Im no Manics fan but I have to hand it to JDB...he's one of the best rock voices to come from these shores. I'm also loving Gilson on drums driving this song along. Works at this tempo too. Such a great song.
You put that string arrangement into that with some gusto!. Damn fine cover this turned out to be!. Must go and search out the Stones original of this.
Probably a carlsberg moment, Probably the best cover version out there 👍... I'm not a lover cover version's normally but there are a few very good, if not xcellent version's out there... one I like is FINE YOUNG CANNIBALS, suspicious minds... these 2 are very much up there as the best 👌 👍 😍
Anyone who follows Manics would hear his voice almost straight away it's the way he sings anything like its his own song that makes it special, great singer and front man seen Manics live at least 5 or 6 times and I can honestly say never disappointed ever one of those bands you can guarantee it will be a good night I remember if I remember hearing a new album for the first time live at the round house in London and I'm sure they did umbrella as an oncore was brilliant I was slightly deaf for 3 days standing very close to the front next to a speaker but worth it!
Ah memories.....I recall watching this on New Years Eve at a friend of my husbands house (luckily I'd set the video to tape it). I had to listen to him all the way through it, with gritted teeth, saying how this man (the lovely James) can't sing, how he is ruining this song etc!
What a voice . I'm not taking anything away from Chris Farlow but listen to him sing it live and tell me it's better than this . JDBs voice is so effortless. One of the best live bands IMO
Jack me too I'm a Stones fanatic but James's version here is hypnotic good, maybe it's the higher key he's singing in but I'd love to have seen Mick and him doing a duet of this at one of the recent Hyde Park shows 🔥👏👍
What a brilliant version.James has one of the most beautiful and unique voices and what a guitarist.Thank you James, stay beautiful!!
Love this version ❤
That my friends is a fuckin masterpiece.

Such a brilliant singer, guitarist and lyricist…….. Superb ovals James 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴
Mick and Keef are up there with the greatest songwriters - what a fantastic song this is.
Awesome.....
Love this version

The master jdb nailing a classic

James can sing anything...makes it his own xx
Rubbish. He has a weak voice with a fake American accent. I would have done a better job than him at singing it than him.
no one sings "baby" like him - so good.
Absolutely class,I'm sure Chris Farlowe would approve 👏👍
I think so. 👍
And Jagger and Richards
Chris tough to beat.
Had Amy lived, she would have done this song. It would have been perfection.
Brilliant arrangements and mix....one of the best versions out there:-)
The absolutely brilliant mr James dean bradfield ! Had the pleasure of meeting him after a manics gig recently 😀xx
God it's cool...
This is beautiful
Thank u Quentin!
The combination of and old classic song and MSP and Jools and the band is Just Superb , Chris made it already sound beter then the Stones did.
it´s simply beutiful
Where the hell this come from? I never even knew it exists. Absolutely stunning. JDB totally underrated singer and musician.
Manics covered it on Lipstick Traces
Underrated by who ?

It Is known
beautiful cover
Loved this song since I was a kid and now my musical hero does it great justice, well done old timer
( When did we get old?)
The guy , quite simply is a Genius !!

The Stones recorded it first and Chris Farlowe a few months later. Which Mick Jagger helped produce.
OH my God..he sounds very good... but ochestra and back vocal make him sound special!
JDB is very, very special…..he is absolutely BRILLIANT!!! 🏴🏴🏴
Nope. he's got a wonderfully versatile voice.
Amazing Timeless tune.. like to hear a brian Johnson and graham bonnet version, 😀, chris farlow edges it for me on this one
Love James' dance moves at 2.19 !!!
Cracking cover this, which always has me coming back. Plus why do violinists always look like they'd be up for a good time :)
Any time I see a band with a string section, my eyes always go to the violinists...
I've posted the question elsewhere, which is why are classical musicians so sexy?
@@markfahey3921 My theory is they portray the image of "Forbidden Fruit" and we always want what we can't have!
And make me melt *sigh*
Not bad !!!!!
Very, very good cover ...
Fantastic cover
Absolutely. Grandissim. Respect

and the Ramones covered it too
For me, Chris Farlowe's interpretation of this Rolling Stones song is still the better one
Wow 10,000+ views and no dislikes
fucking epic
this band just doesn't get any dislikes i know why.
Chris farlowe version for me
What a voice . I'm not taking anything away from Chris Farlow but listen to him sing it live and tell me it's better than this . JDBs voice is so effortless. One of the best live bands IMO
I am a Stones fan 'but' this is the best version yet , fantastic backing too.

Last Christmas :D
@kidintheriot83 It sure was!
...wasn't it Chris Farlowe that did this? Before the Stones and Ramones?
no,stones did it on aftermath, then mick helped chris farlowe to have a hit with it
mick and keith wrote it on aftermath, chris farlowe covered it & released it as a singlel
@@robertommundsen9155 the stones wrote it
@AwesomeNoise
Last Christmas :D
(because I hate this Song, lol)
no, never
It's a good version.But,vocally,the one I prefer,it's Tina Turner's one.
His accent on baby is dreadful. Only an English person should sing this.
you do mean a cockney maybe!!! lol
Chill out. Just enjoy the song or go to another page.
