What a fantastically fun trailer! This season wasn’t always the best but this trailer really captured how exciting it could be! Can’t wait to get my hands on this set
4/6 stories being good is far from a bad score in my opinion (Only "Mark of The Rani" and "Timelash" being bad in my opinion)
@@rockotarsoldaccount Well that's the thing about opinions. I think Mark of the Rani is a fine story, nothing brilliant but worth watching, while Attack of the Cybermen is incoherent, sloppily-written garbage. You're right about Timelash though.
6 is an amazing Doctor. People forget that him being arrogant and socially incapable was intentional. Also shout-out to Colin himself for being a great actor and incredibly dedicated to fans.
Reminds me of the twelth doctor during his initial days 😂 I mean his behaviour was also socially unacceptable and he was arrogant too but Clara humanised him 😂
Remember in one episode of season 9 Clara had written placards for him 🤣
Yup he was meant to follow a similar arc to Capaldi, becoming softer in his 3rd season, but the BBC fired him before that could happen
🇬🇧🙋🏾♀️I agree. The doctor has many facets and this was one of them. I think when he first appeared and answered Peri with "You were expecting somebody else"! Is one of my favourite lines from him 😂
This season has three of my favourite stories from the 80s.
Vengeance on Varos, Attack of the Cybermen and Revalation of the Daleks. It was a very dark season for Doctor Who.
I love how this is a amazing showcase of how awesome the sixth doctor is
Love Doctor Who this was a real trip back through time
Embracing the 80s-ness of the season and adding that rad electric guitar to the trailer were excellent choices imo.
I love Season 22 AND TIMELASH and I’m not ashamed to admit it
I can’t wait to get the Boxset myself
Yeah, Timelash is way way better than its reputation. Worth it for Herbert (not going to give it away here) alone. Not to mention Paul Darrow!
Timelash will probably be seen more positively that's why it was a great choice to give new CGI.
Timelash was the first classic story I ever watched so that's why I rate it higher than most people, same with Colin Bakers Doctor
What I love about this trailer is that James Barnett perfectly captures that same sort of feeling of watching fan-made trailers of the Sixth Doctor like what Leon Hughes and MysteronAgent made back in the early days of UA-cam, especially the Leon Hughes fan tribute to Colin Baker's era. Well done, James! Get him to do Season 20 when you can!

*"Nobody Loves Collin Baker More Than Me! Or Should I Say More Than Him?"*
People who describe Colin Baker 's incarnation as "the Unlikeable Doctor" clearly never watched him! I have loved him ever since I was 13 and 3/4 (I'm in my fifties now). The received wisdom that he was unbearably arrogant and bombastic isn't true, as this wonderful trailer bears out.
I always look forward to these release day trailers. Lovely work.
Attack of the Cybermen, Vengeance on Varos, Revelation of the Daleks - this is such a great season!
I love "Attack of the Cybermen" and "The Two Doctors". Just bought them separately; guess I could've waited for this collection!
This will make a fine addition to my collection.
-wrong franchise quote but, still true.
BLOODY Excellent. I love the editing from this and is that a hint of metal I hear...
Amazing as always... always look forward to your trailers....
Cameron
“I won’t have any qualms about using this!” 😂
Rocking out with the Sixth Doctor & Peri with a great DJ accompanying this sublime trailer!
Great season with my favourite Doctor.
Imagine Colin Baker watching the Season 22 Blu-ray trailer and going, "Even more of me!"
Looking forward to getting this set. Such a great season. Vengeance On Varos is possibly my favourite Doctor Who story, at least top 5.
Possibly my favourite Cyberman story, Brian Glover superb in it!
80s Doctor Who at its most 80s. Bright colours, shoulder pads, violence, and a star with a perm. Love it!
The box set looks great ,as I have watched most these in the 1980's in Australia Tasmania , thanks for the trailer
Can’t wait to get mine! Camping at the post box! 🤩✨
I’ve met Colin and he is a cool guy :) strong personality! remember an interviewer asking him about his weight????? How rude!!! my eyes rolled!! Colin was funny! He turned himself into the interviewer and started asking them silly questions :) what did you eat last night? what time do you wake up? I remember watching his seasons as a kid! It was such a change from Davison but I just remember it was like a rollercoaster ride! He was loud and proud! but brilliant and took command, he kept improving though! By the end of his second season! I believe he was ready to perfect his doctor! and then he got dropped by the BBC :(
I love this, I have just as much clue as to what’s going on as I did watching season 22 for the first time :D
Terrific season!
