I was only 10 months old when Dale Sr. passed. I would have loved to see him racing if he hadn't died. I was watching NASCAR Victory Lane (for the 2001 Daytona) and they said Dale felt like he could drive for another 10 years, due to his neck surgery. Apparently that was never meant to be. RIP to all the drivers who have died in a race car (Neil Bonnett, Dan Wheldon, Dale Earnhardt, Ayrton Senna, JD McDuffie, Tony Roper, John Nemechek, Blaise Alexander, and finally, Jason Leffler). I was also watching the race that Dan Wheldon was killed in. My reaction was 'No. Not another one!' I also felt like that when I was watching this year's Coke Zero 400 (I was worried about both Dillon and the crowd). All these drivers may rest in peace, and may they never be forgotten.
Beautiful work! I really like the modern-day representations of the schemes, too. The camera from the game replays is a bit shaky at times, but there's not too much of that.
This song, and tribute makes me want to cry just remembering those drivers... Rest in peace to those drivers in racing history involved, gone but never forgotten. Even Russell Phillips (A NASCAR Sportsman Division driver who passed away instantly in a horrible wreck), rest easy friends... God is with you.
I can't begin to imagine what it was like to be there when that happened... that sounds like something you wouldn't ever forget as long as you live. Glad you liked the video :)
This was a spectacular tribute. You really did their memories justice. I'm sure they would thank you. I actually cried when you did the silent lap for Wheldon @ Vegas. The ending was absolutely magic. Thank you from a NASCAR fan for over 35 years. Patrick
Absolutely amazing dude, last minute was amazing and i even got chills, great job, R.I.P. to all the drivers who have lost their lives doing what they loved.
I still watch this video a lot to salute the drivers who died for doing what they loved most of the drivers from this video are my heroes GREAT video man 1,000,000/10
That last shot....was just....awesome. Great job on the video Ian. We'll miss all these guys, like you said, they passed on doing what they loved...what we love...racing. RIP
My grandfather raced with Richie Evans a few times, and good old Richie won all of those. My dad got to watch that man in the car, must have been amazing...
I LOVE the end where you show them winning races in the present. I often think of what these guys could have accomplished had they lived (especially Adam).
damn now this video is even sadder in 2024 now with Eric McClure and now 1:18 with Carl Yarborough's death rip those though driver who passed away and are racing in heaven
I wish I could've been alive to see Adam Petty, Tim Richmond, Dale Earnhardt, Kenny Irwin Jr, John Andretti and Davey Allison share the same track if they were all alive at the same time Rest in peace boys.
I have to say i like this I race sprintcars and i been racing 3 years now i nearly lost my life when i fliped into a push truck i was in hostpital for two months docs said i shouldnt race again so i i said screw them racing to me is a passion i love so i got back in the following year and i won the championship to all fellow racers dont give up racing is forever
