I've been doing this for 8 years now. Got it in my car. I would never use glass for this. Use plastic with a weaker top, so if it blows up, it will just blow the top off. For the bubbler, I use a straight tube with plastic wrapping being held on with elastic bands. Safety always first.
Things you can do to make it better: -Put the polarities of the plates one between the other +|-|+|-|+|-|+|-| -Make the smallest space possible between the plates -The best electrolyte after sodium bicarbonate is sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide ( if you have acces to it) -More current( Amps) = more bubbles. Make sure voltage stays between 12v and about 36v. Other things: - Make sure u only use DC. AC will make steam (No welder) - You can run an engine with it with enough hho - Do NOT compress the gas or you will blow off your face💥 - Your stainless plates will corrode after a while and loose effeicenty. Hope this helps.
higher voltage will mean a higher current will be drawn, so if you use something like 120vdc and a large supply of amps, you have LOTS of bubbles, but it will be a bit dangerous
This was a really fun video I love the way you asked your self questions and came up with different ways to get the answers. I also like the positive feed back and helpful suggestions that are coming from some of your watchers. you did a great job. be careful .
I'm impressed. For somebody who isn't sure that HHO is right you did a great job. The voltage is not the issue, it's the resistance. You need the smallest gap you can between the plates (and maximum surface area). As people have said, stagger the plates + - + - etc. Voltage increases current which increases the reaction but you get much more efficiency if you increase current by reducing resistance. Also, the reaction slows down but becomes more explosive as the positive electrode oxidises. At the start most of the oxygen 'rusts' the positive electrode and only then does it start to release the oxygen to produce the ideal mix of two hydrogens per oxygen.
I made one 4-5 years ago and ran my 4 stroke 200 Honda Atv 3 wheeler with it. Then I ran an assisted line to my deisel pickup as well as our honda civic. Tough part is that it taxes your alternater a lot. You already found out that the more power put to it the more Hydrogen you make. My 3 wheeler ran totally off of the Hydrogen where the honda civic and my truck were just assisted by it. The better grade the stainless steel the better the hho generator will produce as well as the more salt or baking soda etc... keep going and have fun with it !
yeop it acts like a octain increaser but in stead of getting air mix its getting hydrox mix burn well better fuel economy - some one told me its not good for rings on the pistons but as its just to help with fuel economy and power shouldn't be to bad - im thinking of putting it on my truck how did you do your line -was it to the air intake or another air for injecting the gas?
Great video! I watched it about 2 hours ago and built my own. I used potassium hydroxide as electrolyte. The explosion of even a small amount of this gas mixture is already damn loud! I didn't wear ear protection, so my ears rang for some minutes, they're good now. Don't underestimate the explosion of this gas. In the video it's indeed not very loud, but in real life it's just enormous.
Electricity take the path of least resistance. In this case its the distance between the plates. That's why most of the reaction is occurring in the middle. you need to alternate the polarities as in multiple cells in parallel. Don't use conductive spacers like the nuts and bolts you are using. Be careful the terminal bolts don't contact the lid between the grommets. The lid could cut through when tightening the nuts causing bolts to shift around. Do a continuity test before connecting for the first time.
It's probably been said but you need to disconnect power before removing those clamps. Sparks that close to hho is dangerous. That charger has a switch right?
Try removing the outer plates. If they aren't really producing that much maybe taking them off it will give all the current only to the two plates that is actually producing the gas. Maybe this will give you more of an out put of HHO. The way electricity works is it takes the rout of least resistance. You are producing a good bit of HHO though.
Your second design with longer plates is very smart... I think it will work much better if you put a single flat neutral or dead plate in between the positive and negative plates!
In the video project, only the set of boards for each pole is isolated from each other. Plates of the same poles are in contact by nuts and bolts. Regarding the neutral plates, shouldn't they be isolated from each other also for better cell efficiency?
hey. interesting! may i know, can the glass jar you used for hydrogen generator tk. is it can withstand high temperature due to the long period of running the generator?