We deserved a decade of Colin Baker as The Doctor.
@@pootle5095 He does have that. Without a shadow of the doubt, the definitive Doctor of the audio format.
Season 22 is the most underrated season of Doctor who ever
I love season 22!
Ahh Colin Baker saving the Universe from Nazi pepper pots, emotionless machines and angry potato soldiers. With his fancy gadgets, beautiful companion and of course his Marvellous Coat of Many Colours~
The Year of Colin Baker is not even over and it's already so amazing
Yeah. Can't wait 😁. I'm glad we're getting near the release.
Edit: I just realised it came out today. I forgot about it releasing today lol.
Absolutely love it
He will always be my favorite doctor.
Ordered mine!!!! just the waiting game now!
Love Six, have this on order, can't wait to watch it
Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant did make a rather fun team, and underrated in its time. It's obvious, though, that things were far from good at the Beeb. It caused there to be only two seasons for Colin, and that's a shame. Nicola still looks marvelous, and this is stuff I haven't seen yet. Bring it on; over here, it will be bannered as "Colin Baker: Season One".
Colin Baker, You will always be my Doctor Who!❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🤍🤍
2022 the year of Colin Baker
I think that's the first time I've ever seen the Master truly afraid..Peri with the TCE
They smashed it with that trailer …if only that had run in 85 Colin might have got his third season!
Peri, Peri, Peri... sigh. What a companion!
I wish they’d release some of the William Hartnell or Patrick Troughton seasons on bluray.
William Hartnell still has a bunch of episodes which haven't been officially animated. Patrick has a few.
1:09 Suprised they got away with including that shot in the trailer!
This looks really fun. Maybe I should finally check out the old series.
Watch at least a few episodes from each Doctor. They’re all great in their own different ways. And watch the TV movie. It’s the border between Classic Who and Modern Who and Paul McGann is an amazing Doctor.
Revelation of the Daleks is one my favourite classic era Dalek stories - there's a lot to enjoy in season 22. If you've not delved into Colin's Big Finish work you are really missing out - he might not be top of the list for live action DW, but he runs rings around the other Doctors on audio.
The Doctor has returned with another Blu-Ray Box Set, time to make space on the shelf to proudly display this addition to the collection. Here’s to whatever one is next….
Another brilliant trailer!
The one Man who truly rocks all the colors on his outfit 😎🫡
loved this trailer
6 is one of the best Doctors
0:57 - The best scene in Doctor Who history. Such an amazing piece of writing.
They should bring back The Rani, what a villain she/he would make for the new Doctor!!
I heard somewhere that they dont own the rights, thats also why she isn't in big finish
A trailer representing what 80s Who is all about. I love it!
So underrated
Excellent.
Colin deserved a much better run than he got. Damn Grade to hell and back.
But Thank Goodness for Big Finish. The Sixth Doctor blossomed and proved what a great actor Colin is. His BF's prove time and again that they are the best of the entire range.
Colin is hillarious and extremely underated
God, I love this season!
No matter what else happens, Colin Baker IS The Doctor. Whether you like it or not. Give his persona a chance. He'll grow on you, I promise. *boop*
My box set arrived last week and revisiting Attack of the Cybermen for the first time in god knows how many years was quite the experience. Certainly not the strongest opener, but a lot of great plot ideas; just a shame about the execution. Vengeance on Varos is a story I’ve never watched before; but genuinely now stands high in my opinion! What a marvellous, disturbing story. Did the writers have a TARDIS of their own to glimpse our present-day and write a story about it for 1985?? Next up on the running order is Mark of the Rani. Looking forward to it! I would just say this season is great, underrated and it’s so thrilling to see how much positivity there is out there for Colin and Nicola’s run; evidenced best perhaps in this very comment section! Great extras too; check out the Michael Grade interview!
Nice review.
Just curious, how did you find Mark of the Rani and the rest?
Ah yes. My all-time favorite Doctor. Can’t wait for this to arrive in the mail. Now we just need Davison’s last season so we can have all of Colin’s stories.
The best tardis pair ever. Colin baker was good too.
So much 80's energy
Colin Baker is a incredibly warm man and he was a fantastic doctor let down by the bbc
Man, the 80’s to 90’s were wild.
I love his docta
I'm really glad Collin got to continue the character after his run on the show. I honestly feel like he redeemed his version of the character
At 0:02, the clip in the left bottom corner is from the Sixth Doctor's appearance in Roland Rat: The Series.
Good god, I think my 9-year-old fan heart is about to burst!!
