Well done for taking the time to do the video. Couple of points I could add. If your oil is really grey in colour it means that water is getting in from the pump housing which in turn means your pump seals are leaking. Keep an eye on the colour of the oil as you may need to change it more regularly to protect the wobble plate bearings and stainless pistons/guides. Keep an eye on the small weep hole between the brass pump head and the aluminium seal housing. If any watar drips from here then your seals need replacing. To save screwing the dipstick all the way in to check the oil level, just cut a zip tie to the same length as from the underside of the screwhead to the end of the dispstick and then drop it into the fill hole till it is flush with the where the screwhead would sit.
These machines are the BEST there is and with regular care they will last a lifetime and out perform any other washer. Cheers.
If you use a Quarter it fits the cap reasonably well. A pair of pliers or vise grip should give any additional force to break it loose but mine is only hand tight. Hope this helps someone 🤘🏼

When removing the red oil filler cap you'll ideally need a 22mm socket rather than a screwdriver, thats if the cap is the same type as the one on the 1322, if not switch it over that way it'll not get damaged.
I'm pretty sure you'll need a 13mm socket for the drain plug also. I wouldn't use motor oil, I would use genuine pressure washer pump oil which is detergent free!

some screw in oil cap/dipsticks require you to check the oil level without screwing it back in
Could maybe use one of the sockets with the little fingers in it that will conform around nut sizes. Get one big enough to slip over the dip stick and the fingers may self adjust to the notches of the red cap.
The oil KranzleUSA uses, is 5w-50. Pennzoil, Castrol and Mobil1, all have this weight. The oil dipstick/fill cap, was most likely siezed. There is an Oring, on the cap. So one doesn't need to over tighten the cap.
The threads are super long and seat very tightly.

I use a mityvac for tasks like this. Great for car oil changes, brake fluid, power steering fluid changes, etc. Easy to dispose the fluids as you can then pump out into a container.
A small rubber wrap wrench may work well for the cap. There essentially a chain wrap wrench but a rubber belt to not mar the cap
I purchased that same Kranzle pressure washer and I changed the oil about a month ago in mine. My dip stick was not screwed on as tight as yours. I was able to easily remove it with a flat head screw driver and I didn't need to remove the cover. Not sure why yours is that tight or maybe mine was "lose".
MIne is 5 years old, so they may have changed the design.
Mine also is easily removed with a flathead. I bought mine late last year from Matt and co.

Why don't you bring up the dodgy dip stick/cap with your buddies at Kranzle and have them re design it so you can't mangle it up. There has to be another solution to this flaw no ?

tool: channelock 415. It's a smooth jaw. Won't marr up the plastic. Good to use on brass/stainless fittings too.
Knipex Soft jaw pliers. They are super cool made specifically for situations like that. And they are German so you know they are legit tools to add to your arsenal. I've just started to appreciate the quality of this great brand. Craftsman is so disappointing these days...manufacturing in China. So I've found SK tools are awesome very close to Snap on tools but much cheaper and made in the good old USA.

Could you use a nickel attached to locking pliers aka vicegrips to get the dipstick off.
When I get mine I plan on changing the oil once a year, 2 cars so less than 50 hrs. call me obsessed.
Does Kranzle make a socket to fit the fill cap? In the future, measure your fill oil out in a measuring cup, then put only that amount back in.

Matt, try using a strap wrench. My guys use that so we don't leave teeth marks on the chrome finished piping.
Could you use a regular bolt for the fill hole? I can't imagine the dip stick is entirely necessary. Maybe keep the plastic plug somewhere and use it as the dip stick if need be?
Hi, Mr. Matt moremen, what size of socket wrench are you using to loose the drain bolt? I am using 7/122 european version.
just did mine, the red dipstick cap was very tight I put a quarter in the slot then used an adjustable wrench on the quarter to give me the torque to undo it, no marks ...
Just buy a non-marring jaw pliers for $15 (plastic replaceable tips)

Matt , being that you installed synthetic lubricant I would assume you could go on a longer drain interval, I wonder if that unit comes pre-installed with synthetic to begin with most likely it is as it seems like a lot of things are today.
Theoretically, I should never have to change it again.