Excellent ! ! ! I'm hoping to run my truck off this. So far, nobody will say why this won't work. Biden has a target of $8 bucks a gallon for gas, it's time to start looking this over very well. Thanks for the video.
the electric is taking the easiest rout that is why the middle is bubbling if you put +NNNNN- N meaning neutral and put non conductive spaces in between it should work a lot better just add more electrolyte
Not sure the alignment of your 1st plate setup but i believe its how close the positive and negative currents are to each oher in relation to how much they will produce so layering them positive negative closely will give the best reults - ps i've never gotten as far as you though thankyou for your video very intising :)
Very good demanstration it took me a while to understand the plates 1st off Current wants to take the easiest path to complete a circuit so the platesin center were tied to wire's first shorter distance in ur water there for u need each plate insulated from other. The patern i like for 12 v is first plat ground negative ( g ) then 5 natural plates ( n ) then positive plate ( p ) then 5 (n) then another (g). Or[ 1(g) 5(n) 1(p) 5(n) 1(g)] tieing the 2 ground negative so not in the water hook up a transistor relay to turn on and off power abou10 SECOND run time 5 seconds off stops overheating and explain the bubbler 4 safty and i like to ad 1way valve for safety keep plates ruffly 1/8 inch apart
great video bro but you should probably hook up your battery charger to the terminals, and then turn it on. Those sparks right next to the "air tight" outlet is going to cause some excitement one of these days. Just sayin. Thanks for the tips!
my jar got really hot, i had to limit it to 3amps max, mine also blow up twice, once too much pressure and the second time was blow back..even a roughly built unit works good, I gained 2 mpg on my pick up just fogging the intake, nice video
dude that is awesome,,is there an electric isolation between the plates so one side is negative and other positive because it seems to be one unit and hard to tell where you put those plastic sandwiched separators ,looked like the bolts still made a continuous connection? now can you attach a needle on the end of your hose and make a blow torch?
Try to separate the oxygen from the hydrogen. Cause water (2-H2O) separates in oxygen (O2) and hydrogen (H2), cause now you're lighting a mix of oxygen and hydrogen, and you want only hydrogen. For more info, this is called the 'device of Hoffman'
Hey, can you provide the link where you found out how to create this? I'm thinning about making my car a hybrid and would like the most amount of information possible
The 2 "S" plate design is effectively a short. That plate array would run on 3 or 4 volts and lots of amps. Secondly, as current takes the oath if least resistance, any part of the "S" plates that is bent uneven and any bit closer tgan other parts will pass the most current leaving other parts without bubbles.
It's a good setup. A few suggestions. First, I'd use pool sealer around the hoses and grommets to ensure air tight fit (on both sides of the mason jar seal). I do a similar thing with mason jars, yeast, and sugar water to produce CO2 gas to enhance photosynthesis in marine plants. 2nd, use a bigger diameter hose, like 3/8" fish tank hose. I'd also install anti-blowback valves in the line, which would reduce the likelihood of flame travelling up into the jar if you are connecting it to anything like an engine. Several welding supply companies sell them and they have some small enough to fit 3/8" lines. Third, install a second line with a pressure bypass valve in case something happens to the supply line (like it crimps). There are several companies that sell pressure valves fitting 3/8" line with varying PSI tolerance.. This will prevent the pressure from building up to unsafe levels inside the mason jar (you'd have to do some investigation to find the psi where mason jars are likely to explode and select a pressure valve several PSI below that). You can run this bypass valve line direct to the atmosphere. For extra safety, you could use the bypass valve as a way to mechanically cut the electricity to the HHO generator, kind of like a circuit breaker. Lastly, find a way to separate the anode and cathode plates using a micromesh, like polyolefin meshes. The goal is to create 2 separate compartments for the anode and cathode by having a membrane between them so that oxygen and hydrogen can be harvested separately. Basically, you need a screen that lets the ions flow to each plate but keeps the gases separate (each ion is smaller than the gas molecule). Look up cation exchange membranes and ignore the ideas of interweaving anode and cathodes. The reason for the high volatility is that you have both H2 and O2 molecules in the same line. The result is highly explosive (as you witnessed when lighting the bubbles). Normal electrolysis keeps the 2 diatomic elements separate. Yes, the hydrogen will be flammable, but it won't be as violent of a reaction as you are witnessing because it doesn't have the O2 with it that supports combustion. It will "chirp" instead of sounding like a gun went off. Look up Hofmann apparatus to see what I'm talking about. Essentially, you could harvest the H2 and release the O2 into the atmosphere. Think about oxyacetylene torches - acetylene is plenty reactive on its own, but when you add oxygen, you get a much more violent reaction capable of cutting steel.
