But greatest highlights of Astor compared to creta and seltos is safety and interior quality. Safety is one which cannot be compromised and the interior quality of Astor is comparable to cars in the range of 35Lacs and above, its that good. Even the much costlier tata harrier, safari,creta,seltos,kushaq and others don't have that interior quality,fit and finish. Its like a mini Mercedes interior that you are sitting inside.
I agree with you on the finish aspect of interiors but not really in terms of space or utility features. Rear seat of Astor is seriously poorly designed, seems like the designers got bored after designing the front of the cabin and left the rear with just the seats. I guess the biggest selling point of this car is safety.. saw a video that this car has a crash test score of 5 stars.. so cost cutting definitely involved.. all in all.. should be a good car..
Have owned a Savvy 220 turbo for about 6 months now and have been regretting ever since, for more than 4 months haven’t received a mileage more than 6kmpl, now been getting about 7kmpl mostly or entirely city driven(figures though tank to tank method)
@@TravellingEngineers I did and a couple of Mileage tests were done too, but then the mileage turns out to be fine around 12 to 13kmpl with 50:50 i.e. highway and light city traffic (which is their standard protocol they say) but the problem arises when driven entirely in the city and traffic being moderate to heavy.
I'm having mg Astor 220turbo at for last 8 months Not much to complain . If you take any vehicle , we can say 10 cons . If you see negative side of things only , all will be negative
Good video, i have the delivery of this car soon and I agree with what you're saying. I didn't notice the ovrm buttons so badly placed. The other point is, Astor will be putting up ventilated seats and irvm as accessories in future and is the case with their accessories, they are very expensive. I'm going to be putting in lights behind as well. Having said that, it's cheaper than the Korean brothers and the German twins and can be customized in future.

Every coin has two sides nothing could be 100% better , The things mentioned are not major issues sari gadiyo me hota hi hai utna . Astor is already providing advanced technologies and advanced features in this segment in an affordable price range .

I got my Sharp CVT 3 week back and the notice that actually Drive mode is more over a eco mode and pickup is slow but milage is good (12.5 kmpl) and when you switch to Sports mode then pick up is good but milage will decrease (9.5 kmpl).

I own a Landcruiser prado and i can say that these issues are not issues. This is the design level of MG and these are infront of the customers when they test ride it. If some components fail to work properly those are issues.
Hi. Good video on the misses and agree with all of them. I got my Astor cvt last week. Since I’m a sedate driver the engine seems fine. At higher Rpm it’s not super silent but nothing one can’t live with. Honestly India mein to sustain a car above 3000/3500 rpm is impossible owing to speed cameras. My major miss is the boot space :(
Great review, wish it came with English subtitles. I do agree the ignition button and indicators lever on the left side is inconvenient. My 4 year old can easily access the ignition button while driving, imagine that!

@@prajwalmj810 Even dealers have stopped taking bookings for base models now. They want to close the existing ones, by that time mostly the price will be increased so they will start with new prices.
In the outside market anything is possible but do check with MG if that has any effect on the warranty. As far as I know, MG is not offering any tint option

They are entertaining client interested in electronic feature rich variants , lower variant model they are least bother to sell or deliver. I had worse experience with them after waiting for nine months with no commitment towards delivery.
Depends on what you are looking for. Go for Astor if you need more power and space, go for Brezza if you need Maruti's mileage, trust and support network.

MG is not really known for its engines, so I am not very hopeful. You can wait for a facelift or you can try other options. If you just need new interiors, the new Seltos is quite qood. Otherwise Creta and Kushaq are proven workhorses in this segment.
Hi bro, because of IC chip shortage MG people released new EX sharp version which missing some features like traction control, electronic stability control, blind spot and hill assist. We already booked sharp but they were asking us to take EX varient. So is it good to take EX now without these features since they are missing in and 20k price was less compared to sharp normal variants, Can u suggest me
Out of these four features, three are quite important for vehicle safety - traction control, electronic stability control and hill assist. If the price difference is just 20k, my suggestion will be to refuse this offer. In this age, traction control and ESC are quite standard and important things.

