Charlie, on the other hand, is completely seperated from the rest of humanity when it comes to family, because of her being the daughter of Lucifer, an angel and Lillith, the first woman who refused Adam's control. So, Charlie, while not actually being part of humanity's lineage, sees them as her family. God, it's so stupid, but I absolutely love when animated shows give humans animalistic body language in fights. Charlie whipping her tail around to make herself appear bigger when faced with a 'predator', Adam doing the same by bringing out his wings to display dominance...it's such a simple element, but it goes such a long way in building tension.

We see her create the weapon, so this is the first demonic weapon to actually work on angels. And a high-ranking one at that. It just needed a more capable wielder.
I think not really, the show never said that you cant injure an Angel, you can do the same to other souls, but it makes sense, she didnt want to kill anyone, she made it to just stop Adam not kill him.

To be honest they have long range weapons and still a lot of them prefer melee weapon. So i dont really know what is the logic in weapon of choice. (btw if they had long range holy weapons that didnt overpower "sloppy" angels, that could mean that even if tried to hurt them, they would die before they did, long range not really being effective and them having advantage in melee, cause their weapons were effective, common demonic weapons werent) Even if it wasnt shown in Hazbin Hotel, they have shown existence of holy sniper rifles in Helluva Boss, so yeah.
ok my theory is that since she is a sweety pie(most of the time) she never actually hurted anybody or used her powers so she doesn't know how to use them instead his father might used them many times before, we don't know when or how he became the king of hell but I don't think it happened without violence
She wasn't trained really. She probably had basics but she got that attack on him by surprise. My guess is she's gonna have Vaggie train her next season now that she sees the value in having that knowledge
I can't help but feel like this whole fight shows the opposite. We see glimpses of just how much power Charlie really has, but she seems to have no idea how to use that power.
I disagree that she knows how to fight. But when you’re so obscenely powerful you don’t need to know how to fight as long as you can land a blow. Kind of how a child can kill a spider.
I think it’s the other way around. The reason she struggles is because she doesn’t know how to fight. I think this is the first time in her life that she’s willingly embraced her demonic heritage to attack someone. Notably she’s carrying a shield in the first part of the battle, still mostly concerned with protecting people. She’s strong, she just doesn’t really know it because it’s antithetical to her worldview. She’s a pacifist at heart, so while she’s definitely got the power, she doesn’t really know how to use it, mostly instinct if catching Adam’s punch later is any indication. It can generally be seen in how Charlie fights Adam compared to how Alastor did earlier. Strictly speaking, Alastor landed more hits and took less than Charlie did, but because he’s less powerful he achieved less. Alastor was light on his feet, skilled in controlling his little shadow demons and freely used those tendrils in combat to keep Adam on the back foot until Adam flipped the proverbial board because of the power imbalance. Charlie was mostly on the back foot taking Adam’s beating and catching him by surprise because she’s an order of power much closer to Adam, but with less skill and combat experience.

Some people don't seem to understand that, yes, Charlie is really powerful and has a lot of potential, but she is untrained, and probably due to her sweet and pacifist personality she has never fought before, especially at this level. Adam is not some random jerk, he is a very powerful character and, being both the first man and one of the most ancient characters, he has a lot of experience. So yes, it is obvious that in a short time he overpowered Charlie. Does this mean Charlie is weak? Not at all, it means that now yes, she is strong, but she doesn't know how to fight, if she ever had to train seriously then she would kick everyone's asses
I love how Charlie held back and got really injured fighting Adam, but when she felt her father was at risk she put everything she had into blocking Adam's punch and did so easily, shocking even Adam. A great way to showcase that she only uses her true power to protect others.

Completely out of character and ignores the actual context of the show and the scene. It's far more likely that either Adam was exhausted from repeated combat and getting slapped around from Lucifer, and/or Charlie getting some last-second power boost she didn’t have earlier, not Charlie being sociopathic enough to "hold back" while her friends and family were being actively murdered in front of her.

Adam was the only real threat and when Charlie realized she needed to face him once Pentious died she did. Any kind of killing is the exact opposite of what she wants and clearly she didn't want to kill Adam, I mean why didn't she stab him in the heart with that trident instead of the shoulder area? She is the daughter of one of the most powerful beings in creation. Lucifer > Charlie and Lilith > The Seven Deadly Sins > Ars Goetia > Overlords > Sinners > The Hellborn > Imps and Hellhounds.
Charlie is holding back here. That or she doesnt know how to use her powers. Definitely. She's really powerful and since she probably grew some what alone or sheltered... Yeah. Shes a ticking time bomb.
Guessing she doesn't know her power since she has viewed them as mean and not used them. She sees power used every day by others for control. It's only when Adam pushes her that she realizes it can be used to protect and so she goes for it. She will accept that and grow into her full power over s2 I think. Which they have set up to be against her own mother.

