The saddest part is the Star Religious Group would’ve still gotten what they wanted if they didn’t have Riko killed, since she ended up deciding not to assimilate
It really sucks… particularly since Riko explicitly wasn’t a chosen one of any kind- she just happened to have the most potential as a vessel. So she wasn’t destined to become one with Tengen… it was just a matter of convenience for Jujutsu Society
Im not lying when I say this but the moment riko's head blew off and toji appeared, I was laughing like crazy. The main reason is that I was genuinely happy that toji focused on completing the job and actually shot riko unlike some other anime characters who won't use gun for some reason or their gun never works in times of need. And when I watched the ep again, I realised toji purposely used gun and hid the inventory curse inside himself otherwise geto would sense him coming. Toji became my fav after this. He chopped gojo like a true assassin would. I didn't care much about riko because I never felt attached to her.
Toji might have absolutely incredible physical abilities, but if he only relied on them he would have never been able to kill Riko, or let alone injure Gojo. He trusts his own skills, but he knows how and when it's best to use them and when they're not enough on their own, as witnessed by the fact that he knew exhausting Gojo to the point he dropped Infinity would give him a much bigger chance of defeating him, as well as using swarms of cursed spirits in order to ambush him. He's just a beast.
Honestly, BY FAR my favorite shot of the entire anime is that scene of Geto immediately after Amanai got shot. Seeing the sweet smile on his face slowly fall away and be replaced with dawning realization, shock, and horror at seeing such a sweet girl die right in front of him out of nowhere.
"kind of life Maki" almost *exactly* like Maki as they both have the same pact. Although there's a hint about the difference between Maki and Toji in season 1 if you ever want to theorise why Toji is much faster and stronger but you don't have to look for it, following the show normally is fine.
@@kelkellys this is not a spoiler, since it was stated in season 1 I think. Maki has way less cursed energy than the average sorcerer, in exchange she has superhuman phisical abilities. Toji has no cursed energy whatsoever, so his heavenly pact is "stronger".
They really had us at the ending there. Riko's monologue, Geto's smile, the beautiful music building up ... only to be immediately cut off after she gets shot out of nowhere. While JJK S1 had its fair share of dark moments, the second season takes it to the next level. To a point where we actually doubt if the main characters are even gonna come out of it alive in the end.
Toji has a heavenly pact. This isn't something you choose to do, it is something you are just born with. So you're right in that he is like Maki, but Maki has a small amount of cursed energy for great physical abilities. Toji has literally zero cursed energy, so his physical ability is just so much greater. Also with Gojo, yes this is a much less experienced Gojo who has to do everything manually with his technique, that modern Gojo doesn't.
@@Vexizz okay I think you need to reword or delete that as you're spoiling future events. I didn't spoil anything, I just said the differences between Toji and Maki as they were talking about it and this is the current state of the story as they know it
In his entire career of being the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer of the modern age, Gojo only ever lost to one man. That man’s name was Toji Fushiguro, the sorcerer with no Cursed Energy whatsoever.
All living things contain a small degree of cursed energy, even non sorcerers and animals, (they just can’t utilize/control it) which is why Toji having ZERO is such a big deal. He’s practically invisible to sorcerers which makes him perfect for assassinating them. Also, I know many others have already mentioned this, but it’s important so I’ll repeat it: Heavenly pacts are pacts forced upon someone at birth, the person has no say in it at all. Maki, Mechamaru, and Toji are examples of this. Regular pacts are formed between two people for mutual self interest like Sukuna states in episode 6 of the 1st season.
13:32 In the jjk world, heavenly pacts aren’t something you can chose to have. You’re born with it. Like Mechamaru and his really bad body but crazy Cursed Energy and range of technique.
I love how Toji walks on scene, absolutely DOG WALKS the two strongest sorcerers in the world, and leaves. And this is him when he’s rusty, not in his prime. Imagine how badly he’d drag his balls across their faces if he was at his peak lmao
7:40 toji was the catch.. he actually had to intervene with the star religious group who hired him. they where about to screw up his plan and timing.. his entire strategy of the deadline.
I love seeing the reactions to this episode, especially the shot scene. Imagine reading this and having to wait a week for the next chapter. In the manga, the scene was just as quick and cold, but here the animators were clever, adding a special touch by introducing the “Ending”, which gave it a hopeful air. (This was dedicated to those who don’t read the manga). It’s common in anime that when the “Opening or Ending plays”, it's interpreted that everything will turn out fine. The animators skillfully played with this expectation, using it to give more impact to the plot twist. Truly brilliant.