Can you fit a small piece of hose over the cap to protect it from the channel locks?
When they say you don't have to change the oil after the first (at approx. 50 hours), does that suggest the unit has a lifespan of 100 hours? I doubt it, but it was odd they left out the reason why you don't have to change it more than once.
What kind of oil did you use for that model?

Flow and craftsmanship. It's a lot like comparing a Porsche to a Kia. Both get the job done, but one does it better.
Pick one up and compare the weight to a big box store model you will understand lol
Hey Matt, love the videos man from over here in the UK, could a oil filter strap wrench work to remove the cap? no metal teeth or anything to cause any damage and could work both to un-do and re-do up!

What does the oil cap look like? Any chance a custom part could be made to slip over it and hold it for unscrewing? Or is the part soo cheap that it wouldn't make sense to bother with it?
It's probably not worth is as we really only need to change the oil once in the life of the pump.
True. If it is a one time use, it probably doesn't matter. I was thinking along the lines of 3D printing a custom cap that catches all the ridges, then has a hole perpendicular to the plug for you to insert a screw driver to get leverage. I think about everything in terms of 3D printing though. I don't have a Kranzle, but having a mangled cap would just bother the heck out of me.
I need a new front cover for mine as well. I ran out of hose and pulled it over on it's front and scratched it up. Can I get it through you since your a dealer now?

what oil you using. Honda generators have a sim dip stick and after market sells a metal one that may work

I have mine over 10 years and never done maintenance 😅. Until it started to leak oil and had to pull up UA-cam.

matt whats your input of the K1622 1600 PSI, 1.6 GPM looking for a cheaper alt to a wall mount that won't break the bank. I really don't need one to roll around.
That's a good pump to use in combination with a good reel and hose. The problem is you start to get to similar prices once complete.
Jonathan The K1622, utilizes the same pump and motor. it has a different wabble plate. this is why the higher psi and lower gpm. it doesn't have an integrated soap injection system. one is offered though. the hose is also a little shorter. it's 10 meters long.

Why do tight? I have a kranzle k10 and do up the oil cap hand tight.
Have you never checked the oil level before? I guess you dont need to even screw the dipstick all the way in. Just make it half the way in and just add the length 'not screwed' to your equation when watching on dipstick meter. The biggest mistake was to put your Kranzle to a standing position to measure your oil level. It then covered all over your dipstick with oil and result is on your video :)
You should use a soft grip adjustable swivel oil wrench
Couldn't you just take any wooden measuring stick and measure to the top of the metal lip and then transfer the measurement using the seat of the cap to get the oil level? That's how I'd do it.
Just put a rag over the plug and use the wrench, that should avoid getting those teeth marks, simple!
So you do thing doing your own oil change can impact the resale value in the future since no records are kept

I think as long as you followed the instructions in the user manual i.e. after 50 hours use, doing the oil change yourself wouldn't be a red flag to potential buyers in the future.

You are using channel locks backwards to remove. Designed to work the other way. PS. The refill amount is 8.454 us fluid ounces.

I dont care what kranzle says I suggest changing the oil at least every yr. My k2020t manual says after first 50hrs then every yr or every 1000hrs I suggest yearly.

Matt, does this pressure washer have a counter on it to tell you how many hours have elapsed? - Something to tell you when to change it?
It does not. Mine probably has 250 hours on it. Changing oil in this thing with the way we use it to wash cars probably isn't necessary.
Thanks for the reply - Also, you might have better luck not dinging up the oil cap if you try using a towel in between the teeth of your channel locks. It's a trick I learned from installing compression fittings on water cooled PCs, in order to not scratch chrome, etc.

It is too tight to remove it by hand. The threads are really long.

Put some (nice and thick) masking tape or duct tape on the jaws of your mole grips/wrench!

The manual is not good. I tells you nothing.
if theoretically you only need to change it once after 50 hours there's absolutely no point in buying a new plug / dipstick, therefore being totally pointless to stock them for people not to buy, stop being such a fetus and deal with the little teeth marks you're going to have in it. and that last little drop at the very end u had to add had me laughing my ass off (thanks). that was literally enough for it to run down the funnel in time for you to pull it out of the pressure washer and let it drip into the paper towel. P.S. there is not a better system to unscrewing a plug / dipstick that's the only way to do it. and I bet you only stick it in to check the oil level and not screw it in and out every time.