I bought Astor savvy , this month, but facing battery issue. If i don't drive or start the vehicle for 12 days ,then battery goes dead, so much so that remote key won't work and volt metre reads only 3.55 volt charge in battery. Have you experienced anything like this? Is it normal? Please reply.
Bruh seltos doesn't have 360 camera at Astors price range. Also most of the stuff mentioned in this video can be retrofitted. Seeing that Seltos is a 2star (no its not a 3star, its a 2 star) and creta is ugly af(next gen creta looks nice though). Astor is the only option available in this segment that looks like it belongs here. Taigun has amazing engine but everything else looks cheap. Kushaq still has all the issues and interior quality is as good as that of Maruti. Ventilated seats, autodimming orvms, 360cam,under thigh support,wireless charger, sunglass holder are cheap to retrofit. Sound system, yeah its gona cost a bit if one has to replace it. The only definite problems with Astor is the weird placement of buttons, lack of telescopic steering. MG couldave made the useless HEAD an optional accessory and couldave gave us any of the necessary features (Ventilated seats wouldave been better).
Seltos has 360 cam in top 2 modela, here not even in top model. And, lot of these things are not even available as accessories, back lights, wireless connectivity, sunroof tint etc. My job to talk about missing things, even if they can be retrofitted, it will be extra charge to the buyers.

This is not a comparison video with Seltos, I just quoted that example. This video is to show all the things Astor has missed so that a prospective buyer can take an educated call.
One of the main reason why people are willing to pay above 15 lakhs for a car is it’s drive quality. Astor is after all a Chinese car. Just like any Chinese phone it has plenty of features but none of those are of high quality. It has only mid range, the engine performance is quite poor, and too much body roll. For example, if you want to buy a pricey phone, would you buy an mi phone for 65k or iPhone 13 mini? If you want features you can buy a cheap car with loaded features not the one around 20 lakhs. Please go for European cars, their drive quality is unmatched, they have high resale values and quality where it’s required and not on some gimmicky features. Taigun and Kushaq are same cars except for styling and some interior features. You go can go for either of them and they give amazing drive quality.

Only simple users or people who just wana show around buys a Mini. (iPhone mini is absolute trash at the best) I have done 3 TD of Astor and its drive quality is 10x better than that of seltos. Seltos has stiff suspension and long rides in Seltos over bad roads would make you tired a lot more faster than a ride on Astor. The body roll is negligible. We are talking about Astor, not Hector. I tried taking a curve at ~80kmph and i didn't feel any body roll thats dangerous. Seltos and Creta, have you seen the internal diagrams of those cars? Seltos has ABSOLUTELY NO Extra High Density Steel. It has some minor amount of High Density Steel, majority of the car is built with basic steel. Creta has a bit more Extra High Density Steel than Seltos but only for driver side underpinning. Majority is still basic steel. If you think Koreans give a crap about Indians, take a look at the internal diagrams of Seltos and Creta sold outside Indian n that of Indian made. About Europeans, we got Skoda and VW at 20L, Tiguan and Kushaq. Both has subar built quality and their DSG gear boxes are just upgraded versions of DQ200 which is notorious for complete failure in less than 50000Km. (Replacing DSG mechatronix costs 75K + Labour charges). Outside India, in several countries VW and Skoda gives 25yr/unlimited warranty for these gearboxes. In India, you get 1Lakh or 5yr warranty. Now...what do you think? China bad but Korean/European good? Please spare the china bad notion. China as a country is epitome of Human rights violation. But not every product that has chinese roots are bad.

No Creta ...its has 3 rating at global level and pick up power should also b good with some genuine features. After watching your video I drop the idea of buying Top model Astor at cost around 17 lakh.
If you want an SUV, but not Creta/ Seltos, only thing remaining are Kushaq/ Taigun. Both have good build quality but don't expect too many features like Creta. If you are willing to look beyond SUVs, I would suggest Honda City top second top model is a great option. Again, you will miss some gadgetry of Creta but overall a great car.
Astor work Shop mai le Jane ke 10 days Tak company parts available nahi karati hai , means ek baar workshop mai gaye to 10-15 days ke liye bhool jao ki aap car owner hai, hire taxi when you are giving to workshop
Truly said, the MG says features based but misses the small necessary features, the switches in steering are better in my TV remote controls. It looks so weird. XUV300 is far far better on focusing the main features and quality.
I didn't think that the cooling had any issues even at the back seat. We test drove in 47 degree may heat of rajasthan with sunroof model. In fact no other car had such good back seat cooling.