Something that it’s confusing on heavenly pacts/restrictions is that the person doesn’t make the pact themselves it’s a 50/50 on if you’re born with one and it’s another 50/50 on the one you get, huge example is Toji here with a physical boost with no curse energy, and mechamaru with no physical boost/missing limbs but curse energy boost
Just found the channel, love the reaction so far. Someone might’ve said this already but in the manga, they explain that the chain toji was using is cursed. It has the ability to stretch for 1000 miles as long as the end of it, isnt shown
Mechamaru has textually said it on-screen, and I'm pretty sure I've seen people reminding them before. But since they watch other shows between episodes they forget how the power system works often.
Kenny: "Riko getting shot was defnitly the most shocking moment of the entire series" The fanbase: "oh boy! you better fasten your seat belts for the rest of the season"
slight correction a heavenly pact is different from a binding vow a binding vow is a conscious decision, you make a promise in exchange for something, like Nanami's overtime, he vows to only use 80% of his max power while on the clock and in exchange can use 120% of his max power while off the clock a heavenly pact/heavenly restriction is something you are just born with and have no say in. like maki having almost no cursed energy but being very strong in exchange
Does anyone else see Kenny and Montana as the married version of Haibara and Nanami or is that just me? Both Kenny and Haibara have a golden retriever-like personality and both Nanami and Montana remind me of a smart, anxious, quiet cat that's just done with most people and now just wants to relax. Their hair color isn't helping either.
To clear some confusion, Maki was said have very little cursed energy less than an average person, while Toji has non at all. That's probably the reason he is much stronger than her although they have the same heavenly restriction
for people thinking of pacts and heavenly pact similar they are not. Pacts are made by sorcerers voluntarily to gain something but heavenly pacts are forced on the person during birth naturally. They can be both good and bad and their conditions can not be controlled. With Toji and Mai it is they got 0 curse energy but in exchange they got a superhuman body. For mechamaru his skin become so thin that it cant even stay under gentle moonlight but in exchange he got a high boost of range and curse energy. In both case it is not them making the pact but it is forced on them by heaven.
The dub messed up and called them heavenly pacts. What they actually are is a heavenly restriction. The official name clears any possible misunderstanding. Them going with heavenly pact gives the audience the impression they chose it.
Toji was probably in his early twenties when he first went to see Gojo, and Gojo was probably only around 6-8. Toji actually isn’t THAT old, if you think about it Gojo is right around Toji’s age right now in current day. By this time though where Gojo and Geto are 16 about to be 17, Toji is probably in his early thirties, I’m guessing 30 on the dot. Ages are kinda tough in JJK lmao.
I think people point out to watch the Ending song bc of the fish. Male betta fish known to be aggressive just by looking to other male in seperated aquarium and they need to be seperated often. Geto is black fish with frayed fins which indicates Betta fish is sick/rotten, while Gojo is the white fish is healthy with big intacted fins. Frayed fins also can be happened bc of torn out after fighting with other male fish. You can see where's this is going with this info for both of them
I hope at least Kenny reads this. But Heavenly Restrictions are a random pact forced on a person at birth. They have no say in it whatsoever, be it in which way it goes or it's effects. And I think much of their confusion with it stems from the wording the Dub went with since calling it a Pact indicates some sort of agency, and that is not the case. Although the mechanics of it are similar to a Binding Vow, Heavenly Restrictions are not a conscious thing by any means. Mechamaru had a severe instance of a Heavenly Restriction, which gave him enormous amounts of Cursed Energy and an innate, highly precise control over it over a very large area (which is what likely boosted his Cursed Technique to the level we see it at only 17) but in turn gave him poor health and a ultra weak body. Maki, and to some degree by extention Mai (since sorcery sees twins as a single entity), also have a Heavenly Restriction, giving her extremely low levels of Cursed Energy and in turn superhuman physical prowess. Toji has an unprecedented type of Heavenly Restriction, where he has absolutely no Cursed Energy, being seen by sorcery as essentially an inanimate object, and in turn he has the most powerful human body we've seen so far. Hence why Gojo couldn't perceive him even with the Six Eyes, which gives him a thermal vision of sorts. Spoilers from here: Heavenly Restricions may run in the Zen'in clan since there are two occurrences in very close proximity since Maki is only a year older than Megumi, who is Toji's son. Both of them, being from such a powerful sorcerer family, might have some correlation to the severity of their Heavenly Restrictions, but that is just a personal theory. Also, what I said about Mai being affected by Maki's Heavenly Restriction is also a theory, but as we know that Mai's existence interfeered with Maki, the contrary could be true as well, and it might explain her unusually low reserves of Cursed Energy for a sorcerer with an Innate Technique. Construction is absolutely an inefficient Technique, but as we see with Yorozu during the Culling Game, had Mai had a larger reserve of Cursed Energy, she might have found a way to optimize her Technique like Yorozu, although not to the same level, probably, given her general disinterest for Jujutsu.
