You are a life saver, mate. Gigabyte's manual is so crap, they still show a screw for holding the m2 SSD. I'm all for screwless solutions, but dear God, why can't they put it in the manual? It even looks like something you should be turning, not pull out...
My gigabyte manual didn't even write anything about this plastic clip, was scared of breaking it but this video showed me the way to open which i never would have guessed otherwise!
So, the plastic clip won't close. I have my ssd already installed and it's a bit inclined so I tried pushing the little thing like you showed in the video, but for me it opens again a bit. What should I do? Is one of my ssd slots on my motherboard fucked?
Jesus Christ Gigabyte if you're trying to reinvent a literal screw at least put it in your documentation. Not in a million years would I have guessed that that's how you use it.
Thank you! I suspected that this was the process, but needed to be sure! Straight, to the point, no fluff, and intructive. Seriously, thank you so much!
Hey i have a problem, my plastic clip simply refuses to clip back on place once i try to reinsert it? This is the first time im installing an ssd but ive done everything right?
Lol thanks alot I rotated it and it fits then but the SSD can pop out easily then so I thought I can use tape on it so it can stay into there right. But I already was thinking there should be something else on how to do this. Pretty dumb that they dont have this shown into the mobo manual.
Thank you so much. I was troubled with what to do, but I solved it at once after watching this video. It may sound strange because it's a translator, but I'm writing because I really want to thank you.
Jesus bro, we have the same board and i was absolutely going crazy the last hour, thank you so much for this, i was really just going to break them off completely, it's super dumb!!!
thanks I was so confused on what the rubber thing was I didnt realize that the weird bit pops off I thought I had to somehow wrestle the whole rubber part off thinking it was a cover for a screw or something
I was so lost witgh this mechanism the manual said nothing about it 😂 Thank you for making this video! I first rotated it where it kind of attached like a clip but it did not feel secure so i had to check what it was.
Thank you! I've just looked up about installing ssd and mine is a gigabyte motherboard as well and I find that this type of installation is kinda weird that it's just being held by a plastic clip while it's constantly resisting being pushed out.
@@paullillico2310 i just installed my 1st ssd and it was a horrible process cause of this poor design because I will have to remove my gpu first because it's just simply impossible if you have adult large hands and there's no room for your hands to re attach the plastic pin once you have the ssd, like sheesh. Horrible design idea.

Thank you so much 😊
A video that’s under 2 minutes that simply answers a question, how refreshing. Thank you this is perfect!
Thank you for the video, I was lost. What a crappy design! They saved 1/2 a penny and will have this broken plastic part be the end of motherboards!
Thank you! Had a feeling I was supposed to pull it up but was scared it was gonna snap off
My gigabyte manual didn't even write anything about this plastic clip, was scared of breaking it but this video showed me the way to open which i never would have guessed otherwise!
not all heros wear capes.. thanks for this informative video

thanks god that i made it 11 days latter, thanks bro
Thanx, bro!) that was really simple, but i broke my mind before found your video!!)

Thank you so much, I almost broke my pc because I was pulling on it so hard and got frustrated. This saved me my pc, thank you 🙏
Thank you so much, this is my first time building a pc and i thought that i got the wrong motherboard hahaha
Could you give us a video how to install a heatsink with thermal pad on that drive with plastic clip?
have u figure it out?
@@NajmiAriffIt did instal it, only the handle now had to face the other way, but I didn’t have PCI port in front of it (unlike this one in the video)
Omg you saved me !!! After all these hours I found you
*hours?*
Thank you! I suspected that this was the process, but needed to be sure! Straight, to the point, no fluff, and intructive. Seriously, thank you so much!

JEEEZ THANK YOU. HOW THE F ISN'T THIS ON THE MANUAL?
Thank you very much :) The manuals are indeed not great haha
Crei que los plásticos eran para tapar un posible hueco para tornillos, y al hacer tanta fuerza los arranque 😢
Thanks bro this was so helpful I really appreciate it❤❤❤❤
Hey i have a problem, my plastic clip simply refuses to clip back on place once i try to reinsert it? This is the first time im installing an ssd but ive done everything right?

Is it possible to install heatsink on that drive with plastic clip?
Mine is to big the clip doesn’t fit my thicc boy waste of money
it helped, thanks, no I hope thats the reason my ssd doesnt work
Are we able to install an ssd with a heatsink? It would be nice to know as im in the process of buying an ssd with a heatsink
I did install, only the handle now had to face the other way, unlike here there was free space and not an PCI port in front, so lucky for me
Lol thanks alot I rotated it and it fits then but the SSD can pop out easily then so I thought I can use tape on it so it can stay into there right. But I already was thinking there should be something else on how to do this. Pretty dumb that they dont have this shown into the mobo manual.

I was like WTF is this M8. When I opened my board. Thanks
That bit that the clip is connected to, what does it do?
I broken that clip 😥😥, any solution?
soldering iron
Very instructive video. I was looking for this kind of video of how to find the 2nd NVMe slot of a Gigabyte motherboard. Thank you so much BarTech TV!
I got a crucial p5 plus with heatsink, no way to attach it to gigabyte b760m ds3h ax ddr4 😢
Thank you, you're a live saver
Legends say, without this video I would still be rotating that clip, hoping one day it unscrews.
Jesus bro, we have the same board and i was absolutely going crazy the last hour, thank you so much for this, i was really just going to break them off completely, it's super dumb!!!
Thanks dir The tips Amazone
This video did help 😂😂😂
You save my life. Thanks
I ended up ripping the whole thing out lol. It did NOT want to do this the easy way…
Has to be something of the newer ones, because mine also isn't coming out
Thanks. Lol I have heavy hands and never seen this style before. Didn't want to break.

I'm not loving this new way of holding an m2 seems really flimsy and probably gone be a fail point somewhere done the line
