your tagalog is very textbook, formal tagalog. like how the rest of us speaks in formal textbook english (at least those who learned it in school). it's cool to see this perspective!
@@heyitsathena7855 in case you don’t know my dear. A lot of Filipinos who grew up speaking in English don’t speak the Filipino language very well. It goes the same for other nationalities who aren’t used to speaking their own local language because they are in the habit of using English instead. Didn’t you ask yourself why Hannah did this kind of vlog? She said it herself that she wasn’t taught much of the language. Common sense my dear. Use it.
This vlog is so so important! I'm a Filipino born and raised here in the U.S., but I still watch Filipino vloggers, teleseryes, movies, etc. My parents speak Tagalog only at home, so my Ate and I do understand it and can speak it. *However* I do speak it slower because I have to think about the translation first in my head. I'm more comfortable speaking English - and there is *nothing* wrong with that nor does it make, or anyone else in the same circumstances as me, any less of a Filipino! There shouldn't be a rubric on what makes a "true" Filipino. Speaking English doesn't make someone a snob. As long as we all respect and understand each other, than the form of communication shouldn't be scrutinized as much.
For you is more in reasonable because u lived and raised here in the US but for her she born and raised there in Philippines and sorounded of native speakers of tagalog. I just surprised and wondering.
your dad was on point on explaining kung kailan ka tatawagin na Pilipino. It is great to learn other languages but you have to make sure that you know your own. Stay safe! At sabi nga sa Biogesic - Ingat!
I can relate when Hannah said that she sound so "mahinhin" when speaking tagalog hahah 'cause as a Bisaya and a Filipino myself, I was not really used to speaking Filipino, we're more used to speaking English and Bisaya. Most of us Bisaya feels weird when we speak Filipino. We sound so different and malumanay kasi medyo ang tagalog.
Cebuano kasi garalgal, awful-sounding language unlike other Visayan languages like Ilonggo. Cebuano sounds so funny for non-Cebuano speakers especially for the people of Luzon. Good thing the national language is Tagalog and not Cebuano and all schools teach Filipino/Tagalog all over the Philippines. Tagalog sounds beautiful because it sounds deep and poetic. It would feel weird to hear and speak Cebuano with its jud jud and ug ug. I wouldn't be able to finish a sentence without chuckling. Anyway, Tagalog people also speak Tagalog and English same with all of ethno-linguistic groups like Ilocano (Ilocano and English) or Kapampangan (Kapampangan and English). They speak their provincial language and English and when talking to other ethno-linguistic group, say for example Ilocano and Kapampangan, they will most probably speak Filipino/Tagalog than English.

i've always read about how our voice changes when we speak different languages and as a filipino who code-switches english and tagalog at all times, i've never really observed this lol but hearing u talk tagalog more when we're all used to hearing u in english made me realize that it's true lol your tagalog voice is deeper and yes it's more mahinhin huhu ang cute pls
Wanna see Hannah do this challenge not just for a day but once a week or atleast once a month until she improved and not to be so shy about speaking in Tagalog. A content like that would be so great to watch. But basically what I really wanted is to see Hannah speak in tagalog more often coz ang cute nya haha!
Thank you Bb. Hannah for this vlog 😍. Ikaw ay tunay na Filipina 💖

