Curtis went as far to bring forth child labour threats, meaning that Kids bboy battles were against the law. Crazy, right? These threats escalated to such a degree where Steve had had enough, and he had to step away from the nonsense. Which means no funding, which means no silverback. Unfortunate that some guy didn't keep his ego in check and decided to deal with this situation in the worst way possible, and which did not help the bboying scene at all.
Props to both b-boys, best finals since BC One 2016, 5 rounds of pure high level breaking, responding to each others rounds and with some crazy musicality. And happy for Issei for finally conquering this title
Really I thought this was a weak ass final. Both were exhausted and out of combos and original moves. Im happy Issei finally took it, but both were on fumes. Granted this competition is more rigorous than BC One because its a Top 32 against the worlds best unlike BC One which is half that. They have to come hard in a bracket twice as large.

Man Issei has won all the big jams in his career already got a bc one, silverback, and R-16 and many more but this man has sets for days there are bboys who shine in crew battles but the real test is 1 on 1 and this man steps up to it everytime.
you don't get what I mean I am saying 1 on 1 is the real test because your are tested on how many tools you have, or how much endurance you have. In crew battles you have sets that can be saved because you are not going out as much also routines preserves sets even more where as in 1 v 1 you have to keep pulling out move after move and if there is a tie break you are even dipping into your resources further which if your the bboy who makes it to a final you are now tested to see if you have exhausted everything i.e. repeating the same thing over and over.
Alkolil also an OG at this point and one of my favorites to watch. In my mind one of the most underrated of all time. On his best day he could beat anyone. 🙏🙏🙏
I’ve watched these matches many many times and others like it. I think this is arguably Issei’s greatest all time solo tournament performances. Making light work of legends Vero and Menno and then closing against another legend in the finals. He made a definitive statement that he was going for world number 1. Silverback 2016 was amazing with those two nasty sets against El Niño and Pocket but here he made it effortless.

Its funny how Alkolil threw that shoulder grab spin in the end against Issei which wasnt executed perfectly but Issei didnt tell shit, but when Issei threw the same at him, he pointed out that it isnt flawless which actually backfired at him, thats why he double pistoled him... But its only my opinion. One of the best battles out there for me. Both beasts.