Electricity follows the path of least resistance therefore you have to make sure that the current has to flow as far as possible across the metal. You’re connecting power to the plates at the center. You have to attach power to the two furthest plates to maximize the effect.
so what does the 2nd jar of water do? does that have the powder mixture in it too or just water? can I get this hose and run it into my intake with no vacuum to make it run better?
we did some experiments about 18 years ago and videos are still on you tube , last year we made a highly efficieant bubbler which was entirely made of stainless steel and was very good at driving an 1800 car engine , we planned to exhibit it at birmingham and all was in place then we were contacted by various insurers and told they would NOT INSURE ANY VEHICLE ON THE PUBLIC ROAD USING A BUBBLER even though it was completely safe and tested...our cells were completely different and unique patented design to our company. this had to be shelved......but if you wish to make hho id advise you using chopped current or the wires will burn .......K Sinclair ceo S.E.R.L.
I think that is fascinating! Can you really run a car from this? There has to be a way around the insurance, please keep trying, you guys could help save the planet!
add that HHO output pipe inside your air filter of bike or car... like how many people do.... and show us the video how it works! do it at your own risk ! :) all the best
use a coil system as opposed to the plates. teflon coils we ended up using. much more effective.and AC , despite others denial. a dyno can help anything you cant regulate with ease. lol. careful though....but am sure you know that. hahah. cool video
that was on the fourth of July....you did a good job with this. each + and - pair makes a battery cell. each cell voltage is about 2.5 volts. you have 12.5 volts available 12.5/2.5 = so you can interleave + and - 5 times. bring the plates closer together so you can fit 5x2=10 plates in the jar. think of your car battery how close the plates are together to make 12.5Volts that will make all the plates effective and you will get a much larger flow of gas. of course with that comes more danger so use an extension cord for ur battery charger and take it out in the open.
I think if he uses 2 l cola bottles cut as spacers it would be much closer together and alternating pos /neg on each plate would help too then if he added like 6 bottles all generating at same time he could run a nice heater for winter
Say boss. Have a "master arm" switch. Do not connect near your work. Trust me I found out. Power off then make connections the turn on the charger away from the jar. Safer. Thanks for your show.
I made a very similar one of these, using two mason jars and baking soda. I used a 18v battery, and it worked, but in the process, it left these chunks in the water. Is this something I should be concerned of? Could it be because of metal or amount of baking soda? If anybody knows anything, please tell me
The reason people use a car battery instead of a 12 Volt car charger is the car charger does not put out a steady 12 volts. Instead it puts out a 12 volt wave at 50- 60 cycles per second, dropping your efficiency to make hydrogen by half. You can only work with what you have right? Also I'm in the process of making a space Heater using Hydrogen. You gave me some good ideas like using Baking soda instead of using Potassium Hydroxide which is extremely corrosive. When I make the HHO Generator I will use Air compressor connectors and hoses to avoid leaks. The other item is your safety. I'm assuming you were using tap water instead of distilled water for your project. The problem with using tap water, it is possible you are producing Chlorine gas with your generator. I am no scientist. I just know that you cannot use tap water in medical equipment like CPAP machines because of the effects of Chlorine gas. Thank you for your video and keep up the good work!
wouldn't having more negative plates directly next to positive plates increase the reaction output? The center plates are most productive because they are closes to the opposite charged plates. The ones on the outside are far away from the opposite charged plats, so they essentially have more resistance. Maybe I dunno.
