- One of their best song and mv and one of my favorite song. Minwoo and Eric were so young ^^ !! I would love to have two hot guys like them during my High School time LOL !! But the lead actor (Minwoo) would be alive at the end of my MV ^^ !
English sub credit : Shibimarukochan (ShinhwaChangjo.net)
If it makes you guys feel any better, Kpop usually follows the trends of western music. This song was released in 1999.
If it also makes you feel any better, the members of Shinhwa censor the n-word in their old songs when they perform them today.
That's a huge relief.
They shouldn't have to sensor it though. People are to damn sensitive.

Girl it's literally a slur 🤨
@@rileyfae5228 yea they should, it’s a slur
This was always one of my favorite music videos. Gotta say, Korean pop back then was much better than it is now!
People who didn’t grow up in korea back in the early 90s don’t know high school was really really tough. So much bullying and yangahchi’s and fist fights rumbles etc.
This is really heartbreaking. Eric becomes blind and Minwoo dies. :( Its really sad to watch even though I know they're just acting. Hope this never happens to them ever.
Now that I think about it, this would make a great movie
yess! i was thinking the same thing :) it'll be so cool to see a shinhwa movie with 6 of them with this concept. yes including our awkward prince shin hye sung 😁 kekekeke
If they really do a movie with this theme I'll be the first to buy lol! Even now still love them! Love the mv!
It’s 2020 and this song still hits hard
now it's 2022 and still slays😂
2024*
2020/3/19! Sometime you just recall old days and songs pop out... i listened it when I was 11 now I’m almost 31😂
Same story now I'm 29 😅
SAME! I’m 35 now. flood of nostalgia!!!!
Same 😭
To all the people commenting on the N word, South Korea had very little awareness of the meaning of that word, and the media companies in their early stages only knew it in relation to rap songs from the US (e.g. 2pac, Snoop Dogg). Back then, a lot of kpop groups going for the "bad boy" concept used the N word to come across as more "gangsta" and "cool". They weren't using it to belittle anyone in anyway, not to mention that black people did not exist in South Korea (at least not as much as today) to even fathom the concept of racism equivalent to that of the US.
It's only in the last 15 years with the rise of globalisation and social media that Koreans gained a better understanding of its cultural significance.
людям пора перестать быть такими чувствительными. в те времена никто и не воспринимал это слово в негативном ключе.
What's interesting about the rap in T.O.P and Yo was that Eric composed (or co-composed with others) both of them and he grew up in LA in late 80s and early 90s. This might the context of the N word that appears in both songs.
yeah, californian asians are the number one users of the n word, maybe besides puerto ricans lmao
Okay but seriously minwoo looks so damn hot especially considering that I wasn't born when this song came out
who still watching in 2019?
i used to listen to them when i was a kid, im only 16 and i still listen to the 1900's kpop groups
This video is one of Shinhwa's best. Bruatal, intense and has great lyrics.
What an old song! I remember hearing it in the states in the 2000 ah good times. I still find it funny everyone crying about the choice of word they used. Maybe I'm just used to the hip hop here.
This era was the pinnacle of Kpop imo
One of my first kpop songs. I really miss the late nineties, early thousands kpop sound sometimes. Had the biggest crush on Dongwan and Junjin lol flexed printouts of them in junior high. Lol.
WOW! still a good mv even from today. miss all the old k-pop groups. please come back!
The Mv which made me have a bad first sight at Minwoo oppa, but also is the Mv which made u love him ... lol
Great that everyone still love it
This was so good! Though I came here because of the remake, I absolutely loved the song and MV. I get why Shinhwa are legends now :)
this brings so much memories...reminds me of those fanfics I read about them back then
They should have made a movie with it
Stilll favvv🥰
The best 💯
1:40 and 3:16 were your fave parts for sure
@hlubkojbabie It's called Yo! [on the album it's entitled 악동보고서 (Yo!)] and was from their 2nd album T.O.P.
One of the first kpop songs and mv I fell in love with! Eric was also my first kpop crush! So hot!!!!
I remember listening to this song on repeat back in the days.. I can't believe it's been an entire decade since this song was released...
That was.. intense.
Still watching this in 2016 even though after watching it in 2014, but still a sad tragic for Eric and Minwoo at the very end of the mv 😭😭😭😭 Proud to be SHINHWA CHANGJO
This is my first time watch this mv. This is the coolest shinhwa mv really..... Whakkakakakaka
3 people thought dislike mean, Dis i like. :)
I still love this song after so many years ~
That was SES in the intro!? 20 years later i find out lol. I used to love this song, and I think I loved the video even more! So badass
No she was a member from M.I.L.K