She also never wanted to hurt an excorcist before turning full demonic. I think she was holding back because Vaggie was nearly getting killed, her friends were being overcrowded by angels, Alastor backed down getting injured, and Sir Pentious getting killed.
I was wondering about that. This season could have easily been 12 episodes long, and still felt rushed. I wish we had time to let some of these things breathe a little. One of the major complaints I and many others have about the show is the fact that it throws a lot at you very quickly (probably because Amazon only gave them 8 eps to work with).

It was her first fight. She has fought against using her power for so long she hasn't really explored her capabilities that way. And she was still doing damage to Adam. She is a good leader in that she knows her strengths and when to let others use theirs. Vaggie and Pentious are far better fighters. She doesn't have an ego.

@mulqueen2023 I'm not in the business of head canon. Vaggies tries to get Charlie to use her authority and Charlie says, "but that's so mean." Vaggied says that she never uses the power that comes with her position. Vaggie has been there for a while now, though not as long as Angel. But long enough to know Charlie's past and history. Charlie fights against her power and her authority at every chance since the pilot. She doesn't fight. She is terrified during Ready for This that she is making the wrong decision. She is worried about assuming her place and power. "Gotta come into my own, gotta come into my throne." She is literally saying that now is the time to accept who she is, take her rightful place and authority. Her goal has been to redeem sinners. Now she is literally calling hell to go to war with heaven. In the battle itself she isn't the one calling the shots. Pentious and Vaggie are in control as they clearly ha e more experience in fights. I'm not basing my claim on anything that isn't expressly shown or said in the show. And it isn't even ambiguous. It's pretty clearly spelled out that this is the first time Charlie has led a fight. Yeah, she got into a bit of a brawl with Katie Killjoy, once, but she immediately felt bad about taking her pen and calling her a bitch and was absolutely NOT using her power then. Even when righteously indignant she holds back. You'll see her start to change during Hell is for Ever and You Didn't Know, times when she had every right to be completely angry but she reigns it in both times.
I wish we were shown more of Charlie's full power. After seeing Stolas I think she is still toning it down and does on a daily basis to look more amicable. But look, as someone who has been in her shoes once, there comes a time where all reaches a limit and I hope we see more of that in the future.
Here is a neat thought as the daughter of Lucifer and Lilith she is half angel and half Sinner demon, we see her tap into the darker side of her power like this but can she tap into the more heavenly side of her powers possibly spreading angel wings. If I'm remembering correctly the spawn of an angel and a demon is a Nephilim a powerful combination especially considering her Mother would be considered one of if not the oldest Sinner demon and her father an Archangel.

Adam Amy be a frat boy but he is extremely powerful he’s the first human and I’d bet probably on par if not great in power than Lilith it’s just he’s sloppy and undisciplined like alastor said if any thing this puts Charlie as one of the strongest creatures in hell like she should be since she was able to stop Adam’s punch
To be fair to Charlie, I doubt she has any combat experience, whereas Adam is the Legatus Maximus of the Executioners. Just the fact that she was able to injure him shows she's got some major power. Hell, Alastor even lampshades that, and says he could help her tap into it more easily. Something tells me she's going to have to fight Sera and Lillith next.

She doesn't know how to use them. She has repressed them her whole life because of her innate pacifism and desire to find peaceful cooperation. When she realizes she can use her power to protect rather than be domineering she unleashes. But she lacks training and practice.
Still don’t know where sinners and angels go when they’re killed by angelic weapons. But one thing I find amusing is how in the pilot when Angel and vaggie are arguing in the limo, Angel mentions that he couldn’t die but Vaggie had full capability of killing him.
This world is in desperate need of a reincarnation system of some kind. Also something must happen to them considering Pentious could end up in heaven after supposedly dying.
I really loved this scene! to the fire surrounding to the audible snarl/hiss she gives as she transforms! I was watching this with friends and we literally screamed when this happened. And I said "That's so hot.." And everyone just looked at me with the most hilarious expression. Also the scene between Vaggie and Charlie when they kissed, I literally scream in joy.
This show reminds me of the game Hades if you think about it Charlie and Zagrius are very similar both of them were rejected from Underworld, and have major daddy issues does anyone else see this or am I the only one.
I really hope she’ll get some battle lessons next season. I’d love to see her learn how to fight and actually fight than just having someone else come clean up the mess

one of the reasons why the hotel got off to a bad start was because Charlie was being a little too nice. She was too busy seeing the good in everyone but didn't seem to notice the bad side of things. But with encouragement from her loved ones and releasing her inner demons she was able to take down Adam and make the hotel a success

I think not really, the show never said that you cant injure an Angel, you can do the same to other souls, but it makes sense, she didnt want to kill anyone, she made it to just stop Adam not kill him.

