Yep but that doesent say it wont overheat and burn up inside and die after a short 6 month period i just know apples 140w is great when i charged my c300x dc it didnt even heat up while my aohi 100w was like 80c while apples was 30 Celcious
The only 300w charger I have and trust is the UGreen one. Can apparently get for about 1000 Chinese Yuan ($140 USD) if I hunt around aliexpress for it. Even though it limits at one hour, but then realistically charging at 300w, the three devices with that combo will probably at 80+% already at 1h.
If you mean the nexode mine failed 3 months in. And I’m the type of person whose electronics never fail. One of the ports doesn’t work anymore. I did get a refund.
There’s a slick-looking 300w charger rebranded as Huwder on AliExpress for $60. No display, 5 type C ports. I was hoping you’d pick it up just to watch it speedrun an overheat. But I doubt it can beat 20 minutes. That’s IMPRESSIVE.
thank you for the video. i have exactly the same adapter. i use it to charge my MacBook Pro M1 14 inch model almost a year. My battery degraded to 88%, do you think this adapter cause faster degrading? Original adapter is 67 watts, but this adapter could charge it about 80 watts.
I don't think it would, unless it does some odd longer term switching. The Macbook decides how much power to consume during charging and monitors temperatures to make sure it can charge correctly. 88% degradation for an M1 era macbook sounds about right though. They degrade just from the passage of time.
Will you be reviewing the Lenovo Legion Charger that's so far a china exclusive for now? That one seems promising from the stuff I've seen in reddit an youtube especially wince it has a slim tip to usb-c cable on the box for lenovo laptops.
What about using a targus travel adapter and just plugging your own wall charger to it while in other countries? Im trying find a dependable travel adapter with around 100w to take to multiple countries.
Good idea you have not put a link to buy this charger 😱😱☠️☠️☠️ Giant death trap! I wonder how people still get away with producing and/or selling these without going to jail. Because even the china-used plug type A (US-type A) needs one of these outrageously dangerous plug adapters. There *will* be bodies!! 😢
@AllThingsOnePlace true... 🫣🫣☠️ And would rather have been for Santa's fools rather than April's. Whoever sells this online should get a giant fine. Thanks for the great video though. 👍👍
Can you recommend on a 240w usb c to usb c cables that are 10 feet i havent found a single video or even legit brand that makes these ive been buying cables of amazon that claim this for over 2-3 years now and i still havent found one that manages to push out 240w at 10 feet
10 footers, I'm not sure I have any for my upcoming video, I've been looking for the opposite. I want the best shortest possible cable, ha. Also, no cable is going to do 240w, cause no devices can (really) use 240W and the only power supply that can supply that has a captive cable.
Insane those adapters have open pins who designs this junk? Can imagine a child picking one up left over any plugging it in to a power outlet. terrible!
Why does it look so similar to Zeus 270W? Who copied who? Makes me wonder if Zeus 270W is also this bad and overheats so quickly. Probably worth a test
It isn't the same adapter, but yeah, likely to suffer similar problems with thermals and all. Hopefully they didn't include the horrendous AC adapter plates.
@@AllThingsOnePlace it looks exactly the same as Zeus 270W adapter, including the dangerous AC adapter plates. Zeus 280W in black colour is the newer one.
@@AllThingsOnePlace there are three options: 1. Someone kick-started an existing cheap Chinese charger, and pocketed the difference 2. After successful kickstart, the Chinese made a cheap, low quality knockoff. 3. The designs got stolen, and a similar quality charger is made for a cheaper price by the Chinese. Which one is it? I honestly think it is either 2. or 3. The only way to know is to test both and possibly open them to inspect the circuit.
Are you based in Canada or the US? I wanna buy some of these just for a good laugh but the shipping cost to Canada from AliExpress is an even better joke 🤣
If you put the mains adapter in backwards, then touch the exposed pins, you kind of deserve what happens next tbh. That's just Darwin sorting things out.
@@AllThingsOnePlace I take it you've not been buying many adapters off Aliexpress. This one you got here at least has some of the performance. Believe it or not, this is not the bottom...

Haha. Yeah it’s a joke.
@@AllThingsOnePlaceI clicked on this video with such high hopes :’)
I'm so happy with my Satechi 160W you suggested to me. Thank you again
Thanks for the feedback.
But, but it has CE markings…

Yeah, I doubt it actually meets the requirements, like other things I've seen, they'll print it on the side anyway.
Underrated comment
it stands for "China Export" 😢

Yeah, I wonder if they fixed the issues with them. They had a really high failure rate for a while. But yeah, overall, it checks a lot of boxes.
If you mean the nexode mine failed 3 months in. And I’m the type of person whose electronics never fail. One of the ports doesn’t work anymore. I did get a refund.
I bought 10 of them to start "controlled" fires!
Worked flawlessly... highly recommend 👍🏼

Yeah, I'm going to check out a few more of them. A lot of them I think aren't going to get to the watts.
Holy moly those international adapter bits are dangerous! Absolutely mindless design there
Yep.
What do you mean? It fits. You wanted it to be SAFE?
Great review; thank you again!
Thanks for watching!
Just looking at the packaging doesn’t give me any hope 😂
Yep.
You might be interested in a 300W charger by the model name MX-CS042. It's apparently made by the same OEM who made the Satechi 165W.
Thanks! Yeah, that does look like an interesting device, doesn't look like I can get it right now.
Thank you for a good laugh. It was a fun watch and a reminder of how dangerous these things can be.
Have to cover some bad to find the difference to good.
The perfect way to cosplay those cartoon style electric shocks that give you x ray bones 💀

Would you consider testing the new "Rocoren 400W USB C Charger, GAN Charger Block 10-Ports" on Amazon?

@ you are the best. thank you very much
what do you recommend for the Anker 737 power bank? it cam charge up to 140w. so far all the anker 100w chargers all turn really hot after 20 minutes.
It does it, in the review of it, it overheats but it will drain totally flat when it does.
Ehh whatever they’re meant to get hot
At the very least, they could have colored it black. Black bodies radiate heat away faster (unless they are in a direct sunlight)
The failure to do basic electrical safety means the thermal performance was probably a pretty long way down the list...
It also hides the yellowing if it's black coloured (unless it starts melting)

Yeah, I use a travel adapter specific to the country and the Anker 100W as one of my travel options. It works great.
20 minutes had me rolling. Gee, how useful!
Yeah, and over 90C at that point.
