- If you’ve ever lived with other people, you know that group living inevitably brings up feelings about cleaning the kitchen and doing the dishes. Dev Carey believes that the way we have conversations about doing the dishes explains a big part of what works and doesn't work in much of our education system, government, and society. In this talk, he uses humorous anecdotes to make the case that “direct honest communication” about doing dishes has real power to prevent bureaucracy and change ourselves and our world.

I’ve had many “careers” from scientist to river guide, street kid counselor to Conservation District Manager, Camp Director to School Principal, father, husband, neighbor. this really is a profound truth....just like Laura Eisenhower, the exoplitician, always describes the problems that are facing can always be likened to having a clean kitchen!! the kitchen is always clean, we just have to make it happen!

Some true wisdom. Loved this talk about nipping complicated bureaucracy in the bud. Every family, school class (and commune) could benefit by watching and discussing. Just don't start making checklists.