Great trailer video edit well done
This reminds me I am probably due for my yearly listen of Big Finish's Davros story.
After a very long delay the box set arrived and having now gorge through the contents I am very happy indeed. My biggest praise though is for Janet Fielding in the Behind the Sofa segments. She is highly amusing and entertaining to listen to. I never knew what a witty and clever comedian she could be (without even trying). Peter seems to enjoys playing the superior intellect poking fun at wobbly sets etc...just like a uni student from my past, but it is all good fun. In fact this feature on all the episodes is incredibly engaging. One minute Colin Baker is defending the violence and we cut to Wendy Padbury criticising the violence with conviction.
A great joy to see these episodes again and for the most part I feel they have held up very well.
The interview with Colin when he discusses the loss of his very young son is heartbreaking yet it is an important message for all of us who day by day forget about perspective and it iso poignant.
Worth every dollar spent. A great set for sure. All 80 Who kids should buy this one for sure.
And I add my voice form praise of Colin Baker. I'm afraid I will never like the costume but his characterisation was very inventive, engaging and overall delightfully unpredictable.
An 80s metal trailer... I love this marketing department
Just finished watching this season, i loved it, this and 21 are probably the darkest doctor who ever went
1:16 did that' cyber man literally just had his head punched off
Im ready to pay all of my life savings to see the 11th doctor Matt Smith again i never saw someone give a character so much as him he is the best actor imo
I love watching Peri run in Attack of the Cybermen
thats crazy
Great trailer for season 22, I'm really hoping for a Peter Davison boxset next, we've only had season 19 so far, I believe one is overdue! What do you fans think?
Season 21 I need Resurrection Of The Daleks to have new CGI want to see the rest of that season on Blu Ray.
I wish they had released Twin Dilemma on this boxest, I mean I know it was technically part of Season 21, but it'd be nice to completely have the sixth doctor's era all on his own set, surely adding one more serial wouldn't have cost more. Now I'm curious how they'll market it, Will Davison and Baker share the cover? Will they team up to do the subscribe message at the end
@Spectahman 2.0 Yeah it'll be interesting to see how they market season 21 with two doctors having been in it, I'm pretty sure we'll get season 20 released first though as they've been filming the extras for it, it could even be next!
Gotta love sixy ❤️
0:18 What is he saying? Because I'm pretty sure he isn't saying what I think he's saying 😂
Maybe Colin is underrated 🤔 might give him a go, nevermind what my grandad said about his era
it holds up way better now then it did then, attack of the Cybermen is one of my all time favourites
weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! *time* for some fun
This is about as mixed as Classic Who got- what was undisputably the two best serials of Colin Baker's tenure (Vengeance on Varos and Revelation of the Daleks) as well as two of the worst (Attack of the Cybermen and Timelash), as well as some that were just pretty decent or had their moments (Mark of the Rani and The Two Doctors). Vengeance on Varos in particular is arguably one of the most topical stories of Classic Who that is still highly relevant to this very day.
I want this
Of all the Doctors that have provided an outro for the channel, Colin Baker gave the best one! :D
Good for the BBC having Season 22 on Blu Ray can't wait to order it soon. What season of your choice in the Classic whoniverse do you wanna see on blu ray?
Season 22 is right at the heart of my fandom period (I was 12 and a member of the DWAS) so it's difficult to ever be objective about it. That only kicked in as the season ended and you realised that, actually, things behind the scenes were not well...
R.I.P childhood
Brilliant doctor and one of my favourite s😘😍
My favorite Doctor. He got so screwed by the network.
I put Season 22 above any season from 17-21, and 23-26.
I think people just assume it is really bad because it was the running series when the hiatus was announced.
People therefore assume that the public and the audience must have watched it, and then it was put on hiatus because it was so bad.
The hiatus actually happened because Michael Grade already had a hatred of it. Grade even admitted he hated science fiction.
Hello [Doc] got a new mo-tah!
It's a shame not everyone appreciated Colin by that time, I'm a modern Doctor Who fan and I genuinely think he's a good actor
He had the same problem Jodie Whittaker did. Great actor, showrunner put no effort in his era.
@@ChrisC11291980 I wouldn't pin it all on jnt. The higher ups at the BBC didn't exactly like him either and tried to cancel the show
@@bongoman9578 Specifically Michael Grade.
@@bongoman9578 it was also Eric Saward, who didn’t like the man in the role at all.
@@bongoman9578 There are some decisions that JNT made that I never cared for, but I put most of the blame on Michael Grade (and a good helping on Eric Saward). JNT did what he could with the resources he was given.
