This is endlessly fascinating. I absolutely love hearing what great players think about the pieces they play. You can learn so much from them. Thanks to Beethoven for composing this piece of musical perfection.
Simply put, Itzhak Perlman playing this concerto is the reason I play violin and the reason I love classical music. It gave me a deeper love and appreciation for music in general. Thank you for uploading and thank you Mr. Perlman.
Mr. Perlman is the only human being in the world that should I meet him - I would not be able to speak. His music moves me beyond my own person, and he is such an amazing teacher and role model as well. Thank You, Sir for the light you bring to the world.
Favorited. I am so immensely happy that I found this video. Mr. Perlman my single greatest inspiration as a (amateur) violinist, but it was in fact his recording of Beethoven's Concerto that inspired me to pick the instrument up in the first place, AND the piece that got me into classical music in general. Without his rendition of it, I would still just be a jazz/funk bass player....not that there's anything wrong with that. And yes I still play both instruments, my sights are now set on cello.
IM ANMAZED AT YOUR DEXTERITY MR.Prlman bravo.! I NEVER REALIZED THE BEAUTY OF THAT BEETHOVEN PASSAGE, ITS LIKE A HORSE APROUD HORSE SWINGING ITS NECK AND DEFIANTLY STICKING ITS CHEST OUT AND GALLOPING AWAY! I CAN ONLY HOPE TO SOMEDAY PLAY AS STRONGLY AND BRILLIANTLY AS YOU MR. PRLMAN.
My father sent children to music 🎶 school 🏫 where they learned violin, 🎻 flute, etc ...we had 13 children remember ...I, being me ...refused to go ...reason, we would have to meet, to discuss 🗣👥
I m 57 and learning violon 3 years. Most of violonist and cellist people were so arrogant to me as i learned on the streets in heidelberg. I wrote a table like: voila cette femme encore est debutante or this woman still is beginner. Now i gave it up because they insulted me many people dont accept if even in a uni town someone learns. Not everyone has chance in his childhood.
after listening to Lindsey Stirling's music, i decided to ply the violin. but the day after this decision i heard Itzhak's violin concert and know ive listend to the 3d movement at least 30 times. I owe almost all my appreciation for music to Itzhak and Lindsey
Here's the full performance seen in this video, with Daniel Berenboim conducting the Berlin Philharmonic (1989?): ua-cam.com/video/FabL8qnyFOU/v-deo.html This recording by two of my favorite giants of music is so wonderful that I had to buy the CD (yeah, "old school", but the easiest way to enjoy it at will when not enjoying it on UA-cam.) I'm not a musician, just a semi-knowledgeable listener, but this is perhaps my favorite piece of music; sometimes I listen to it 2-3 times in a row during the wee hours, when I should be sleeping! I agree with Maestro Perlman that "there's nowhere to hide" with this concerto, its relative simplicity and transparency is what makes it so beautiful, unlike the pyrotechnics of the later Romantics (which I'm not much of a fan of). "Beethoven didn't write no BS!"
@violinland Alas, these comments were not meant for Perlman. They were in responce to a video of Abram Shtern and some how finnished up here. This is not to say that Perlman is one of the greatest living violinists. To many Perlman's sound is the nearest to the old Auer school.
Can anyone play better than this violinist. Such attack, such sound, such a wonderful violin. I after 66 years of being a violinist and being involved with the violin, I rank Abram Shtern as one of the greatest violin players I have ever heard. Abram Shtern like Philip Newman were not exposed to the general listener enough and did not record commercialy.
I love to hear Itzhak talk about violin. He expresses himself so beautifully

1:00 after Perlman plays, he's so drugged from his tone! He can hardly speak!
Whiteout lol
I would start at 0:58 min where he has these white eyes haha
" so you see it's very simple" me: >_>
Perlman = Master Class .

Even this divine work has 2 dislikes. They either clicked by mistake or they are totally deaf
+Logan Yang Deafness didn't stop Beethoven.
8 dislikes now.......All deaf people?
although there are many GREAT violinists i dont think any of them treat the music as carefully as itzhak, thats why he is truely my favourite.
he seems so warm...like his playing!
Perlman Highly Intelligent Violinist
A totally lovely philosophy. It's so beautiful and soothing to be able to touch the result of love and mastery stirring together.
itzak among orchestra: michael jackson and the jackson 46.
he is absolutely right about Beethoven concerto. the most perfect and most difficult violin concerto.
Favorited.

You make it look so quick and simple Mr Perlman! I HOPE SOME DAY I COULD PLAY LIKE YOU!

The look on his face at the very end is like "don't mess up, don't mess up, PLEEEASE!"
It's always a great joy to know what it was that gave us so much in so many ways. Lovely thoughts.
The best sound a violin can produce, leaves dust to all others
What does he mean in 4:02 that violinists have only 1 Beethoven's concerto .Didnt Beethoven wrote more than one violin concerto?
Nope! how do you follow the best violin concerto of all time??
No. There are 5 piano concertos and one violin concerto.
Thanks a lot again!!! :))
regards
@aKhS767 no worries. :-)
His wrist at 6:00 o.0

@mandrileante I don't remember if I had responded to your comment of appreciation, so...you are most welcome!
@violinland i think aaron rosand is probably the best violinist currently living.
