- Flood of 1995
In 1995, Geelong experienced the third-worst flood in the Barwon River's history.
The flood began on November 5 with three days of rain.
The Barwon River peaked in Geelong between 9pm and midnight on November 7, when the water level reached 5.23 metres on the MacIntyre Footbridge near Riverview Terrace.
This was the third largest flood of the Barwon River in 150 years.
The maribyrnong river also flooded at the Keilor Market gardens & down stream from Maribyrnong that year!. I think it was the second or third biggest flood. Thankyou for posting rare footage.
I wish there was more footage or photos online of the 95 floods...I was only 11 but I remember it
Love the bathing F12! Was this shot in 1995? Then that F12 was pretty new, right? Thumbs up mate!