the reason you are getting bubbles in the center is because electricity finds the path of least resistance and the shortest path are the middle plates closest to each other ,,if you made two separate units separated in the water perhaps more bubbles will come out of all the plates but in the end i think you might get the same result and it will come out from only certain plates,,like you said maybe depends on the current
Good News, Hydrogen or "made on board Hydrogen" known as the "Cornish Generator" or "Brown's Gas" in Europe... Hydrogen is the #1 fuel in the DOT ( U. S. Department of Transportation) fuel surveys a few years back online, on some non promoted DOT website pages. I was happy to hear of it after watching, waiting 20 years. Now Tractor Trailer companies actually have been popularizing the advantages and best of Hydrogen made aboard during transportation. I'm was excited, I finally knew free made on board fuel is more well known now. I studied Free online CDL (Commercial Driver License) Class A, is required for Tractor Trailer license. I started to add our service options with extra endorsements; "N,T" tank trailer, double/triple trailers, & "Haz-Mat" / "hazard material" trailers. I'm always trying to help promote Economy for families or business as most farmers do and most professionals happy to help learn, save time and more Safety. I'm very appreciative to videos we all learn from. Pls anyone like & Sub to my account if you like our GoodLight videos too. Good luck to all.
very nice job , you could make a stove or full up much numbers of balloons and let them carry a camera and watch live video from space, make a torch as welding machine,
I noticed that the stainless plates corrode quickly and heard that using platinum plated sheets works really well. I know platinum is pricey so i was wondering if you can use chrome plated sheets also? Just curious
not totally sue but all your plates will be connected via the steel bolts going through them, don't you require the + and - cathodes to be 100% disconnected or separate?
I am sorry that I saw your video 4 years after, but I think I know how to make this HHO generator a little bit more efficient. Water readily contains cations and anions of the solute. In your first (and the second too) builds the potential decreases as you go outwards from the center plane of the jar. To make it much more efficient, you need to sandwich electrodes between each other.
place additional current supply terminal at the bottom of the plate to equalize the current distribution we called in the cathodic protection system "end current effect" or try to center the connection.
Dude, you have to use plastic bolts and nuts. You can't have the plates contact metal to metal. That's why only the middle is bubbling. You have a separator there.
i reckon that the reason the gas produced seems to get more explosive the longer you run the generator is due to the fact that there is a air gap between the lid and the level of water, this gap will dilute the HHO gas so the longer it runs the more hho gas will replace the air gap
Before disconnecting the battery charger i would turn it off and let it sit for a second. Those sparks can ignite hydrogen gas and blow the whole thing apart like you described. That would be a lot of glass to get stuck in your face man. Be safe.
safety is paramount with these devices, although the generator works well but several safety measures should be incorporated, this has the potential to become lethal if not respected, other than that the video was definitely informative and has room to evolve into some practical use if pursued
I think the reason why the middle plates are giving more bubbles is that according to ohm's law, the Current Passes most through the least resistance path (i.e the shorter path) so in this case the middle plates provide the shortest path for the current to flow.
Just a suggestion, I would unplug the battery charger BEFORE I remove the alligator clips, as those sparks from connecting/dis-connecting, only need the tiniest amount of that gas leaking to blow the whole generator ! , (I learned the hard way 💥🤕 lol)
I've been doing this for 8 years now. Got it in my car. I would never use glass for this. Use plastic with a weaker top, so if it blows up, it will just blow the top off. For the bubbler, I use a straight tube with plastic wrapping being held on with elastic bands. Safety always first.
you use it to run the gas more efficiently or are you running straight HHO? 🤔
Be careful about collecting a pocket of hydrogen up by the ceiling.
Omg
Hook it to a vacuum source on a car engine and improve your fuel economy
Im researching for this purpose

add that HHO output pipe inside your air filter of bike or car... like how many people do.... and show us the video how it works! do it at your own risk ! :) all the best
put leads on the jar so you don't spark on top of your jar, hook it up to a push mower or other gas motor , see if it will run it . reallycool video
Hi man nice vid indeed,
could you try with two steel wires separated by a plexiglas plate instead of using steel plates?
just want to know what sort of soapy water used in second holder that poped
Can u compress it in a high pressure gas can?
Or can u condense it to a liquid(dangerous)?
you could also add "neutral" plates between the positive and negative.
I need to ask a important Question the 2 nail in the middle is it plastic or iron?
use a coil system as opposed to the plates. teflon coils we ended up using. much more effective.and AC , despite others denial. a dyno can help anything you cant regulate with ease. lol. careful though....but am sure you know that. hahah. cool video
The commentary is great. 😂
that was on the fourth of July....you did a good job with this. each + and - pair makes a battery cell. each cell voltage is about 2.5 volts. you have 12.5 volts available 12.5/2.5 = so you can interleave + and - 5 times. bring the plates closer together so you can fit 5x2=10 plates in the jar. think of your car battery how close the plates are together to make 12.5Volts that will make all the plates effective and you will get a much larger flow of gas. of course with that comes more danger so use an extension cord for ur battery charger and take it out in the open.
