MINI Plant Oxford has received a top visitor attraction award from the official national tourism agency for England.
The plant, which builds more than 1,000 MINIs each day, has been recognised by VisitEngland with a ‘Best Told Story Accolade’ for its factory tour, which gives visitors a behind the scenes look at how this iconic British car is made.
MINI Plant Oxford is a member of VisitEngland’s Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme, which represents a wide range of tourism experiences across England, from museums and galleries, farm attractions, historic houses and gardens to churches, cathedrals and country parks. - Авто та транспорт

I had a 2008 clubman, 2014 Cooper s, and now am getting a 2019 jcw!!!

It's a symbol of Britain, engineered (not designed by us though) in Britain, built by British workers and is sold internationally
@@bruceburns1672 mini are one of the only brand that kept the same soul in their showcase car during decades. So for me even if its detained by bm its the only British car I can afford. And really glad

aware of its own existence as it's being built. When it's sitting there and it gets its wheels and engine it's like a bird that gets its wings and it finally knows what it's born to do.

noo hall also built by stoned Indians and Pakistanies and eastern Europe agency workers ,all on a zero hrs. contract ...this is the truth I have delivered there .... and the rear sub frames are terrible just bent tubular water traps ...good luck ....

I wish their paint coating gets a bit thicker, the paint for 2016 coopers are chipped way too easily

Can also confirm that on my '14 Cooper S... Sadly I have a stone chip in the bonnet and you can se the metal really good... i need to fix that soon!
Mind you the way they go about cat lick renewing of road surfaces leaving cars to embed the chippings into the surface doesn't exactly help a cars life of remaining stone chip free any more than the pot holes and craters, I am sure a good polish helps considerably to deflecting stone chips and scratches though.
I had an Audi 1999 A4, the paint was virtually non existant on that.

Maybe if they move the production out of England to Mexico,the cost would be reduced and results 👍 will be better. Mexican workmanship for making automobiles is the best in the world.

A long way indeed from the old Longbridge or Cowley works with all those strikes and labour problems. Again, it is a lot to do with BMW’s “Teutonic Efficiency” and “Process Orientation”.

The road isn’t a race track. All versions have enough power for what they are designed to do.
@@oddities-whatnot It also depends on your driving style and where you live. Mini are fun cars, especially with great power. My countryman s run at 340hp and 350tq. Every day I'm glad I did the modification, mostly because I do long-distance driving always.

The robot which constructed my 2005 Cooper S needs to be disassembled and sold for scrap.
Alfred Valrie I must have had a different robot . My 2005 S is still way more fun to drive than my BMW X3 or my 1960 Triumph TR3A.
I remember taking my father to a car sales place they ordered a job lot of new cars and my father got his Ford KA 25% cheaper than when we sat down at the main dealer it just had the company that bought the job lot as the first owner.
I know it pays well but I really couldn’t work on a production line.

The rise of the machines - TBH I'm sort of glad industrial robots are putting together my Mini - even the most detailed and dedicated workers can miss things every so often and it's not something I'd like to do for 8 or 10 hours a day....

I would rather see a production line with humans doing the assembly works. How many people are out of a job because of automation?

I see plenty of people assembling these cars. If you think it's so easy to build these cars, let's see you do it. Don't forget to post the video.
Trouble is we tried that in the midlands but then the 60s and 70s happened. Workforce V BL = together they killed the native car industry. Better with robots every inch of the way.
With some of the jobs the robots are doing, you certainly wonder if they're saving any time or money using them its almost as if they got carried away with an obsession of using them.

Presumably, BMW think that if they put those ridiculous oversized "cartoon" rear light clusters on, the car will look smaller rather than the over weight, over blown monstrositiess that they have become!
Small lights no good in dark. Think of the old Defender ! If you dont like Mini, why bother commenting ? Baffling.

Good looking car but overpriced here in UK. Parts and servicing are over the roof. Engine quality is not great over time.
that PEUGEOT-CITROEN/MINI 1.6 THP ENGINE is not that reliable, mostly of them has manifold gasket leak problem, the BMW B-series engine is way better and more reliable...

Very spooky and worrying. Not just one single human! I remember those days when workmanship was huge. In Latin America and some other very poor places all over the world, automation results very expensive so they will decide to go for the "African" force. Maybe that's not very bad at all.
These are not MINI's.
They are BMW Minis and should not be compared with the real Mini's made by BMC.
The only thing "Mini" about them is the name.

And like alot of German cars Overpriced , un- necessary Over engineered I as a Mechanic think it's a Terrible Motor . Much prefer Honda, Toyota and even hyundai these will out last that mini.
Yes the old Mini, I had one. No airbags, uncomfortable seats with no head rests, 41 bhp engine, rusting subframe. Yes I can see why you prefer the old one.
