I agree. He has built a home for his family with his own two hands and the pride Meg and the boys have on their faces when they look at him is inspiring.
I too have my own 'Ben' at home.. Been together 32 years and l am thankful and blessed to call him mine! Like Ben, he puts the 'hard' in hard work and works a job 6 days a week and then comes home to renovate our house.. It's been an ongoing job for the last 27 years on this old two story home, being done as we found the time and money to do it while raising/homeschooling 5 kids. We are currently finishing up putting in new hardwood flooring upstairs, and are about halfway done. A lot of work, but we bought an old home in need of updating that was in our budget so l could stay home and homeschool our 5 kids.. No regrets, and wouldn't change a thing! 😊
C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S!.........you are now in your beautiful home!......May your labor be mild and the baby and you be delivered safely!...May God richly bless y’all and stay safe and healthy!
And those boys of yours, scrubbing the floors on their hands and knees! You've taught them well, teamwork makes the dream work. Be proud of yourselves, you've done an awesome job👏❤🙌❤
That made me smile, such motivation in these happy young men! Ben is raising up young men, not just the boys of today. He is teaching through example. Doing whatever is needful, whatever it takes!! I always enjoying seeing all the effort of family (& friends too!) in the speedy version, time lapse, videos!!
I'm really impressed with the level of initiative of their kids... rare today. I would have been the same way at their ages, wanting to assemble myself! Gives me some hope for the future :) Love that flooring, used in a basement of a previous home and it is so easy to work with and looks good too. Looking forward to seeing how they finish things off now!
Who would have ever thought this day would ever come 6 months ago? What an accomplishment! This didn't happen without a lot of long hours and hard by Ben and his helpers. I'm sure none of the helpers will ever understand what a difference you made. Amazing how when people work together, how much can be accomplished in short order. What Ben said about settong your mind to do something; is key. Things rarely happen without a lot of hard work.
Ben you have done a tremendous job, a lot of blood, sweat, tears, TLC. All for the love of your family - so glad to see that your project is almost complete. Blessings!
Meg you are amazing. During this whole process you have always been positive and encouraging to Ben. Doing this while being pregnant is amazing! Now go have an easy delivery! Lol. Ben you have been an amazing husband and father! I’m sure there were times when you had a hard time and had to push yourself, but you persevered and won the race! Congratulations! The boys have been pretty awesome too, a testament to your parenting skills!
Will you two do me an huge personal favor? Will you give those boys a massive group hug from me? I loved watching them swab their deck. I especially loved watching them carefully cut the cartons open while Dad is saying, "I was perfectly willing to put the beds together..." It brought back a wonderful memory for me. For Christmas one year, a few decades ago; I gave my struggling son a brand new desk so he had his own, in his room. My daughter, two and a half years older but still in junior high, swiped the tools right out of my hand. *She* put her brother's desk together for him, faultlessly. Mom & Dad just sat there with a second cup of coffee, smiling in amazement. 😉👍
I remember way back months ago when you found and bought your kitchen sink. And one of your sons said something like "they say we have everything but the kitchen sink. But here the ONLY thing we have IS a kitchen sink!" I thought it was funny. And now, near the very end of your project, you're going to finally install that kitchen sink. Love it. Good times. May God bless your family.
I too, remember that... it made me laugh! I thought... I too now have the perfect kitchen sink ... but no finished kitchen after hurricane Harvey!! They will likely beat me to the finish line... as they have much more energy and motivation for their project. I am happiest outside in the garden.
When I was five years old, my dad and two of my uncles built our house. I'm 53 now and can still remember details like the cold water splashing up as our well was being dug. Your sons are going to have such wonderful memories of this time!
Meg and Ben, I want to thank you both for inspiring my family and I to make goals for ourselves and start attempting to accomplish them. We live in a 2800 sq ft home in the city with a tiny yard we use for garden and some chickens... in 3 weeks we are moving down south (currently in New England) and buying 6 acres and a mobile home! I'm pretty nervous but excited as we would like to provide sustainable self sufficient living for our family, health and environment. Thanks again for being so positive even during hard times. You give us hope and strength to JUSTDOIT
Congratulations! That’s amazing...I’m in New England also, and looking to do the same thing you are! I have a lot of family in NC, and it’s time for us to do the same. My cousin has been helping me look for properties down by her in the Raleigh area. Wish you the best on your new endeavor!