I don't understand people like you. I have mentioned multiple times that Astor is a good car and this is not a full review, this is just a list of problems reported in the car. Yet, people like you will treat this as a full review and ask for XYZ feature not being mentioned. If you want features video or comparisons with other cars, check other videos I have done on the channel.
Wtf is this guy talking about the rear space being cramped? The rear has plenty of space for a long drive and is quite comfortable. Of course you cant compare the comfort of a sedan to an SUV, however, for a sub compact SUV standard the rear seats are quite good. Also, the AC is perfect, I have driven a Kushaq and Seltos, however found the Astor AC better than the others. Paddle shifters are not necessary as you do have tiptronic transmission in the car which can also be quite fun to use if you know how. Biased video imo
While the car has AI and modern features and boasts of best in class infotainment , it's unable to fix basic USB feature like folder scan. Even in Hector it has the same issue. Songs stored in multiple folders in USB stick cannot be played based on your choice as there is no folder scan option. All songs gets mixed up and it plays in a system driven random order! It's a basic USB feature available on all mp3 players and entry level cars. It's unfortunate that a hifi car like this is unable to provide basic features while it boasts of AI. Repeated complaints to MG has not helped Car drive etc is good
Astor is a good choice if you like the ADAS features and 360 deg cam. If you don't see value in those features, then it is not for you. Also, if you have frequent travelling with 5 people, it will not be enough. Go through my features video and problems video and then prioritize the features you need and the problems you care about. Then make the decision.

I have personally ridden this car multiple times and also the competitors, so my comments on the mentioned points is as under: 1. Quick Acceleration: Yes, I agree, Acceleration not as quick as competitors. But not bad at all. 2. Noise on high RPMs: May not be the case. 3. Soft Suspension: Competitors ride like they pass on the feel of each and every pebble on road to the passengers. So this car is best in terms of comfort. 4. Less rear seat space: I agree. 5. Window height is high: Not a big difference in height as compared to competition. 6. AC weak: Completely disagree. Best in class AC. 7. Less Utility features: I agree. But not a major issue. 8. Sound System: Completely disagree. Best in class Sound System. Better than Bose, JBL. 9. Ergonomic issues: Not much uncomfortable. 10. 360 degree cam: Its good actually. 11. JIO sim: Competitors have no SIM. 12. One plus: Is compatible. Safety and built quality better than Korean Brothers Comfort and features better than German twins UNIQUE Features 1. Air purifier 2. Internet inside 3. ADAS right from base variant 4. Soft touch leather on dashboard
@@gokulu8462 I don't know if they changed it recently, but at the time of launch they had ADAS Level 1 in second top model while Advanced ADAS (Level 2) was only in top model.

I booked Sharp + O, CVT. I hope I didn’t make a wrong choice, given that I live in bangalore and most of my journey will be here in city, engine should not be an issue for me i feel.
Yeah, for city engine shouldn't be an issue. Just check the city mileage once though, with the infamous Bangalore traffic, this might be a genuine thing to watch out for.
The title of this video is misleading. Issues and problems speak to actual mechanical, electric or electronic faults with the car, like defective parts, software bugs etc. Talking about features it doesn't have, while valuable to know, are not issues with a car. You would have known all these things when checking out the car before buying it. If you still bought it, then it was a conscious decision to buy despite the shortcomings.
The idea is to let viewers know about these things before they make a decision. Unfortunately, most reviewers only talk about the good things and not the bad ones, this video is just an attempt to do that.
Seltos and Astor can't be compared..Seltos has no safety, while Astor is best build..Regarding creta, i would prefer interior of I20 over creta, as interior of creta is very ordinary.

I sold my Astor CVT Savy Red after using for a month driven for 3400kms with 3 lakhs loss. Further i request don't go for mg astor CVT. ADAS features not at all usable for indian road conditions.You will definitely regret if you take mg astor. Mileage was very poor. City 8 to 10 , highway 13 to 14 kms. Don't expect mileage more than that.

Teen log aram se 600 km ghoom ke aa gaye koi prblm nahi hain...yes creta and sheltos has tht prblm when people cme out from the car they hold their back... But base model kharid ke dikhao to maane. They are not even taking new bookings for it now, it was just a marketing gimmick to beat Creta/ Seltos on paper.

And then, because of that, lack of cooled seats becomes another issue as well. Rest everything is NOT decision altering stuff.

Yes overall I felt this car is very good, only one issue is the engine does not give good punch with 110 hp and 144nm torque....

I have booked style variant now. Is it worth it still? Any things i need to be aware of?
I own a Landcruiser prado and i can say that these issues are not issues. This is the design level of MG and these are infront of the customers when they test ride it.
If some components fail to work properly those are issues.
Have you tried adding black film on sunroof to avoid sunlight?
MG doesn't offer any such thing. You can try it in the market outside
Hi. Good video on the misses and agree with all of them. I got my Astor cvt last week.
Since I’m a sedate driver the engine seems fine. At higher Rpm it’s not super silent but nothing one can’t live with. Honestly India mein to sustain a car above 3000/3500 rpm is impossible owing to speed cameras.
My major miss is the boot space :(

Great review, wish it came with English subtitles. I do agree the ignition button and indicators lever on the left side is inconvenient. My 4 year old can easily access the ignition button while driving, imagine that!