To be honest they have long range weapons and still a lot of them prefer melee weapon. So i dont really know what is the logic in weapon of choice. (btw if they had long range holy weapons that didnt overpower "sloppy" angels, that could mean that even if tried to hurt them, they would die before they did, long range not really being effective and them having advantage in melee, cause their weapons were effective, common demonic weapons werent)

I can't help but feel like this whole fight shows the opposite. We see glimpses of just how much power Charlie really has, but she seems to have no idea how to use that power.
I disagree that she knows how to fight. But when you’re so obscenely powerful you don’t need to know how to fight as long as you can land a blow. Kind of how a child can kill a spider.
I think it’s the other way around.
The reason she struggles is because she doesn’t know how to fight.
I think this is the first time in her life that she’s willingly embraced her demonic heritage to attack someone.
Notably she’s carrying a shield in the first part of the battle, still mostly concerned with protecting people.
She’s strong, she just doesn’t really know it because it’s antithetical to her worldview.
She’s a pacifist at heart, so while she’s definitely got the power, she doesn’t really know how to use it, mostly instinct if catching Adam’s punch later is any indication.
It can generally be seen in how Charlie fights Adam compared to how Alastor did earlier.
Strictly speaking, Alastor landed more hits and took less than Charlie did, but because he’s less powerful he achieved less.
Alastor was light on his feet, skilled in controlling his little shadow demons and freely used those tendrils in combat to keep Adam on the back foot until Adam flipped the proverbial board because of the power imbalance.
Charlie was mostly on the back foot taking Adam’s beating and catching him by surprise because she’s an order of power much closer to Adam, but with less skill and combat experience.

Some people don't seem to understand that, yes, Charlie is really powerful and has a lot of potential, but she is untrained, and probably due to her sweet and pacifist personality she has never fought before, especially at this level. Adam is not some random jerk, he is a very powerful character and, being both the first man and one of the most ancient characters, he has a lot of experience. So yes, it is obvious that in a short time he overpowered Charlie. Does this mean Charlie is weak? Not at all, it means that now yes, she is strong, but she doesn't know how to fight, if she ever had to train seriously then she would kick everyone's asses

It makes sense that Adam is so powerful. Lilith is meant to be second only to Lucifer in Hell, and Adam was made at the same time as her.
Hopefully in S2 She gets to actually be a powerhouse in combat.
I love how Charlie held back and got really injured fighting Adam, but when she felt her father was at risk she put everything she had into blocking Adam's punch and did so easily, shocking even Adam. A great way to showcase that she only uses her true power to protect others.

She is the daughter of one of the most powerful beings in creation.

I think she was holding back because Vaggie was nearly getting killed, her friends were being overcrowded by angels, Alastor backed down getting injured, and Sir Pentious getting killed.

I was wondering about that. This season could have easily been 12 episodes long, and still felt rushed. I wish we had time to let some of these things breathe a little. One of the major complaints I and many others have about the show is the fact that it throws a lot at you very quickly (probably because Amazon only gave them 8 eps to work with).

It was her first fight. She has fought against using her power for so long she hasn't really explored her capabilities that way. And she was still doing damage to Adam. She is a good leader in that she knows her strengths and when to let others use theirs. Vaggie and Pentious are far better fighters. She doesn't have an ego.

@mulqueen2023 I'm not in the business of head canon. Vaggies tries to get Charlie to use her authority and Charlie says, "but that's so mean." Vaggied says that she never uses the power that comes with her position. Vaggie has been there for a while now, though not as long as Angel. But long enough to know Charlie's past and history. Charlie fights against her power and her authority at every chance since the pilot. She doesn't fight. She is terrified during Ready for This that she is making the wrong decision. She is worried about assuming her place and power. "Gotta come into my own, gotta come into my throne." She is literally saying that now is the time to accept who she is, take her rightful place and authority. Her goal has been to redeem sinners. Now she is literally calling hell to go to war with heaven. In the battle itself she isn't the one calling the shots. Pentious and Vaggie are in control as they clearly ha e more experience in fights.
I'm not basing my claim on anything that isn't expressly shown or said in the show. And it isn't even ambiguous. It's pretty clearly spelled out that this is the first time Charlie has led a fight. Yeah, she got into a bit of a brawl with Katie Killjoy, once, but she immediately felt bad about taking her pen and calling her a bitch and was absolutely NOT using her power then. Even when righteously indignant she holds back. You'll see her start to change during Hell is for Ever and You Didn't Know, times when she had every right to be completely angry but she reigns it in both times.

If I'm remembering correctly the spawn of an angel and a demon is a Nephilim a powerful combination especially considering her Mother would be considered one of if not the oldest Sinner demon and her father an Archangel.

To be fair to Charlie, I doubt she has any combat experience, whereas Adam is the Legatus Maximus of the Executioners. Just the fact that she was able to injure him shows she's got some major power. I really loved this scene! to the fire surrounding to the audible snarl/hiss she gives as she transforms! I was watching this with friends and we literally screamed when this happened. And I said "That's so hot.." And everyone just looked at me with the most hilarious expression.
Also the scene between Vaggie and Charlie when they kissed, I literally scream in joy.
This show reminds me of the game Hades if you think about it Charlie and Zagrius are very similar both of them were rejected from Underworld, and have major daddy issues does anyone else see this or am I the only one.

one of the reasons why the hotel got off to a bad start was because Charlie was being a little too nice. She was too busy seeing the good in everyone but didn't seem to notice the bad side of things.