I would be sooooo proud to call Ben my son in love. I’m sure your parents feel the same way, Meg. I think he’s the absolute BEST! My word! To be able to say THIS! This is my son, son in-law, husband, father, friend?!?! Blessings on your family. You all are loved, even if we never meet, you are loved.
You guys have come so far in such a small time. Happy Wife, Happy Life. Now give that husband of yours a Sweet Little Princess. To melt his heart and boost his ever so Great Blessed Pride. Love you all. Welcome Home!!!!!
What a relief to finally be able to sleep in the house. Can't wait til the finishing touches are done, the baby is here and life returns to just baby & kid stuff and regular farm work...until the next big project.
Everything looks great!!! Ben, thank you for the uplifting words! When ever things get overwhelming always remember how do you eat an elephant, one little bite at a time.
Baby, I listened to your message at the end. I have had to do that very thing to keep myself alive for the past 43 years after I broke my neck. If I don't push myself every day it would be a disaster for me! God bless you all!
Oh my goodness, I can't believe how happy and emotional I am getting about the house being almost finished. Having been hands-on re-modelers of several houses, I know what hard work it is. It is so wonderful to see everything coming together for all of you. My husband walked in while I was watching today and I told him I couldn't wait for the baby to come. Told him I really hope it is a girl since you have 4 boys. He whistled and said, "One more and he'll have a basketball team." I had to laugh at that one. Ben, you are doing an amazing job! It will be finished soon and you can relax a bit. Great job!
So happy to see you were able to sleep in the house. The boys are amazing. They will make good husband's someday. They have a good example. Waiting for the big reveal on the kitchen. Good luck on the new addition when he or she decides to make an entrance. Hoping for pink. Blessings abound.
I am SO happy for you & your family !! It looks great ; You are great builder Ben ! I think everybody, including me, are so excited to see the finished deal ! God bless you & your family Be Careful Be Safe Be Healthy 🙏 👍 🙂 🐖 🐷 🐽 🐣 🐤 🐔 🐓 🦃 🌽 🥕 🥒 🍅 🍓 🥝 🍉 🦅 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
You folks made this 70 year old lady cry. I am so happy for all of you. I have in my life done many of the things you are doing. I knew you could make it if you had the heart and soul, and if you could dream big enough. WELCOME HOME HOLLARS.
You're am amazing husband, father and friend. You have provided a home with sweat and hard work for your family. You should be PROUD of yourself young man.
You are beyond blessed to have him as a husband. I was married 18 years and the last 10 years of nothing but drugs and abuse. Me and my children ended getting out of it and I have raised them on my own the last 10 years alone. God blessed me with a good job and with no financial help from him they are both grown and married. Watching you all work together makes me so happy. Prayers for a healthy and safe delivery!!
Awwww I was waiting for this video. So happy for all of you! I talk to another widow lady every day (several times) and she is 84. Since we are both home bound we don't have a lot to talk about and sure don't want to talk about the news. So I often share stuff about my youtube families and she gets a kick out of it. The other day she said well what's new in the world? I said Meg has HOT water! She whoohooed! Wait till I tell her you're moved in (mostly). She is dying to know what the baby is. LOL....you never know how much entertainment you might be!
Awesome... great job and good for the boys washing their floor and putting their beds together! They will treat them better when it was their efforts that put the beds together! You guys need a well deserved rest! There’s a light at the end of the tunnel! Congratulation! Give yourself a pat on the back! Nancy from Canada
I’m sure I’m not the only one who would love a video on the trailer before you ‘move out’ of it! How you’ve changed it from traveling to being settled, storage, daily functionality, etc. My family of four is currently in one bedroom at my in-laws to save to buy land, and we might end up in a trailer! I binge watched the beginning of your journey as we downsized from a three bedroom house, and have been keeping up with all your new videos! Congratulations on all your blessings and a job well done!!
