Let me answer as I also did Mount Meru and Kili on Oct 22. Mount Meru is a great hike for acclimatisation. I can highly recommend do both but Meru first. Also because Mount Meru is the more beautiful hike. Compared to Kili Mount Meru is a little bit more challenging. But when you are in a good shape and mentally fit both should be feasible!

Meru is a great mountain to start with. Its very beautiful and has a whole load of animals along the way.

It takes 3 days to reach the summit of Mt. Meru

Hi Simon, from high camp to the summit it was about 5-6 hrs and then 2-3 back down.