I'm currently watching hihi. You're so cute when you speak pure tagalog ❤️❤️❤️ I love all your contents!!!
Ahhh!!! Hannah !! i love this!! I feel the exact same way! I was born in Canada but I grew up in a tagalog speaking household so I understand it fluently but I couldn’t speak it too well. Ive gotten a lot better over the past couple of years but I totally agree with the whole feeling shy and discouraged about speaking it. thank u for this video!🥺😢
I totally get you, I came to Canada when I was 2 and was just used to speaking English at home while my parents respond in Tagalog. I can speak it, but when it comes to describing hard things , it’s for sure hard. Like whenever I speak it I have to think in my head the next thing I say to make sure it makes sense 😂❤️
i am also not so fluent in conversational tagalog because my mother tongue is hiligaynon. i just think it is important to remember that the philippines has so many languages, not just tagalog, and they are equally important. knowing tagalog should not be the only standard for being a filipino. it is only through school and tv that i was able to learn tagalog. how about those who do not have the resources and privileges? :( all that aside, i adore how your entire vibe changes! talagang mahinhin nga
i’m sorry but ever since i knew about this(as IIongga myself) i just have to point out that “Ilonggo” is what you actually call the people and “Hiligaynon” pertains to the language coz isn’t Hiligaynon such a cute word^^ nice hearing you speak tagalog hans!
Anyway, you really did great.
ETOO NA YEY HELLO HANNAH, FOR SURE THIS WOULD BE A GREAT VLOG, GONNA WATCH NA, IT'S TRUE NGA FROM 2 HRS. SHOOT TO 15-16 MINS. nalang siya, APPRECIATE YOU ATE ALL EFFORTS ARE WOW 💗💗💗
I usually hate videos like this because why should someone who was born and raised in the Philippines be praised for speaking the nation's lingua franca? It just goes to show the disparity between the Filipino rich and poor - you live among Filipinos but don't have anyone to talk to in Filipino. Hmm. But props to Ms Hannah for choosing to learn the language in school when there were other electives available and she seems very aware of the privileged life she had growing up. It's also evident she's genuinely trying to learn, I hope the people around her encourage her and that she makes space for more Filipino-speaking people in her life (who of course, also add value). This video was tastefully done. Sa mga nila-"lang" ang wika, please remember that language is much more than just a means of communication, it tells the history of a nation and unique culture - how things are phrased, the nouns we use, sentence structure, etc. I hope people let go of the notion that a language is simply "just" a language because it is so much more.
😊 And atleast I tried too. 😅😊 My love language would be words of affirmation and physical touch. I grew up without my mom's presence cause she died when I was young. So I was always longing for a mothers love. So for me to express my love to my aunties I always hug them and say thank you for always being there to them. Couz everytime that I hug them I felt like I already hug my mom. ❤ and as I grow older and had my own life and experience hardships I always learn from it. And when I see my friends having a hard time I always sent them a private message that somehow or maybe would ease their pain or what they were going through. Just to feel satisfied that I make them felt my love for them. 😊. Always watching your vids Hannah and as always I always feel so inspired. ❤ thank you Hannah and God bless.
Mahal kitaaaa ate hannah more tagalog vids to come!!!❤❤
This is so cute tho. Do this more often, hannah. I think you'll fall in love with the language more. Just keep on doing it 💛 proud of u!
OK lang po yan binibini hannah, napakagaling po nga po magsalita ng tagalog..kahit anu pa un pagssalita mag English man yan or tagalog ikaw parin un loadi ko 😍😍😍
You're actually really good. It's a bit obvious that you're not used to it, pero halos tuloy-tuloy ang pagta-Tagalog mo. Nice
Actually Hannah, the way you feel when speaking in Tagalog is the same way most Filipinos feel when they're trying to speak or learn the English language
I'm a Filipino major student and it's nice to hear you appreciating our language! ✨
KAYA MAS HINAHANGAAN KITA. IPAGPATULOY MO LANG LAHAT NG GINAGAWA MO , LALONG-LALO NA ANG MGA MABUBUTING BAGAY NA NAKAKAPAGBIGAY INSPIRASYON SA IBA. MAHAL KITA ATEE HANZ! PAGPALAIN KAPA NAWA:)💙

Anyway, you really did great.

This is actually very good for someone who didn't grow up speaking the language
Mahusay! Sana may 1 week tagalog challenge.
I am happy to see you Hannah sinusubokan mo yung best mo na mag Tagalog 🤗 more Tagalog challenge video 💗
KEEP ON LEARNING HANNAH YOU'RE DOING GREAT!!!💗
OMG ETO NA! Yay! Proud of you!
Mahal kitaaaa ate hannah more tagalog vids to come!!!❤❤
Love you Hannah💖
This is so cute tho. Do this more often, hannah. I think you'll fall in love with the language more. Just keep on doing it 💛 proud of u!
ANG GALING MO HANNAH!! 💗
OK lang po yan binibini hannah, napakagaling po nga po magsalita ng tagalog..kahit anu pa un pagssalita mag English man yan or tagalog ikaw parin un loadi ko 😍😍😍
You're actually really good. It's a bit obvious that you're not used to it, pero halos tuloy-tuloy ang pagta-Tagalog mo.
ang cute magsalita ng tagalog!! in whipped, i love you ate hannah!!
Actually Hannah, the way you feel when speaking in Tagalog is the same way most Filipinos feel when they're trying to speak or learn the English language
Napakahusay! ♡´
Hi Hannah! In Iloilo we call people here “Ilonggo” but our dialect is called “Hiligaynon”. 🤗🤗🤗
Proud to be ilonggo
I'm a Filipino major student and it's nice to hear you appreciating our language! ✨
Kapampangan naman next
Galing nyo po mag tagalog. Walang halong arte. Napaka natural nyo pong tao
❤️ Btw, YOU'RE SO CUTE!!! 😩🦋
Ang galing mo nga mag tagalog actually.. im so proud of you. Good job.

Hannah speaking in tagalog hits different 💯
You’re so good speaking the language han! The accent sounds aussie and you’re so cute. It feels like I’m listening to a little girl tryna speak tagalog. It’s indeed very mahinhin ❤️❤️❤️
MAHUSAY MAHUSAY napahanga mo ako 🥰, ipagpatuloy mo lang Han
everytime i watch your videos, naaalala ko yung time na sumigaw ako ng "i love you" sayo nung YTFF, then you replied back with an i love you too. we miss seeing you hannah!

omaaayy,, like this content! hahaha baliktad tayo, gusto ko matuto ng conversational english, please turuan mo ako Hannah! hahaha
Okay naman aah!! Lagi mo lang gawiiiinnn 😌
Siyang tunay, Hannah!! What I appreciate most about the video are the brief voter education portions
You go, Ateee!