So many wonderful homesteading families out there!! With men, women and children willing to sacrifice for their goals and dreams. The 7-member Gridlessness family lived in a TENT in Western British Columbia for ages to afford tbeir land too. Don't think conventional kids, moms and dads have a clue about sacrifice...they whinge about their cell phone data, their big screen TVs yet miss a life actually lived!! Congrats to the Holler family! Blessings!
Crying big tears here for all you have come thru and how MUCH you have accomplished. Now that baby will have a beautiful house to come home too and be loved beyond measure by all of you.
Ben! I am SO stinking proud of you! You have really done some hard stuff! It’s amazing to come to UA-cam and look at all your accomplishments! You need to take a day to rest and recharge soon! Congratulations on moving in! God bless you guys!
Win or learn, right?😊 Once you finish the house, you'll probably feel like farming is a breeze! You've worked like crazy and got it done. FABULOUS job well done!
All I can think of when I watch Ben working is, those boys watching. What an incredible life lesson. I hope they will one day say, "My Dad built this with his own hands!" and be so proud!
Space and it all looks so clean and new and fresh. God Bless you all and I am praying for baby , easy delivery, fast recovery and some family time and get to know your baby. Can not wait to see kitchen and things done. Furniture. Nor the biggest of all the little one. Meg do not over do it. Keep that energy for the big job ahead. Peace!
Yes Meg, and no more heavy lifting or moving any bulky odd things like cabinetry. Rest and nest... or just "think/ contemplate" about nesting. I never had the time to nest w my girls.... you have to be still, I believe. But stillness is difficult for hummingbird types like you!! Praying you go to the hospital early as possible when contractions begin... thinking this delivery is going to be super fast. Something about the way you are carrying... baby is on the move...?
Would you look at that... really look at it. Ben, you built a HOUSE for your family. Your brand new child is coming home to a home and a farm that y’all built and are building. HOW AWE INSPIRING IS THAT?! I hope you guys are proud of yourselves because you don’t even know me and I’m SO PROUD! I have tons of anticipation for seeing it finished, then furnished, and seeing that baby, but right now, I want you guys to rest. A newborn is demanding, catch a nap while you can ❤️
I am so inspired by what you have accomplished Ben. Firstly, by having the courage to find a safe place to raise your family. Second, by your awesome skill, hard work and tenaciousness in getting your home built. I could feel your simultaneous relief and triumph right through the screen. Great job!!!
I could not be happier and more proud of all of you! Your hard work and determination have paid off. I can see why the boys were so excited to sleep in the house. How proud they must be to watch their parents rebuild that home from the ground up, with their own two hands! These are the precious memories these kiddos will carry with them their whole lives. They look at you both with such love and adoration! Your aren’t just building a homestead, you’re building a legacy my friends. It’s been such an honor to be able to follow your journey over the past couple of years. You have inspired me more than you know! Much love to you all 🤗🥰
but, you have learned from your mistakes too and you have done a good job on this home and you know where ever plugs and water lines are and if things down the road needs fixed you know how and where things are. This old lady is very proud of both of you for not giving up and saying the heck with it. Loves and hugs. May God bless you and your family
Ben you’re the BEST Provider I always enjoy your videos with you & your sons I have 3 adult sons but their dad wasn’t in the picture much & that is evident today My youngest doesn’t have any working knowledge of what a decent man is This hit me hard & him too So as a Senior Citizen I wanted you to know Ben how extremely valuable you are to your 4 sons Keep strong 💪
Greetings from Ohio. You’ll never forget that first night. In 1978 we moved in to the house my husband built for our family. It took him 11 months to build it while working a full time job. That first night stands out. We had friends you helped along the way just like your friends helped you. Good job Hollars. You did it!!
Love watching your progress! My single piece of advice for those thin vinyl floor planks is to MAKE SURE the light thru the windows is filtered!!! We have the exact same floors, 3or 4mm I think, and to our sorrow, our floors buckled and warped badly in areas with direct sunlight within the first 6 months! Save your floors and get some window treatments! Id hate for you to share my sadness!