Yes, nothing beats Astor in base models. But base model bookings are stopped as far as I know. Maybe it was just for marketing

They are entertaining client interested in electronic feature rich variants , lower variant model they are least bother to sell or deliver. I had worse experience with them after waiting for nine months with no commitment towards delivery.

Depends on what you are looking for. Go for Astor if you need more power and space, go for Brezza if you need Maruti's mileage, trust and support network.

MG is not really known for its engines, so I am not very hopeful. You can wait for a facelift or you can try other options. If you just need new interiors, the new Seltos is quite qood. Otherwise Creta and Kushaq are proven workhorses in this segment.

Hi bro, because of IC chip shortage MG people released new EX sharp version which missing some features like traction control, electronic stability control, blind spot and hill assist. We already booked sharp but they were asking us to take EX varient. So is it good to take EX now without these features since they are missing in and 20k price was less compared to sharp normal variants, Can u suggest me
Out of these four features, three are quite important for vehicle safety - traction control, electronic stability control and hill assist. If the price difference is just 20k, my suggestion will be to refuse this offer. In this age, traction control and ESC are quite standard and important things.

I bought Astor savvy , this month, but facing battery issue. If i don't drive or start the vehicle for 12 days ,then battery goes dead, so much so that remote key won't work and volt metre reads only 3.55 volt charge in battery. Have you experienced anything like this? Is it normal? Please reply.

Bruh seltos doesn't have 360 camera at Astors price range. Also most of the stuff mentioned in this video can be retrofitted. Seeing that Seltos is a 2star (no its not a 3star, its a 2 star) and creta is ugly af(next gen creta looks nice though). Astor is the only option available in this segment that looks like it belongs here. Taigun has amazing engine but everything else looks cheap. Kushaq still has all the issues and interior quality is as good as that of Maruti.
Ventilated seats, autodimming orvms, 360cam,under thigh support,wireless charger, sunglass holder are cheap to retrofit.
Sound system, yeah its gona cost a bit if one has to replace it.
The only definite problems with Astor is the weird placement of buttons, lack of telescopic steering.
MG couldave made the useless HEAD an optional accessory and couldave gave us any of the necessary features (Ventilated seats wouldave been better).
Seltos has 360 cam in top 2 modela, here not even in top model.
And, lot of these things are not even available as accessories, back lights, wireless connectivity, sunroof tint etc. My job to talk about missing things, even if they can be retrofitted, it will be extra charge to the buyers.

This is not a comparison video with Seltos, I just quoted that example. This video is to show all the things Astor has missed so that a prospective buyer can take an educated call.
One of the main reason why people are willing to pay above 15 lakhs for a car is it’s drive quality. Astor is after all a Chinese car. Just like any Chinese phone it has plenty of features but none of those are of high quality. It has only mid range, the engine performance is quite poor, and too much body roll. For example, if you want to buy a pricey phone, would you buy an mi phone for 65k or iPhone 13 mini? If you want features you can buy a cheap car with loaded features not the one around 20 lakhs. Please go for European cars, their drive quality is unmatched, they have high resale values and quality where it’s required and not on some gimmicky features. Taigun and Kushaq are same cars except for styling and some interior features. You go can go for either of them and they give amazing drive quality.

I have done 3 TD of Astor and its drive quality is 10x better than that of seltos. Seltos has stiff suspension and long rides in Seltos over bad roads would make you tired a lot more faster than a ride on Astor.
The body roll is negligible. We are talking about Astor, not Hector. I tried taking a curve at ~80kmph and i didn't feel any body roll thats dangerous.
Seltos and Creta, have you seen the internal diagrams of those cars? Seltos has ABSOLUTELY NO Extra High Density Steel. It has some minor amount of High Density Steel, majority of the car is built with basic steel.
Creta has a bit more Extra High Density Steel than Seltos but only for driver side underpinning. Majority is still basic steel.
If you think Koreans give a crap about Indians, take a look at the internal diagrams of Seltos and Creta sold outside Indian n that of Indian made.
About Europeans, we got Skoda and VW at 20L, Tiguan and Kushaq. Both has subar built quality and their DSG gear boxes are just upgraded versions of DQ200 which is notorious for complete failure in less than 50000Km. (Replacing DSG mechatronix costs 75K + Labour charges).
Outside India, in several countries VW and Skoda gives 25yr/unlimited warranty for these gearboxes. In India, you get 1Lakh or 5yr warranty.
Now...what do you think? China bad but Korean/European good?