this mv is wooww, i mean minwoo dies at the end, eric becomes blind und the girl is left alone again..... a mv pictures the dark side of a society, the lyric is great too and how they sing....wow
La época que me vi en Much Music, y su radio infantil FM Hit
yes they said the "n" word, yes they may not have been aware, but no they weren't using it to degrade anybody in this context, so lets all just enjoy the song for its rawness and overall message.
these were the days
they are still active
Eva Lind Johannsdottir haha yup I know! I'm always going to be a fan at heart but I don't really follow their news anymore... I guess I've become too much of an adult! sigh!
seriously love this mv. their acting are great, the song is awesome.
Minwoo and eric looked blazing hot in this one but the mv dang 💔 tragic reality
They all look so young. Thanks for sharing. Shinhwa Forever!
I was listening to this when it came out. I am a white guy from MD. Most of my friends growing up in my neighborhood were of south Korean descent. perhaps I took things more seriously or personally. i found myself speaking some Korean and etc. just blows me away that at 38 Kpop is so huge now and 15 years ago the idea of white person enjoying k music was so alien.
damn, you won't find music or a music video as hard-core as this anymore. does anyone know what happened in the classrooom with the main girl? why did she get in trouble?
thast gang life for you rite there... too many youngsters acting hard cuz they never experience the real thing and hwen they do its too late
omg i luv this MV ive never seen it before thanks for the subs too ^^
LAWL, they said the 'n' word. i ain't even mad, shinhwa is the only exception.
My Korean buddy told me nobody like Shinhwa. :( He was wrong, because it's awesome. It's Shred, pop, classical, hip-hop, etc. It has a message. "Tell me how to live, love, and stand up as an individual." YEAH!!
Found this song five years ago (Shinhwa was the band I used to get into K Pop) and it still gives me chills, good Lord. Newer K Pop fans really should investigate the older bands, like Shinhwa, HOT ("Outside Castle" is amazing), SES, Sech Kies, etc.
BoMi so beautiful and young ^^
young eric and min woo dang 😍
Great song & nice mv from Shihnwa.#shinhwa.#yoshihnwa.#exsmartiat.#kpop1999.#oldkpopsong.✩★♡♡♡.↑↑↑↑.
hey, this song was made in 90s in Korea. there was no stuff like internet in that days...Korea had not undergone racial segregation like US. South Korea has been a very homogenous country and there were few black people in Korea. this music video was for Korean people, not for Kpop fan and UA-camr unlike these days. though they knew original meaning, Any Korean didn't think 'N word' as segregative word. because they heard that word only in mass media like news or music, not using in the usual context. it was word just to be used to represent amercan black culture and to express feel of black music in Korea. Rather, it can said that it represent adoration for black culture. in short, it's just cultural difference. ok? k-pop is imitation of american pop music but where it is made is Korea, not US. N word is just foreign word to us.(but,of course, not using today because of globalism and Internet) So please don't focus 'n word' in old Kpop. just appreciate it.
There actually was internet in South Korea in 1999, but most people didn't have it until around 2001.
ohhoho! this brings back memories! I think I fell in love with Minwoo after watching this.
We r the shinwha! this is one of my favorite songs! And I 'm a huse fan of S.E.S.
Oh man, this video is so tensing >o<

i respected friendships of shinhwa cz the SM entertaiment want Eric,Hyesung and Minwoo..to do solo artist in 2003..but they refuse, they want to perform in group...and then their carrier continues with new entertaiment untill now.....think about it if not, they will perform in solo.....the shinhwa extinction.........Their friend are amazing.......
Oh my goodness ERIC...*faints*....he is so freakin good looking in here! He really looks like a gangsta! hahah