I have them but mine are thick and do fine with sunlight, live in Florida, however they should never be put in a bathroom, water is the enemy of these vinyl floors.
Ben, people pay crazy money for all kinds of coaches....and here you are saying what we all need to hear in the most sincere and simple way... "set a goal and plug along". Honestly.... it hit home. Thank you and MAN OH MAN congrats you guys!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks wonderful. Congratulations on moving in! I'm sure you will get everything exactly how you like it before the baby arrives and after. Trust me, your new little one will not come into this world judging. :-) God bless you all. Big hugs from Tuscany.
Yeah! Those boys of yours are the very best. Sorry bout the door, but glad you have the ability to fix it. I think you all are amazing! God Bless each of you. Love and hugs.
Yay❣❣❣ I KNEW y'all would be moved in before the new bundle of joy arrives!! Sooo happy/excited for Hollar Homestead...such a beautiful family!! Fantastic job Ben and y'alls "crew" of friends and helpers!! Now Meg it's TIME for A BABY...😂💝😂 Blessings from Tennessee y'all...☝️❤☝️
So Glad that you finally got to sleep in the house! Your boys were SO HAPPY !!! And Meg looks So Happy, too!!! Poor Ben looks like he is about to fall over!! But when he gets time to sit down and rest, he will be so proud of what he has done for his family!!! CONGRATS !!!
Woohoo! So happy y’all are in your new home. I know that has got to be a wonderful feeling, even if a few details are left. Now bring on that new baby. We can’t wait to see him/her. I’m really wishing for a girl. She will be so spoiled, with 4 big brothers to protect her & teach her things. Of course, a boy would be fine. I’m just praying for an easy birth & a healthy baby. Blessings, Love & Hugs from Vicki in Ft. Worth, Texas 🇨🇱🇺🇸👍❤️👶🏼🥰🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I saw this video and haven't even started watching it yet. I couldn't wait for this to come out. You did it!! I know you have more to do, but Ben, your a hero! Good Job All!
I’ll brag on Meg and the kids on another day. Today I’ll just say this right here is how a man takes care of his family.
Amen!!
I had 3 daughter's. So our tolite seat was always DOWN. I saw the seat up and SAID. That must be the 4 sons washroom/bathroom. I saw their bunk beds and started to LAUGH

I agree sewing Barbie. Ben has had a lot on his shoulder since the accident and it has been tough. As you say, we will brag on Meg and the boys another day. Ben does deserve some limelight. He has done one hell of a job.Well done Ben. Take it a little slower now. Have a great day.
Congrats sooo proud of you Ben Hollar!! What a man!!
Don't comment as often as some, But I have to say the world needs more men like you in it.
I agree. He has built a home for his family with his own two hands and the pride Meg and the boys have on their faces when they look at him is inspiring.
Totally agree

The boys being so excited to mop off the floors and assemble the beds was just the sweetest!
I am so impressed how this turned out! It's better built now than when it was new! Such a warm and inviting home!
Agreed... this is a REAL house. Everyone looks SO happy! 😆.. and tired. 😴😌
For it is better.

Congratulations Melissa, it is not easy to take a leap of faith but good things will come from your bravery! Wishing you and your family the best!
I truly felt Ben's "Set goals" message... it is time to take some of my own dreams off the back burner and start pushing them into reality!
Better place to have your family on a farm, making a better life. Away from the riffraft and wuhan.
Ben’s encouraging words “Don’t be so hard on yourself!” That really spoke to me I so struggle with this a lot!
We do tend to be our own harshest critic. I’ve tried to learn to give myself a little grace as I age. So, Grace is my mantra now. Grace!
Tracy Jones love ❤️ this! Yes definitely Grace!
Well done guys and good luck in the days ahead. You have made a beautiful home.
Well done guys enjoy your new place. The boys are super excited 😃❤️👍
That’s one hardworking man !! Seems like there is nothing he can’t do.

Ben you are a amazing man! Meg is a lucky girl! Blessing to your beautiful family!
Maybe you all could share how your boys chose the who's who's for their beds? I cried seeing them get their room together. Melted my heart.