When on the plane, if you look to the side of Geto, Toji was asleep 1 person over. Also Toji's physical prowess is Maki's potential if she can make the heavenly pact
That wasnt toji. It was just a dude with a similar hairstyle. The heavenly restriction, not pact, isn't something you can just do yourself. You're born with it. Toji was born the way he is and the restriction wasn't something he was given out of a choice
At 29:03 , Kenny mentioned that Toji Fushiguro is like a shadow. I've never realized that until now. Funny how Megumi has the Ten Shadow, the prized cursed technique of the Zenin clan (like Six Eyes of Gojo clan). I also love your comparison between Maki and Toji. I've always seen her as Toji Lite lol Edit: Limitless, not Six Eyes
gojo’s a tsundere he’s been looking out for riko’s safety the entire time but he was shut down for the plot and bc ppl misunderstood him as inconsiderate when he was just trying to prevent this. he stayed up for days wearing himself out and was the one to suggest fighting tengen to prevent the assimilation in the first place. he’s honestly the sweetest.
Montana: Maybe there is something else than curses, like magic Kenny: no, he is just naturally strong Guys lol pay attention, Toji himself said he has a heavenly restriction, which was explained before. In exchange for zero cursed energy, one with that pact is gifted with super human strength, speed and durability etc
He mentioned that, though, pretty sure that's what Kenny meant. Naturally and it not being magic just might not be the right words, but he meant he got strong without any cursed energy, as Kenny said during the episode.
Montana got it right. Those are Betta fish. They live in shallow waters. They're beautiful beings, of the same species, but you can't have them in the same area because they'll kill each other instinctually.
I mean the last part of the episode was a shocking moment after another, first Gojo then Riko, your reaction was exactly mine when I watched the episode. I guess from now on you can realized what caused Geto changing till JJK 0.
Weird how every jjk fan calls him Toji yet these two call him fushiguro . Really wish u guys watched sub versions and get the intended vocal lines and tones the characters were meant to have
Somewhere out there is a very sad or very happy Jujutsu Sorcerer who's innate ability is creating monstrous amounts of krill from cursed energy. Their Domain Expansion is "5000 Leagues: Lavish Depths", which creates a huge ocean environment that looks like a sizeable aquarium from the outside.
As a manga reader, I remember freaking when I realized that they started playing the ed right before what I knew was about to happen. But honestly, I'm still fascinated by how tragic this moment was. Because really, it was all completely meaningless. Riko dies despite the whole reason for her being assassinated already was solved.hard not to imagine how something like this would weigh on everyone involved
Man, I skipped this episode (at least the latter half of it) when I was watching season 2 because I was THAT distraught by it when I read it in the manga. But I had to see your reactions. This breaks my heart every time, genuinely did not like what happened.
There is just one point you both missed and that is it's younger gojo who is still not so good with his techniques. It's not the older version of gojo fighting toji.
I hate the fact that they keep mistranslating “we’re the strongest” Gojo and Geto several times even twice this episode say “we’re the strongest” but it’s translated as “we’re the strongest jujutsu sorcerers at this school” or “no one is strong enough to stop us”. In Season one, episode 2 it was mistranslated as “I’m way too strong for him” when talking about sukuna. There’s a theme that Gojos thing in the future is “im the strongest” and now I’m he past it’s “we’re the strongest”
Bro, i don't know why the directors chose to make those changes in moments that clearly should be said in a particular way because that hides a deep meaning. Feels like nobody wach the show. They just got the subtitles/texts and adapted everything that didn't mach the animation

Seeing Toji gives me hope for my girl Maki, I feel like she has potential to be as good as Toji since they are the same with having 0 cursed energy.
maki still has some cursed energy which is why she is significantly physically so far in the anime
Spoilers from here:
Heavenly Restricions may run in the Zen'in clan since there are two occurrences in very close proximity since Maki is only a year older than Megumi, who is Toji's son.
I've always seen her as Toji Lite lol
Edit: Limitless, not Six Eyes
The cursed technique of the Gojo clan is Limitless, the Six Eyes are not a technique they're a genetic trait.
