- LSU Baseball and Kentucky Baseball played in game 2 of the Baton Rouge Super Regional in the 2023 College Baseball Season. LSU entered the game with a 1-0 lead in the best of 3 series.

The best part of my work as a UA-camr is being able to provide coverage of sports that may not receive as much attention as they should to the large audience I have built over the years. Many of the sports I cover aren't posted by any other UA-camrs, which makes this channel that much more important.
One of my favorite accomplishments is revolutionizing the way sports channels create thumbnails. I've adopted two different styles, one with logos on the left and a game snapshot on the right, and the other with the logos in the middle and game snapshots representing both teams on either side.
I have a combined 4 years of experience as a Baseball & Basketball Play by Play announcer, which is where I learned my skills for commentary/breakdowns.

Give Paul Manieri lots of credit for recruiting him. Johnson's done a great job adding to what Manieri developed, but I think Paul knew that with his neck injury, he was going to be hampered being the coach he wanted to be. I will always appreciate his contributions to the LSU baseball program.
With the talent this team has and the way our bullpen has been playing(finally) nothing less than a Naty will do. So happy for Dylan Crews, that kid is awesome...❤

That was certainly one of the most dominating performances that I’ve seen from this squad. Dare I say that this team has finally reached peak performance? All of the offense is running on all cylinders, the pitching (outside of Skenes) is actually super solid, and the defense is really nice right now! All they need to do now is hold on to this momentum and not falter to the pressure, and they got themselves another Natty! BRING IT HOME!!! GEAUX TIGERS!!! 💜💛🐅
I expect for them to win their first game in Geauxmaha, but if we get to face Wake Forest, in what I expect to be the winners bracket, I think the winner of that game wins the CWS. Florida and TCU are formidable on the other side of the brackets, but I think we can take them.

Dylan crews might be the best hitter in college history
His hitting is reflective of great coaching and his personal character and talent. Another player will come along who will draw comparisions to Crews, but there's only one DC.

@@jasonmorgan1768 ahh ok yeah I was going off the predictions shown from the announcers during the game two days ago.
Skenes is the closest pitcher to a healthy Jacob deGrom that I've seen. He is a marvel to watch, just like deGrom in his major league prime. Not sure if JdG will come all the way back from Tommy John surgery, but for now, fans of great pitching can watch Skenes. He will play in the majors no later than September when the rosters expand.

In defense of small ball, Omaha's park has not been favorable to hitting home runs. But I believe the Tigers can adapt to any hitting situation and come out ahead. They are very versatile.

@@RaceBannon-x1u Good point, let's see what happens. I would really like to see a Skene vs Wake Forest in 2nd day winner's game. But I think it will be Floyd or Hurd with Skene pitching the opening game if it's Saturday.

The strike out calls against Morgan and Travinski were bad too. Kentucky should’ve known by then he was calling both sides of the plate and low. Only strike umpire didn’t like was the high one

Cannot believe they decided to pitch to Crews after the past ball in the 9th. Second that happened i got sad because i was thinking no way they pitch to him with an open base and his last AB at the box was gonna be an IBB but nope Kentucky coach went full stupid and pitched to him. Felt like him coming up clutch there was always going to happen. Glad he was able to go out that was at the Box, time to keep it rolling.
I don’t know what Nick Mingione was thinking when they decided to pitch to Crews either. Yes Tommy has a lot of RBIs, but they still have a chance for a double play if they walked him intentionally. I was under the impression that Mingione was a good coach. But after what happened with the Dylan Crews situation, I might have to reconsider. Was he just a passenger the entire season? To me this is as bad as Grady Little keeping Pedro in the game during the 2003 ALCS. This is fireable, especially with the season on the line.

@@kevinspell99 A better question would be: Why did he take Moore out? He had the Tigers number, ride him to the finish or until he was showing signs of fatigue. Moore looked strong for another inning. We still win, but with the season on the line and Moore pitching so well, why take him out?
@@1blastman Moore was outstanding. LSU could barely do anything worth squat off of him. I thought that he might have until the 8th inning before he runs out of gas. Mingione really drank the Kool Aid on the final two innings. But nothing will happen to him. Kentucky would rather be complacent with his small ball tactics rather than the Gorilla Ball approach. The worst part for Kentucky is that a lot of their starters were either senior transfers or upper class men. They aren’t going to Omaha with good base running and minimal power hitting, especially since teams like LSU, Florida, and Tennessee making a killing off those moves.
@@kevinspell99 My guess on KY getting to Omaha, would be if they didn't have to face an SEC team in the regionals and Super Regional. They match up well against non-SEC teams, but LSU overpowered them.
This year's transfer portal will be interesting, I'm curious to see how LSU's run to the CWS will impact recruiting.
I'm noticing that college kids are staying in school longer because of NIL, that's one of the upsides of the NIL. I would like to see a stat on how many more athletes are staying around to get their degrees because of NIL.

The favorite will be the winner of the LSU\Wake Forest game in the winner's bracket. Makes me wonder if Johnson will pitch Hurd first, then Skenes against Wake. But whatever Johnson decides, I'm okay with, he's been in a coaching zone this whole tournament and I would never question his choices. Just wondering though.
