  • If you’re a fan of Marvel Comics, you owe it all to the amazing run on FANTASTIC FOUR by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.
After finally reading, and finishing, both volumes of the FANTASTIC FOUR OMNIBUS, Ron Richards pulls Josh Flanagan and Conor Kilpatrick together to analyze and dissect the comic that started it all. Everything from the humble beginnings, to The Thing changing A LOT, to the sexism, to the evolution of Kirby’s amazing art, it’s all here. Even the classic Galactus storyline and the introduction of The Inhumans!
If there was a name for imagination in comic books in the 1960s, it was the FANTASTIC FOUR.

This is the best review on an omnibus I've seen on youtube. you guys actually are talking about the comics about the material inside giving me a good insight as to what to expect rather than what most people do, which is ramble talk and don't talk much about what's inside the book.

I got started withe the FF from issue # 10 with Doctor Doom swapping physical bodies with Reed Richards. It was such a refreshing plot that I got hooked and started to collect FF and Thor. I was ten years old and was living in Malaysia. Before that I was also reading the DC line with Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, the Flash, Batman, Superman but really liked the Justice League and the Legion of Superheroes with Superbo .The Marvel side was putting out the "Monsters" like Torr, Metallo, Klagg and Elektro. Those were the days and I was actually lucky to get my hands on Avengers # 1 and the Avengers # 3 and Avengers # 4.

Justice League of America (JLA) was not the first superhero team. Justice Society of America (JSA; also from DC Comics) was the first one in comic book history, being released in 1940, a whooping 20 years before JLA.

I agree, I much rather sit down with a copy of Marvel Masterworks Vol. 1,2,3 or what have u and immerse myself in the, in my opinion, classics, than pick up an issue of "The All New, All Different Marvel". Classic Fantastic Four, X Men, and especially Spider-Man from the 60's and 70's are hands down the best. Marvel Comics and DC have royally fucked their books up. The Inhuman's practically replacing the X Men, a female Thor? A female Wolverine? Spider-Man and Captain America are African American? These changes have these books lacking the " Marvel Feel"... And they aren't the hero's I have known and loved for pretty much more than half my life. DC's New 52 is a little better than modern Marvel... I've given up on Marvel and I think I'll stick with the classics... 😠

Wait until the "New Age" liberal management at Marvel decides
we need a Muslim Captain America !! Hey, don't laugh!! I can see Red Skull or Zemo getting clean away because it's prayer time!!