@@laurainathunderstorm ooof my bad. Yes limitless. Six eyes is an innate attribute inherited within the Gojo clan. Thank you for the correction!
All I can say is...I'm so glad ya'll are enjoying the show so far. Can't wait till the next movie/season 3 is announced!
Toji's ability is that he's him, I'm afraid
gojo’s a tsundere he’s been looking out for riko’s safety the entire time but he was shut down for the plot and bc ppl misunderstood him as inconsiderate when he was just trying to prevent this. he stayed up for days wearing himself out and was the one to suggest fighting tengen to prevent the assimilation in the first place. he’s honestly the sweetest.
24:42 the fish are so important. the fish make people cry. the fish have so many meaning.
He didn’t MAKE a heavenly pact…bruh this was recorded ages ago why am….comment for the UA-cam algorithm boost 🎉.
The less cursed energy you have, the stronger your heavenly pack is. Give and take. And Toji has zero.
Gojo from this episode doesn't have as much skill as the current Gojo we all know and love, but you'll get an explanation soon
Montana: Maybe there is something else than curses, like magic
Kenny: no, he is just naturally strong
Guys lol pay attention, Toji himself said he has a heavenly restriction, which was explained before.
Really wish u guys watched sub versions and get the intended vocal lines and tones the characters were meant to have
Toji is basically Maki at her absolute potential.
This episode was really Mind opening...
Ppl do NOT choose there Heavenly Pact 👏👏👏
For sure, sorry if we didn’t make that clear but we def know that! Must have misspoke :)
The ending will never not be chilling to me ;-;
Toji was stone cold for that and did not hold back any punches
Montana made a major plot prediction and it didn’t get added to the counter and I can’t say anything because it’s a major spoiler lol
While lots of anime get brutal something about gojo brutal stabbing and her just getting shot down in the hall. Just hits on a different level
FINALLY! Reviews watching it in English dub!
29:43 the only magic Toji has, is that he’s just that dude you don’t wanna mess with 😂😂😂
And gun. The most powerful magic. Gun.
@@szandorkane6372 using that good ol America magic
Crazy how different it feels sub.
One of my favorite episodes
I forgot they made toji sound like a damn teenager im eng dub 😭😭
I am here! Once again recommending Lycoris Recoil!
(At 8:18) They couldn't even keep great white sharks alive in captivity. How are they able to keep "whale" sharks in captivity?
Somewhere out there is a very sad or very happy Jujutsu Sorcerer who's innate ability is creating monstrous amounts of krill from cursed energy. Their Domain Expansion is "5000 Leagues: Lavish Depths", which creates a huge ocean environment that looks like a sizeable aquarium from the outside.
H-H-H-H-HEADSHOT!!!
The time is here when Strongest sorcerer of modern age is going to Awaken 🔥
As a manga reader, I remember freaking when I realized that they started playing the ed right before what I knew was about to happen. But honestly, I'm still fascinated by how tragic this moment was. Because really, it was all completely meaningless. Riko dies despite the whole reason for her being assassinated already was solved.hard not to imagine how something like this would weigh on everyone involved
Welcome to the episode that changed the whole series 🥲
You said Toji is kinda like Maki with no Curse energey. True, but Toji is more like physically perfected Maki
just wait for s3
@@Qtlika yeah
Toji is THE GOAT!
You can never trust this show's intros
As strong as toji is, do not assume present gojo would lose to him, he was arrogant inexperienced and still haven't perfected his cursed technique
Every anime's beach episode ☺️⛱️🌊
Jujutsu Kaisen's beach episode 💀😵🩸
People are born with heavenly packs
Riko's brain has left the chat
you see in this episode that megumi is not even close to being as strong as his father
What was that beautiful cosy rich brown fur on your knees?♥️🐈 I would like to pet it so much!❤ Love so much cats! How many do you own?
Toji is what Maki will be if she attains full control and gets awakened.... And also Toji is Maki's cousin
gojo was so high he started talking quoting sun wukong Next EP
When did he quote Son Wukong? The heaven and earth line is a Buddha quote as far I'm aware
Finally someone reacts to the dub instead of Japanese
Pls see chapter 17 of the Blu-ray. It has more extended fights and more animation.
1st time i heard someone was calling toji a fushiguro tf
D'angelo Junctions
💙🌌I hope you use the Blu-ray version, there are many better details in the drawing and improvements from the studio. 🌠💜
Tyrese Extensions
I’m just gonna post this to a few videos:
Plz react to Murder Drones by GLITCH
Toji is the goat! JJK is the best new gen idc what anyone says lol
(At 8:40) daydreaming?
