Bags are not meant to be babied. Jane Birkin tied things all on hers along with stickers and other things she loved.
Jane never had to pay for her Birkins so it’s easier for her not to “baby” them
Their value were still reasonable during her time. But it’s now worth a fortune.
She was gifted her Birkins lol

Of course you look after the pricy bags bc people (not all but I think its a bit 50/50 , those who get them, those who worked for them) pay a lot (although a mini Kelly is around the 6k and in comparison with Chanel who's quality has gone down a lot is also around the 6k for classic flap
Point is when you worked for it ENJOY those beauties & when its a part of your esthetics then put a sticker on them
So my last point is: do what you want with the bag(s)

Thank goodness for social media. Whatever would we do? How will wear our Birkins? Life needs so much explaining.
I’ve worn the padlock on my Kelly and Birkin and no scratches. These bags are meant to be used. There is nothing dated about wearing them with the clochettes.
I always keep the clochette around the handle on mine. It’s a personal preference. There’s no wrong way.

The Hermes bags I have in MY DREAMS😅 I would wear without, & play with different twilly's or scarfs for a neutral colored basic outfit giving my look fun, & I would wear my bags too the ground

I wear the clochette on the touret and yes, it creates a smiley mark under the touret, but it's barely visible and I love the look, hence...
This will stay with me for life. Such as how to do CPR - how to deal with bereavement - how to do self-defence - how not to wear my Birkins 🥹❤️✊🏼
maybe start a trend and wear a different colored couchette, or multiple clochette
It’s leather…if it can’t been worn in normal use it’s not good quality. I wear mine. We’ll see how it goes… 5 years in doing fine.😊

I have a pre-loved Birkin with very bad scratches on the front where someone had attached to the lock to the turnlock.

Oh my I’m so glad I never wore the padlock on mine don’t really care for the look - I remember I asked margarita because her mom likely carried the bag many years ago. I seem to remember the answer was you’ll be fine it won’t long term harm the bag.. glad I didn’t do it especially since I don’t care at all for the look on the Kelly even less than on the birkin. Same with twillies don’t like the look at all - and the horsies ?! I kept
My childhood my little ponies and adore them and will never let people tell me it’s too childish to keep. But not on my bag
I dislike seeing a Kelly carried while hanging open - it looks sloppy and diminishes the style of the bag.

Everybody is different. Lots of bags this style these days and lots of ways to wear them. Really all about preference.
I don’t own one lol and I can’t afford that right now but who knows? maybe one day I’ll be that fortunate. Still find the video informative, there are other economic bags that have charms hanging