No Creta ...its has 3 rating at global level and pick up power should also b good with some genuine features. After watching your video I drop the idea of buying Top model Astor at cost around 17 lakh.
If you want an SUV, but not Creta/ Seltos, only thing remaining are Kushaq/ Taigun. Both have good build quality but don't expect too many features like Creta.
If you are willing to look beyond SUVs, I would suggest Honda City top second top model is a great option. Again, you will miss some gadgetry of Creta but overall a great car.
Astor work Shop mai le Jane ke 10 days Tak company parts available nahi karati hai , means ek baar workshop mai gaye to 10-15 days ke liye bhool jao ki aap car owner hai, hire taxi when you are giving to workshop
Truly said, the MG says features based but misses the small necessary features, the switches in steering are better in my TV remote controls. It looks so weird. XUV300 is far far better on focusing the main features and quality.

I didn't think that the cooling had any issues even at the back seat. We test drove in 47 degree may heat of rajasthan with sunroof model. In fact no other car had such good back seat cooling.

I don't understand people like you. I have mentioned multiple times that Astor is a good car and this is not a full review, this is just a list of problems reported in the car. Yet, people like you will treat this as a full review and ask for XYZ feature not being mentioned. If you want features video or comparisons with other cars, check other videos I have done on the channel.
Wtf is this guy talking about the rear space being cramped? The rear has plenty of space for a long drive and is quite comfortable. Of course you cant compare the comfort of a sedan to an SUV, however, for a sub compact SUV standard the rear seats are quite good. Also, the AC is perfect, I have driven a Kushaq and Seltos, however found the Astor AC better than the others. Paddle shifters are not necessary as you do have tiptronic transmission in the car which can also be quite fun to use if you know how.

While the car has AI and modern features and boasts of best in class infotainment , it's unable to fix basic USB feature like folder scan. Even in Hector it has the same issue. Songs stored in multiple folders in USB stick cannot be played based on your choice as there is no folder scan option. All songs gets mixed up and it plays in a system driven random order!
It's a basic USB feature available on all mp3 players and entry level cars. It's unfortunate that a hifi car like this is unable to provide basic features while it boasts of AI.

Astor is a good choice if you like the ADAS features and 360 deg cam. If you don't see value in those features, then it is not for you. Also, if you have frequent travelling with 5 people, it will not be enough.
Go through my features video and problems video and then prioritize the features you need and the problems you care about. Then make the decision.

I have personally ridden this car multiple times and also the competitors, so my comments on the mentioned points is as under:
1. Quick Acceleration: Yes, I agree, Acceleration not as quick as competitors. But not bad at all.
2. Noise on high RPMs: May not be the case.
3. Soft Suspension: Competitors ride like they pass on the feel of each and every pebble on road to the passengers. So this car is best in terms of comfort.
4. Less rear seat space: I agree.
5. Window height is high: Not a big difference in height as compared to competition.
6. AC weak: Completely disagree. Best in class AC.
7. Less Utility features: I agree. But not a major issue.
8. Sound System: Completely disagree. Best in class Sound System. Better than Bose, JBL.
9. Ergonomic issues: Not much uncomfortable.
10. 360 degree cam: Its good actually.
11. JIO sim: Competitors have no SIM.
12. One plus: Is compatible.

I booked Sharp + O, CVT. I hope I didn’t make a wrong choice, given that I live in bangalore and most of my journey will be here in city, engine should not be an issue for me i feel.
Yeah, for city engine shouldn't be an issue. Just check the city mileage once though, with the infamous Bangalore traffic, this might be a genuine thing to watch out for.

The title of this video is misleading. Issues and problems speak to actual mechanical, electric or electronic faults with the car, like defective parts, software bugs etc.
Talking about features it doesn't have, while valuable to know, are not issues with a car. You would have known all these things when checking out the car before buying it. If you still bought it, then it was a conscious decision to buy despite the shortcomings.
The idea is to let viewers know about these things before they make a decision. Unfortunately, most reviewers only talk about the good things and not the bad ones, this video is just an attempt to do that.

Seltos and Astor can't be compared..Seltos has no safety, while Astor is best build..Regarding creta, i would prefer interior of I20 over creta, as interior of creta is very ordinary.

Further i request don't go for mg astor CVT. ADAS features not at all usable for indian road conditions.You will definitely regret if you take mg astor.
Mileage was very poor. City 8 to 10 , highway 13 to 14 kms. Don't expect mileage more than that.
