I imagine for most people, Pritchett is enough of a challenge, but to do it dragging a dead CJ, driving one handed swinging a camera, whilst spotting for Shawn, is just mad😂. And Mike, you must do some miles, following on foot, rock stacking, spotting, going back for Wile…and all of this in a desert? You’re all nuts, but I’m glad you are!
Sure makes for a very interesting video, and like Rory said stay hydrated, most importantly for all you guy's out there. God bless ya'll and be safe out there..
I have thought for a while Rory could drive these trails with his eyes closed because he’s driven them so much. He proved that in this video by driving and turning the wheel appropriately around huge boulders while looking AND aiming the camera completely in back of him to guide Shawn! Rory is the ace driver of off-road rescue! 👌👍👏
@@trailmaterHow I know you guys truly love what you do is on your “days off” you go out into those same areas and “play”. Amazing. Maybe after I retire from job I’ll take a tour ride with one of the companies that you don’t show getting hauled out! 😊
l don't know why but l find watching these rescues to be incredibly cathartic. lt must the calm way Rory and the boys just keep steadily plugging away . No yelling. No rip tear and bust . Just cool professional work with a refreshing sense of humour . And l am learning all kinds of things about unusual and difficult rigging and towing along the way . Very enjoyable viewing .
I have done a lot of stuff in my life. I mean a lot. But man you guys impress me with what you do. The 4 wheeling thing is one I never got into. I use to think, “ why would anyone want to do something at less than a mile an hour”. You see I have been into racing cars my whole life. Drag cars, sprint cars and stock cars. Later in life I bought a brand new JK two door Rubicon. I owned it a year before I took it out to try and learn to wheel. I went once. It scared the shit out of me and I sold it 4 months later. I guess going fast was more my thing rather than slow and afraid of flipping down a mountain. My hat is off to all of you that are into this sort of thing.
You guys have guts, doing these trails at all can be nerve racking but pulling out a broken vehicle to boot ups the level to 11. Another good video, thanks for sharing.
Y'all make these recoveries look so easy. The rest of us mortals would be scratching our heads and would still not get it done. As always, excellent job.
I was part of that group, and this was my first trip to Pritchett (the rest had done it before). That trail is a kick in the sack. You guys made it look easy, then towed the broke jeep out like it was nothing - at least after editing. Strong work. Great job. Thanks for helping Cory out. It broke his heart that his baby didn't finish the trip. And I love your channel. My jeep was on it for about 2 seconds while you were out recovering another jeep while we were driving up to the top of the world last year. Hopefully we'll not make any further appearances.
Rory is driving with one handed, filming with another, climbing a ledge, and pulling a disabled jeep up another ledge. And regular drivers are white knuckling it getting their one jeep along the trail. You go Rory! Fun to watch, and educational too.
I normally don't comment on your videos but I just had to say the appreciate the amount of work it takes to get a vehicle out was just thinking all the running back and forth at Mike had to do to get the good shots then go back to the vehicle he was driving out but just all the work that you guys do is amazing
I needed this video. Your other friends in Utah haven't been doing much off road, other than boring sand. Once again you have shown me a new way to rescue a damaged 4x4. Thanks mucho.
I love watching your videos! The camaraderie between you is so fun to watch. Your knowledge and skill is beyond words. But the thing that gets me the most is the amazing place you get to work and play in, it is so beautiful. Please don’t ever stop making videos ❤❤
Great work bringing out the busted Jeep. I see skill and experience at work as this is no easy task especially on this difficult trail. Got to add nice work with the camera:) I'm sure it took a lot of scrambling along this rugged trail.
Drag towing looks like an excellent method to shred some tire and bend a rim or two. Probably a wise decision to call in a precision recovery team like TrailMater. 👍
Right? I was coming here to comment on that! Don't see many aluminum double rig trailers that can handle the payload of 2 4x4s. Heck, most of the regular old steel single-car trailers I see are only on 3500 lb axles and overloaded with today's heavy-a$$ rigs.
Great job guys!! Once again you have set the bar for those who may follow! You never cease to amaze me. That country is extremely rough, steep and dangerous. You seem to navigate like it was your back yard.. oh, wait! It IS your back yard!! LOL!! Great guys, great videos and always great entertainment!!
If Shawn ever needs an actual radio handle, I vote for Smoke Show! Excellent video on one of the better trails, and as others have said stay hydrated!💧
Really enjoyed this recovery. Technical. Good friends and some humour thrown in. Solid work guys. You deserve a way bigger following and i have no doubt that it’ll come sure as the hot sun rising in Moab.
Whenever you're out on the off-road trails, None of the corners are ever wide enough for more than one vehicle, so towing a vehicle through those corners must be most annoying and stressful. Congratulations on a good recovery.
Awesome video. The buggy sounds great. That Jeep you recovered sounded all quiet and boring. If Im gonna wheel, I want to hear my truck rumble and roar. Hydration! Great message! Life saving. Plus salt, to add another thing some dont think about. Salt is essential out there in the heat, too. Without it, water cant do all it needs to. That's why Doritos or similar snacks are good on the trails. Trail Mater crew always has Doritoes and such out there. Gatorade works, too, but not as tasty. Its got the salt and other electrolytes in it already. Without salt, drinking tons of water can get deadly sometimes. Some lady on Lake Powell discovered that too late earlier this year. Didn't survive the water excess her body couldn't get rid of without salt after sweating so much. She drank a ton of water but didn't have enough salt.
Good on you Rory for doing this job the next morning when it was a wee bit cooler. 0:13 very glad to see you learned a thing or two about the heat. Last summer was drive with the rigs from the shop to the rescue. This year take an A/C vehicle towing a trailer with 2 recovery rigs on it to the trail head. 15:58 Rory says, "You guys come here a lot"? Mike says, "only at least twice a week"! 19:13 That Orange children's Pedialyte is better than the Energy drinks for hydration. Taste good too! If they are ice cold I can slam them fast. But my electrolyte/hydration product comes in capsule form and has 2 natural energy boosters. Made right there in Utah. I always carry a filtered water 3 liter thermos in our truck, 365. I use a Pur kitchen faucet water filter. Makes your food taste better too. 19:28 CB Handles: Buggy number 1, 4 lug, Deathstar and good trail communications. If you have a Moab Golf course, go into the clothing department and get the cooling gear. It actually works when you're in the direct sunlight heat. Thanks for taking us along. All three of you did a great job and Justin you're great too!
I've turned down 2 separate production companies from trying to film a TV show for us. I mean let's be honest, do you want a 30 minute TV show with 15 minutes of commercials? Or a 20-30 minute video on here with a handful of wait 5 seconds to skip ads? Plus I told them we don't stage stuff, and we don't have a 'take 2'. If you miss it, you didn't get it. We are lucky to pull off some of the things we do once, let alone back up and do it again. I just feel there is nothing real about 'reality tv'. So hopefully you guys will continue to follow us along here, even if we slip in the occasional sponsor ad here and there, and have fun watching us do what we would be doing even if we weren't filming. Thank you.
