Her energy is so contagious.. As a fellow 40 year old, it's great to see other 40 year olds with so much positivity and life. Plus, holy cow... a 7m30s mile for 100 miles..... Unreal. She's an absolute animal.

I have mad respect for these kinds of athletes. I do not care what they have between their legs. I am forty pounds down, with thirty more to go. I started training in the pool, hopefully for, my first half marathon next year. Great talk, Rich and Camille. Keep kicking ass, inspiring others with your accomplishments and stories... One Love!

She came to our small town years ago and ran our half marathon. All the runners in our town follow her closely and are huge fans. 🥳

i liked the interview, and i like how Rich has very good questions so that it opens doors for good information to come out. Not everyone responds in detail and deep meaningful ways but still very good questions. I learn a lot, took lots of notes. Even if everyone is unique and needs to find his own way, his own nutrition & training = hearing other people stories is inspiring.
I resonate with her about go easy on training because it is also very easy to destroy the body, get injured. And injuries can take lots of time to recover. I am happy i got out of the mentality of no pain, no gain, push as hard as possible to prove you are strong. etc.
love your interviews Rich ! thank you!

I am a massive rich roll fan for his ability to interview people exceptionally well - i've found rich always has the ability to have intriguing and interesting conversations with people, really getting them to expand and elaborate in a fantastic way. he's great at asking the right questions and then giving space for the answer.
this podcast was a tough listen for me. rich pulled out all the stops (i looooved the observation he made on successful ultra runners seeming to often be joyful and happy and grateful people). Camille just didn't know how to have a conversation of substance and it felt like such a laundry list of what she does and who she is. The conversation lacked the usual depth and thought provoking vibe it usually has. Camille is so good at what she does. I've been following her journey for some time as a hobbyist trail runner who's done a single ultra...She clearly became the best by being so honed in but i feel like the convo missed out on her elaborating on anything beyond that.
I still look forward to following Camille for her incredible talent - she is so inspiring to me. Similarly, I am excited to continue listening to rich's podcast moving forward. Even though this conversation didn't leave me as fulfilled as ones of past, i still learned a lot. I'd like to close by saying that Camilles dedication to her craft is insanely inspiring and I walked away feeling impressed and motivated by her ability to be so locked in on one thing. She is one of a kind for sure!

I love her confidence, enthusiasm, and the way she approaches all aspects of life. Beautiful, smart, athletic, and crushing the ultra scene. I'm a big Fast Times fan and her accent and mannerisms remind me of a female Jeff Spicoli.

I don’t run, I never heard of HOKA, but this positive energy coming from this person makes me want to run,and I did look up what HOKA makes. She should just be sponsored by the sport of running in general as a cheer leader. Plus I thought she was 30, so was confused when Rich kept mentioning masters. Refreshing attitude.

First off im exhausted after listening to this show. Secondly, how come you didn’t wrestle her daily diet out of her Rich from morning to night? She was clearly dodging the question numerous times. Super talented she is for sure.

I listened to this episode when it came out and the first thing I thought of was - 'wow she's quite full of herself'. Was totally turned off by that but there was an interesting part about blood test results, iron levels, nutrtion etc. In the last few years I listened to other podcast episodes with her as a guest and thought the same thing. Camille doesn't really give other great ultrarunners much credit - or she's bashing them. Quite a few folks in the running world had negative interactions with her and her husband. I'm glad about the exposure in the last few days of their psycho behaviors. It's sad to see this in the ultra community.

I am a big Camille Herron fan. Camille is very intelligent and well-read. I suspect she was reluctant to discuss diet because she is aware of the potentially triggering effects of discussing diet, when eating disorders are a major issue in women's running.

I am very curious about the “ root cause protocol “ because if there is a mineral imbalance with low magnesium it must be fixed somehow in addition to a positive mindset - so I would like to get some more details on how she did that 😃

Gotta agree with some of the other folks here. Rich; fantastic structure and questioning, but I left feeling put-off Camille. She couldn’t really share a weakness, and in her effort to share a single piece of advice for her fellow runners, managed only to discuss her more of her own accomplishments.
It’d be a long day in the office if she was around. Sorry Camille but ‘me, me, me’ can get tiring, not inspiring.

I love Camille as a runner and her smile is contagious, but I was disappointed that at least the first 30 min of the podcast showed a lack of humility. Compare that to the pod with Courtney being one of my all time fave RRP’s and I was really hoping to feel inspired in the same way.

I take Trace Mineral Drops. It's definitely not the best taste, but I've gotten used to it! I've found the epsom salt baths (2 cups in a typical hot bath) has really helped to bump up my magnesium the most.

    • @IanRamon
      @IanRamon Рік тому +2

most top performance athletes say it is unique for everyone and they build a certain diet by trials and error. i came to agree with that. every person is unique and responds differently to same foods and quantities.

This was tough podcast. I learned nearly nothing on this auto-biography (it wasn't an exchange of ideas, it was hearing the accomplishments of one person with no connection to anyone). I'm sure she's a nice person but this made no sense. I made it to just over an hour on this one and had to stop because it was just too painful, knowing I have things to do. Rich Roll - you owe me an hour of my life back by finding a better conversation.

The Comrades Marathon is the oldest, most competitive, and most lucrative ultra in the world. It has incredible history behind the event and brings together the best ultrarunners in the world- including the African ultrarunners. At one time Nelson Mandela would fly in to be at the finish for the winners. I'm the third American to win the event.
