathing to see a slalom)
Or hopefully this can help someone else, little tip for corn (if not ready to go in the desert) if you loot corn, eat it and you have good chances to get 1 to 3 seeds, sow-harvest and eat for even more seeds. Sorry my crap is long!

They are spawning in your floor and on your traps you should get rid of the last roll of floors and spread out the spike traps

Can you change keybinds yet? Also I hate seeing wires all over the place. Why can't they do it like the infected? You only see the wires with the tool.

In this game, you should probably close your doors when you leave. Not just for the NPCs but other player can raid you as well