What a relief to finally be able to sleep in the house. Can't wait til the finishing touches are done, the baby is here and life returns to just baby & kid stuff and regular farm work...until the next big project.

The impossible you do immediately, miracles take a little longer. You have your miracle Ben - so, so well done.
You’re family must be so proud of you.
Great job Ben and Meg! You're in! You so deserve it! so happy you guys made it in before baby got here👏
How wonderful that your in the house! it is so nice and I know were waiting on the baby as well. Thank you to all that helped the Hollar's.
So happy for you! Hope you get some good sleep before the baby comes!
I have to say what a wonderful man, husband, father and provider Ben is. All the love to the Hollar's.

I binge watched the beginning of your journey as we downsized from a three bedroom house, and have been keeping up with all your new videos! Congratulations on all your blessings and a job well done!!
They have inspired a bunch of us. Best wishes to your family. Trust in the Lord and ask Him for wisdom. He knows just where you’re supposed to be.
Kristine, best of luck to you and your family in your new journey!
Blessings!
So excited to see my favorite people get moved in their brand new home, just in time for the newest addition!!!
Crying big tears here for all you have come thru and how MUCH you have accomplished. Now that baby will have a beautiful house to come home too and be loved beyond measure by all of you.
Meg, for a woman who's about to have a baby and you look amazing. Your house also looks amazing and I'm so happy for you and your family.
Ben! I am SO stinking proud of you! You have really done some hard stuff! It’s amazing to come to UA-cam and look at all your accomplishments! You need to take a day to rest and recharge soon! Congratulations on moving in! God bless you guys!
Wonderful. Congrats.
What wonderful boys you have raised. It is so refreshing to see children who want to help . They are just a joy to watch.
The kids look perfect in their new bunk beds ! Ben and Meg , you guys stood strong and held on though so much ! Awesome job you guys! 😊👍💕💕💕
There will be things to do for a long time but you have a roof over your head. Congratulations well done!🎉🎊
I’m soooo thrilled for your precious family.
Nice! It looks so bright and clean. You’re so close to the finish line of living full time in the mobile home. Stay Positive.
Watching you pulling it all together the past several weeks has been an amazing whirlwind.
A newborn is demanding, catch a nap while you can ❤️
Ben I hope you’re proud of what you have achieved for your family and your new one to come. It looks gorgeous. Well done ❤️
Much love to you all 🤗🥰
My hat is off to you, Ben. That elephant is almost completely devoured.
but, you have learned from your mistakes too and you have done a good job on this home and you know where ever plugs and water lines are and if things down the road needs fixed you know how and where things are.
Well done you. Welcome home. May there be many happy memories made there God bless
Wahoo!! My heart overflowing with joy for you guys!!
Ben. Ben Ben Ben Ben Ben! Job well done buddy! Endeavor to persevere, and you did it! Respect brother!!
great work ethic young man, great to watch yourr videos.
Congratulations guys! Such an exciting milestone 💪
Greetings from Ohio. You’ll never forget that first night. In 1978 we moved in to the house my husband built for our family. It took him 11 months to build it while working a full time job. That first night stands out. We had friends you helped along the way just like your friends helped you. Good job Hollars. You did it!!
Ben you've done an amazing job! Perfect home for your family. Stay the course. Many, many blessing for your beautiful family💞
It's amazing to see how much the boys have grown in 2 years!
Wish there was a "love" option for this video. I smiled the entire way through. I'm so happy for you all.
Yeah! Those boys of yours are the very best. Sorry bout the door, but glad you have the ability to fix it. I think you all are amazing! God Bless each of you. Love and hugs.
HAPPY for you and the Boys!!!!!
Es un gran esfuerzo y dedicacion a terminar todo, poco a poco hace la diferencia. Fantastico como esta quedando su casa.
Woo! What a fantastic milestone to make! 💕
Such a huge undertaking...almost an entire whole house build!!!
You guys have done an amazing job!!!
I’m so happy for you all. Watching the boys and you made me happy and I’m not in your shoes. Great advice on setting goals.

I'm so Glad you and your precious family escaped California ...God Bless.
