Good clear video as always. Keep it up! After installing a new clutch and flywheel, the mechanic accidentally misaligned the flywheel. Vehicle idled poorly and would not rev past 2,000 rpm. In his ignorance he swapped out the throttle body with one from a Frontier. Of course he had the same issue. He pulled the transmission again and aligned the flywheel correctly. Upon start-up vehicle " hunted" for idle between 700 and 2000 rpm! Attempted throttle relearn many, many times . Vehicle would not accept!! Eventually took vehicle to dealership, they completed a relearn. At a cost of $150 Canadian! I think it's important that people know there is a potential that you will not be able to complete a throttle relearn in your garage.
My reman Cardone TB is on the way via Amazon. Thanks to you Ry for the heads up on the reman. Price has gone up to $138 like everything else we buy (tires are at insane prices) but still nowhere close to $770! Cardone does offer a "new" one vs the reman but the whole thing is built and made in China. I'll stick with a reman Japanese. Your videos are just like having a visual factory service manual to do stuff the right way.
On my 07 X the hose on the front of the throttle body has a slit going all the way along the side. It looks deliberate. What would you call that hose? I’m having a hard time finding it.
Great video thank you. I had intermittent lumpy/rough idling. Did diagnostics and gave P1122, which points at this throttle controller. So great to see how to swap it out. Thanks again!

I had this problem in my 2007 pathfinder 2 years ago and bought a reman part now it came back and warranty over. I did have a question when you remove the part do you disconnect the battery or leave it? Last time we disconnect and when we tried to erase the code it wouldnt had to take it to a mwchanic who uses a more high tech machine
I have a 06 Nissan Pathfinder, cleaned throttle body, put back together and it started idling around 1K, then check engine light. I tried doing the 3 procedures to reset and relearn the TB about 20 times. No work. Still idled high. Was about to order a new TB and came home the next day from work and decided to try the whole reset and relearn procedure with the engine stone cold. Started it up at the end of procedure 3 like it said, came back after a few minutes and RPMs were idling at 625 RPM! So if you are not having any success with engine and transmission fully warmed up, try it with it COLD!
I just purchased a 2017 Frontier, I do see it and the Eterra are pretty much the same. I do think the idle is high when starting. Will cleaning the Mass Air Flow and throttle body first then going through the rest is best? I didnt see you clean them before the first video on reset.
@Rythecarguy i was trying fix rough idle on my car, cleaned the MAF, throttle body, and new spark plugs as well as throttle body seal and plunum seals. As i was cleaning the throttle body i noticed it wasn't going fully verticle closed. Would that indicate it is worn out and needs to be replaced? Love the channel man and have sent tips in the past for your great value you have provided. Will certainly again!
@rythecarguy Why did you replace the throttle body? What were your issues? I have a high rpm (2500) at startup and relatively high (1100) when warmed up.

Hey Ryan, went to unscrew the throttle body and wasn’t wanting to come off. Working on a budget here, do you know of any good mechanic shops in Orlando that’ll use my part to install the throttle body for a little bit cheaper or another way I can try and get the bolts out without stripping them?
Most automotive shops will use your parts. I actually have my Saab in shop right now and I supplied the fuel pump. It will definitely make the job cheaper since they mark up the parts as well. Throttle body swap should be very cheap. Probably just the one hour minimum
Is the throttle body responsible for my 2005 XTerra going into “limp mode”? It’s driving me crazy trying to track down what is causing it. Some mechanics say, “it’s your oxygen sensor”. Replaced those- still goes into “limp mode”. Another says, “no, it’s the cam-shaft sensor”. A third says it’s my throttle body. So…

Most cars when you start messing with air control will need some sort of programming once you are done. You will just have to check the direction for your car and it will tell you if you have to do it afterward.
question. i have a 2005 frontier (2.5L). i removed the Intake to change spark plugs, change intake gasket and throttlebody gasket. im pretty sure i tightened everything correctly and i believe it was all seated correctly. i cleaned the hell outta the throttle body and stuff with carb cleaner. i sprayed the TB pretty good. cleaned Maf sensor correctly with its special cleaner. now everything is back but the engine idles between 1000 and 2000 rpm (fluctuates pretty hard up and down, up and down in park or neutral....its fine in gear). ive checked for vac leaks with propane, tried relearning the TB a million times, reset the ecu with no luck. any chance spraying the TB pretty good ruined the electronics on the TB somehow?
Scott Drabek did you ever figure out what was wrong with your frontier.im having the same exact issue with mine right now and can’t figure out why it’s idle is doing that.

The bolts coming out in a specific order is called a torque sequence, as is putting them in in reverse. This is done to avoid warping a part.
