It’s been a pretty awesome couple days for us Duck fans. Can’t believe the regular season is over… and the Ducks are still undefeated!!! This season has been so much fun and I’m so damn grateful for every single day of it. Game after game after game, the Ducks just kept winning, and here we are now, the sole 12-0 team, ranked #1, going into the Big 10 championship game in our very first year in this conference. There is so much to be happy about right now and I’m trying to enjoy every single moment because seasons like this don’t happen very often!
Then... there's basketball. The usual slow starting Altman led team is nowhere to be seen. 8-0 and winning the players' classic... with 3 quad 1 wins ALREADY this year over #20 A&M, SDSU & #9 Bama... great time to be a DUCK!!
My son and I glanced at each other during several of the running plays and without words, we were saying the same thing: Offensive line. His seats are on Row 4, 50 yard line, right behind the Ducks bench. From that angle (literally perpendicular to the play), we saw Ducks running backs flow right through the sea of humanity. We saw the O-line moving Washington's D-line backward at the same time. It was a beautiful thing to see!
Offensive Line came to play. Very impressive effort!! Together with the Defensive Line, Oregon controlled the line of scrimmage. Keep it up and Oregon's chances to win the B1G Championship exponentially increase! Really impressed!
They play like this the last few games they wont be stopped. That defense is a beast. For so long the offence was the best but now it's this defense. Penn state will be tough but ducks will need a game like this to win.
Hey Spencer, I completely agree with your take on Riggs. I would say amongst unexpected players he is the one that impressed me most this season. I do believe that he has leapfrogged Limar on the depth chart. I don't see Jordan James coming back as I truly believe he is NFL ready today. I could however see Noah coming back to give it one last go as the lead back.
I get it. The running game was great. But for me, the defense was amazing. They limited UW to what - 43 rushing yards? They had 10 sacks. There was one play where Derrick Harmon (I think) just ran over the defender to get to the QB. They stayed true to their assignments. And several of the sacks were coverage sacks because their QB couldn't find anyone open. That was the most dominant defense I've seen Oregon play in a long, long time. And even though UW scored 14 legit points (7 were garbage), they had to make a few really outstanding plays to get them. Even then, they didn't come from a blown assignment or lack of effort. So for me, the defense was the star of the game.
brother this show deserves a shout out, i dont get to watch the games but you make me feel like i did, u match my passion for the ducks in a way i can really appreciate, im so here for it🤭💗
Hey Spencer, Oregon fan from here in Virginia with a question for the show! Q: What do you think of College Gameday heading to(Yet Again) another Georgia(7) vs. Texas(3) matchup instead of the #4 vs. #1 matchup in Penn State vs Oregon?
The thought I just had is that Oregon and Penn st have 2 of the best college football environments so they are holding off for the first round of the playoff where one of the two will host
Most likely they think the outcome is fairly obvious. Penn State is Lil Bro (Ohio) State from Temu. If we play our game and execute, they just don't have the offensive talent to keep up.
I remember Chip Kelly pinning his ears back on the run game when he was at Oregon. When it worked it was a beautiful thing, when it didn't it got ugly really fast. So it's no surprise to me it cost Ohio State a trip to Indianapolis.
One thing that might be helpful for Oregon is red shorted freshmen can play in conference title games, bowl games and all postseason games without losing eligibility. Oregon has lots of very talented people who did not play much this year because of the concern about them losing eligibility. So now the lid is off. Maybe more rotations. Of course, this is the same for all the teams that Oregon will play. But I think Oregon will have a decided advantage in this area. I'm really looking forward to the big 10 conference championship game, and all of the postseason play.
I can’t see red shirts coming in and taking minutes of starters or even backups at this point in the season. Would be very risky. And if they was that good they would play over starters, they wouldn’t have been redshirted on the first place.
@ownitacademy8103 I agree but it's nice to have the option. The freshman RB (little Bucky) really looked good. What happens should a starting RB get hurt? Options are good for this playoff run.
Yo Spencer. PFF awarded oregon with offensive line of the week. 0 pressures allowed. Pretty impressive since they hand those out like Halloween candy. Strother received B1G 10 guard of week as well. Also when is the Penn state break down coming 🎉
Good comparison with Riggs to Bucky, but when I saw him run he actually reminded me immediately of LMJ. Strong, adroit, FAST, can break 4 tackles run through a tackler and break out for a 60 yard run kinda guy.