I think if he uses 2 l cola bottles cut as spacers it would be much closer together and alternating pos /neg on each plate would help too then if he added like 6 bottles all generating at same time he could run a nice heater for winter
i would like to see how big an engine this system can run
Say boss. Have a "master arm" switch. Do not connect near your work. Trust me I found out. Power off then make connections the turn on the charger away from the jar. Safer. Thanks for your show.
Could make for some fun party balloons... Keep away from the birthday cake 🍰
what is the metal you are using inside the big jar? iron or copper or what?
What is the measurement for the stainless steel plates?...and what type solute you used for this generator??????
Hi there just wondering how much current does it draw from battery?
Is the anode connected to the cathode by those bolt screws?
wouldn't having more negative plates directly next to positive plates increase the reaction output?
Good luck to all.
very nice job ,
you could make a stove or full up much numbers of balloons and let them carry a camera and watch live video from space, make a torch as welding machine,
I noticed that the stainless plates corrode quickly and heard that using platinum plated sheets works really well. I know platinum is pricey so i was wondering if you can use chrome plated sheets also? Just curious
Graphit ...
Wonder if you could make an engine run by HHO?
It is possible, yes
But prolly not a gas engine
yes you can, i've seen cars run on them. larger than this one though.
Well, I guess I should have said anything with a low-ish compression ratio
my thoughts exactly
That would be so cool
not totally sue but all your plates will be connected via the steel bolts going through them, don't you require the + and - cathodes to be 100% disconnected or separate?
That why you need use neutral plates ! It will work more efficiently!
Inspirational stuff, thanks i sure enjoyed your enthusiasm ever thought of teaching young kids?
Thank you for the mason jar idea and using washers for toilets and other materials!
P.S. Had to break the 666 streak, lol
Good👍👍👌
place additional current supply terminal at the bottom of the plate to equalize the current distribution we called in the cathodic protection system "end current effect" or try to center the connection.
Dude, you have to use plastic bolts and nuts. You can't have the plates contact metal to metal. That's why only the middle is bubbling. You have a separator there.
do you think you could run a small engine with it?
Is it ok if you use a potasiun hydroxide mix in the water?
You should get a Reed valve, parts from from a mini beutain soldering iron and make a mini hho torch!
you speed up through the parts that are important to see in order to do this but normal speed for the talking/intro?
u should add it to locomotive :D
i reckon that the reason the gas produced seems to get more explosive the longer you run the generator is due to the fact that there is a air gap between the lid and the level of water, this gap will dilute the HHO gas so the longer it runs the more hho gas will replace the air gap
Caustic soda aluminium and water works super well too
Keep doing what you love
Before disconnecting the battery charger i would turn it off and let it sit for a second. Those sparks can ignite hydrogen gas and blow the whole thing apart like you described. That would be a lot of glass to get stuck in your face man. Be safe.
you can make capasitors form it:)
Good job
bien vídeo
safety is paramount with these devices, although the generator works well but several safety measures should be incorporated, this has the potential to become lethal if not respected, other than that the video was definitely informative and has room to evolve into some practical use if pursued
You need to use ONE BOLT for the pos side and ONE for the negative side so you DON'T have ALL the plates tied together
You had a good idea to put the steel plates instead of a improvised boiler
Great video and personally I'd rather be welding too ;-)
I think the reason why the middle plates are giving more bubbles is that according to ohm's law, the Current Passes most through the least resistance path (i.e the shorter path) so in this case the middle plates provide the shortest path for the current to flow.
yes, and this setup needs equal distribution of current through all the plates.
Just a suggestion, I would unplug the battery charger BEFORE I remove the alligator clips, as those sparks from connecting/dis-connecting, only need the tiniest amount of that gas leaking to blow the whole generator ! ,
(I learned the hard way 💥🤕 lol)
Thix fot this info
myimprovement to you install a one hole rubber grommet for the air lines coming out aswell
