  • LEMON BISCOITOS
    10 cups all purpose flour
    4 cups bisquick pancake flour
    12 extra large whole eggs
    1 whole package butter 1 lbs.
    4 tbsp yellow crisco
    4 cups sugar
    2 tbsp baking powder
    1 tbsp baking soda
    1 tsp salt
    3 tbsp (vanilla extract,lemon extract or almond extract )
    In a large bowl, add flours, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar. Beat eggs and lemon extract. Add butter and crisco to flou. Blend well. . Add eggs and extract and mix everything well until combined. Let rest for 30 minutes. Divide dough into five equal parts. Form dough into a log about 2 inch thick. Cut the log into small 1 pieces. Roll the dough into a rope about 5-6 inches long and bring both ends together to form a circle. Place them on a cooking sheet lined with parchment paper . Bake at 350 degrees until light golden.

    10 xícaras de farinha multiuso
    4 xícaras de farinha para panqueca bisquick
    12 ovos inteiros extra grandes
    1 pacote inteiro de manteiga 1 libra.
    4 colheres de sopa de crisco amarelo
    4 xícaras de açúcar
    2 colheres de sopa de fermento em pó
    1 colher de sopa de bicarbonato de sódio
    1 colher de chá de sal
    3 colheres de sopa (extrato de baunilha, extrato de limão ou extrato de amêndoa)
    Em uma tigela grande, adicione a farinha, o fermento, o bicarbonato, o sal e o açúcar. Bata os ovos e o extrato de limão. Adicione a manteiga e o crisco ao flou. Misture bem. . Adicione os ovos e extraia e misture tudo bem até incorporar. Deixe descansar por 30 minutos. Divida a massa em cinco partes iguais. Forme um tronco de massa com cerca de 5 cm de espessura. Corte o log em 1 pedaços pequenos. Enrole a massa em uma corda com cerca de 5-6 polegadas de comprimento e junte as duas pontas para formar um círculo. Coloque-os em uma assadeira forrada com papel manteiga. Asse em forno a 350 graus até dourar.

    Thank you so much for this recipe have not made these biscuits in so many years planning to use this recipe in making Portuguese biscuits for a family yard sale. 😍
    I also have been using your malasada recipe and it has been a great seller. 😃
    Trying to help my son and my daughter-in-law make a little extra pocket money to buy School items for my granddaughters . 😃
    My mother-in-law still makes them once in a while the older we get the harder it is to do things . 😮
    Planning to share this recipe with my daughter and my daughter-in-law so they can do it themselves as well. 🤔

      That is wonderful. I make malassadas for sale and when I do it sells out every time. I have made thousands. The biscuits are a good item to sell too. The rice pudding is a good selling item and my recipe is very easy and you can’t fail. I cook my rice in the oven. I put in star foam containers with lids and keep them in a cooler.

    Ola D.Angela, por incrível que pareça nunca fiz biscoito 😆, a minha Mãe e irmã fazem e dava-me por isso nunca fiz, como agora moro longe delas, o meu marido está sempre a pedir mas vou tentar fazer a sua receita só que metade da receita, se eu fizer 1/2 da receita os ingredientes são só 1/2 correto?     I just tried to do this wonderful recipe but had an issue . 🤔
    I added the egg and then the pure lemon extract it cause the eggs to curdle. 😮
    Did I have to mix everything individually .🤔
    I should have not added the pure lemon extract to the egg mixture before poured into the flour . 😮
    Is the butter supposed to be room temperature or do I melt it a little. 🤔
    I am a bit confused about this recipe. 😮
    Hopefully it will turn out well at the end . 🙂
    Have not made these types of biscuits in so many years. 🤔
    Also I did use 1 lb which is 4 sticks of unsalted butter. 🤔
    Does the dough supposed to be really oily looking or do I have to add some more flour to the dough. 🤔
    I absolutely know that I am doing something wrong.

      Yes it is one pound of butter. You use 10 cups of all purpose flour and four cups of pancake flour. I melt the butter add with eggs and lemon extract and mix the wet ingredients together. Then I add to the flour. The dough if like play-do. It shouldn’t be shinning. Add more flour to get to a consistency that can be rolled. Good luck. As far as getting curls don’t worry about it will be fine.