Spencer, i would love to know your opinion on notre dame possibly getting the 5 seed. No way they jump oregon if we lose, but when we beat penn state how is it even remotely fair to consider nortre dame for the 5 seed? They get to pick their own shitty schedule as opposed to thats just how the conference played out. I would be highly upset if they reward notre dame with the 5 seed after having the easiest path in. Once again. Thank you for all you do for us fans.
The CFP committee has already said they don't think the losers of the title games should be punished for the loss, but we will see how that holds up based on where they rank the SEC teams against the Title games losers. It would be Penn State's 2nd loss if Oregon wins, and if Georgia wins their Title game it would put PSU even with Georgia and Texas at 11-2, so they would drop below Georgia and since Texas is ahead of PSU now in the AP, would PSU get the 6th seed and Texas gets the 5th, because of the way the rankings have been and will likely be set up this week? ND should not get the 5th seed, if the Committee holds true to the rankings, but this is where the SEC Bias has already played out. I definitely don't think Oregeon will go below the 5th seed, if they lose. It would be outrageously egregious bias, if they did, in my opinion.
@@ChrisTesch87 Yes agreed. The position is Dante's to lose, but he won't. He's a physical specimen. I know at times fans griped about DG not being able to see over the line, well we shouldn't have that issue next season with DM at the helm.
@@DarkwingDuck_91let's be clear, Gabriel hasn't had a full season throwing for under 3100 yards in his full career, and Moore was just Bad in his Freshman year. He still has to prove it on the field, for a full season, and whether he can see over the O-line or not is irrelevantat this point. Dillon has proven he's a top QB in his college career. For perspective...Arnold was good in the few games he played in for Oklahoma in 23, behind Gabriel, and look how that worked out.
@@JRod-dg8ftw Agreed not taking anything away from DG. I think as accurate as Bo was DG still has a better killer instinct and deep ball. But Moore was thrown into a bad situation to be fair. A freshmen QB without the necessary line and weapons to protect him. As much as I give Stein flack about the offense it is really designed to have the QBs excel with minimal mistakes. I think DM will take full advantage of a better system.
Ohio State can’t run the ball tho, they’ve struggled to do so for weeks. That’s disaster for a Chip Kelly offense. I knew Michigan D line would give them issues but man….😅

I think Vegas has got it right - Penn State is a well balanced team with a solid QB, all world tight end (Warren), and a nasty front 7 on D - Oregon and Penn State IMO have been two of the best teams in the B10/country this year - statistically they're almost mirrors of each other - gonna be an epic Big Ten CCG - Go Ducks!

Lol, he would have been 19/23 (82% completion rate) IF the ball wasn't dropped 3 times, when he hit their hands. He played within the game play they had, and dominated with his 3 TD's responsible for. You probably should actually.look at some film, rather than going off of your bias opinion. 🤦

Q: What do you think of College Gameday heading to(Yet Again) another Georgia(7) vs. Texas(3) matchup instead of the #4 vs. #1 matchup in Penn State vs Oregon?
Simply put: ESPN is firmly in the pocket of the SEC.
Half of ESPN commentators couldn’t find Oregon on a map if asked.
The thought I just had is that Oregon and Penn st have 2 of the best college football environments so they are holding off for the first round of the playoff where one of the two will host
ESPN has a 10 year 3 billion $$ contract with the SEC... the BIG doesn't. Simple as that