dang, they looked so good here and even now they still look good..do they know how to freaken age
omg! remember this mv!
yes. in their other songs too
So violent, D:
This is the second song from Shinhwa where i hear them say the N-word. What was SM thinking back then? I'm sure they didnt mean to offend anyone and like @Blotyran said were probably going with the hiphop/rap culture(and we all know how many times ppl say the N-word in hiphop/rap songs), but i still think that it wouldve been better if SM didnt use that word.
Yeah it really offends me. One of the reasons I stop listening to American music! It kinda turns me off from this band! But the song is really good. I thought I was safe from it with kpop lol
I've said this on a different video by Shinhwa, but I'll say it again. This is quite an old song and in Korea most people didn't get the meaning and thought it was cool cause it was in English and American rappers used it at the time. I don't think they were trying to offensive or anything, they probably didn't know it meant something offensive in the 90's (in Korea)
@Niruba Puvanendran: Yea, i agree, they obviously didnt know what it meant. But even to this day, ive heard that some teenagers in Korea still use the N-word because they think its a (like you said) "cool word in English". I really think that the teachers at school or atleast some adults should tell the teenagers/or whoever uses that word, that its really offensive and tell them that its not just a "cool word".
KAIisMYPROPERTY Yeah, I completely agree. Back in the day, no one really understood what it meant, but by now they should know and if they don't, the teachers/adults should tell them! It doesn't help that mnet didn't even censor Sehun's MV cover. :/ (and don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming Sehun or Shinhwa (especially since they're my favorite kpop group :P))
Idols use the word "naega" ( 내가 ) often because it means "I" in English. When Koreans pronounce it, it sounds like "nigga". When my American father first heard K-pop he remarked "wow, they use the n-word frequently! I don't know if I want you to listen to this" I had an LOL moment and had to explain they are not saying the racial slur "nigga"....rather, it's just how they say "I". A good example is CL's "I am the Best". The lyric is 내가 제일 잘 나가 or naega jeil jal naga. Which roughly translates to I am the best. Aren't different languages interesting? :)
Who's still watching this in 2016??
The end... T.T
I WANT THIS TO BE SOME KIND IF DRAMA!!! .
Thanks for the subtitles.
I wish kpop nowadays could be half as good as this :(
What a BADASSS MV....

2016-06-09 Still Listening !
I can't belive that this mv is made under SM Entertainment.. This is more impressive than the mv they made now.
This is a very meaningful song, no doubt Shinhwa can live up to their name and most Korean songs in the pass (and some now still) use English words even though they do not really know the real meaning, plus this was like what quite a number of years ago, internet wasn't that easy to access and nobody was offended by it back then. But now times have changed and no one will use those kind of words anymore, so I'm just saying that people shouldn't put that they used the N-word in this song into heart cause they didn't knew that it would offend so many people since back then non-koreans rarely listen to kpop.
Thanks for answering now my mind is made up clear thanks^_^
best shit in the 90's...
Holy nuts this is intense
เกิดไม่ทันแต่ชอบฟังมาก🤟
OMG YESSS SUBTITLES!!!
hi there... what is the name of this video ?
im lowkey addicted to it
my favorite mv!!!!!!!
So minwoo gets into a fight with these bullies and everytime they meet it kinda escalates (the story also is the kind that has no beginning or ending really) until he gets hurt badly (ends up dead eaven) and eric is running his way to that place so help him and the story end pretty much like this, we dont know wheather the girl is gona be ok in her crazy family, or if minwoo only had a terrible concussion from being hit so hard with that thing.
i think taemin just showed up in the beginning of the mv.... this song is cool >,<
shinhwa jjang !
there are probably many different storylines through the whole mv. The girl has it very bad at home with an assaulting father. She and minwoo meet because he steals her backpack and through reading her diary falls in love with her. He gives everything back to her and they "start dating". Minwoo and Eric are friends and they have bullies after them all the time, at least minwoo does. I'm running out of letters... :P
then?
i didn't like korean music at first, but this song and video made me think the other way n.n-b this song is just so... awesome! O.o this is totally going to my favs! x3 very hot, that guy min woo xD
Bomi Kim from the girl's group M.I.L.K (this group had disbanded. they don't show up nowadays)
They are soooooooo handsome yo!! really Love this MV but it would be better if Eric didn't become blind and Minwoo didn't die(?) at last :( awwww, heartbreaking... and, really... I really miss the old sm....
