Seether will ALWAYS be one of my favorite groups of all time. 🖤 So grateful I growed up during these times. Music today is not what it used to be, sadly.
Seether was such a HUGE part of my teenage angst. I remember seeing them live in Louisville, KY alongside Theory of a Deadman, and My Darkest Day. I practically begged my mom for the money for the tickets since I was still a freshman and couldn't even get a real job. She finally relented and ordered the tickets, plus one. The plus one? Her. My mom went to see TOAD, Seether, Daughtry, and MDD with me, and she absolutely loved it. We both had a stupid good time, and that's when she fess'd up to being a late-80s rocker. Motley Crue, G&R, Molly Hatchet, Metallica, Bob Seger, Mellencamp, she was into the real ones. From that moment on, I knew to never question a mom. She'll either kick you out of her house while singing hymns or kick you in the junk while shotgunning a beer and humming a rock song. LSS, moms are cool.
So True, except My Friends would always tell Me what a Cool Mom I had. As far as My Own Kids...especially of the male variety, I know they Never said I was Cool.
@@robinwanless3496 funny story for an internet stranger: my mom was a secretary at my high school. We had a school-to-work thing, where you would leave for an hour or so each day of senior year, and go shadow someone at their job. It was very, VERY obvious that I was leaving a few extra minutes in my commute to stop by the park and smoke cigarettes and eat fast food. I was like a teenage truck driver. But, without fail, I'd come back in the building absolutely reeking of Marlboros and Wendy's, and have to pass by her to sign back in and head to my next class. She never once said a word, but would sometimes shoot me a look, or send me a text saying "put your jacket in your backpack, you'll burn up" or "you should really park a little further from the windows, someone might see you". Just amazing. This is in my opinion is Seether's best song simply for how catchy it sounds and the vocals here are not overpowered by the instruments making it very easy to hear what he is signing and with his vocals matching the rhythm of the beat. Seether will always be a legendary band and hopefully if someone stumbles upon this song they are reminded it was made during a time when Let's Plays of Halo on Xbox 360 were commonplace and the biggest concern was that there was not enough Doritos and Mountain Dew to fuel an empty stomach when planning to do another Let's Play of the game.

“Frail, the ways to you get you high Just leave them where they lie and tell yourself you’ll be the death of me.”This song is about getting people off drugs.

@ hey im doing a paper on addiction and related this song to it. could you break it down?
4 роки тому
@@emmamailman8278 I'll break down some of the lyrics. "Throw your dollar bills and leave your thrills all here with me" The drug is talking to the addict telling him to throw all your money at the addiction and the drug will give the user the cheap thrills the user seeks.. "Frail, the skin is dry and pale, the pain will never fail And so we go back to the remedy" essentially what you look like using heroin your skin is dry and pale and you're physically weak (frail) the pain is dope sickness that's why the user goes "back to the remedy" the remedy to the physical and emotional pain the user experiences is the drug.. "Clip the wings that get you high, just leave them where they lie And tell yourself, "You'll be the death of me" the drug addict is telling himself to stop using because the drug will be the death of him. "It aches in every bone, I'll die alone, but not for pleasure" Aching from dope sickness which is what keeps the user on drugs (heroin)... I'll die alone not for pleasure meaning the drug does not give pleasure to the user anymore it just makes you able to function normally so essentially the heroin user is killing himself slowly and not out of enjoyment or pleasure of the drug anymore. "Hold your eyes closed take me in" obviously it's a reference to shooting up heroin.. you're eyes roll back closed as you plunge in the heroin into your veins. The song is pretty much about a relationship with heroin. The user wants to get off the dope but it's not that easy and so the user spirals out of control using the very thing that's slowly killing him but he cant stop because it's the only thing that stops the physical and emotional pain of being dope sick. Essentially the addict is only doing the drug to function and finds no enjoyment in doing it anymore it just keeps away the sickness and the pain away and the drug will be the death of the addict.

"Throw your dollar bills and leave your thrills all here with me" The drug is talking to the addict telling him to throw all your money at the addiction and the drug will give the user the cheap thrills the user seeks.. "Frail, the skin is dry and pale, the pain will never fail
And so we go back to the remedy" essentially what you look like using heroin your skin is dry and pale and you're physically weak (frail) the pain is dope sickness that's why the user goes "back to the remedy" the remedy to the physical and emotional pain the user experiences is the drug.. "Clip the wings that get you high, just leave them where they lie
And tell yourself, "You'll be the death of me" the drug addict is telling himself to stop using because the drug will be the death of him.
I remember this song from my first heartbreak. Got me through alot, this band. Fuck yeah

I would literally pay anything to see Seether live
This guy's voice is fantastic. I've been listening to so much Nirvana and Alice in Chains that I've not been paying attention to other bands.
I actually remember hearing this song when I was little, but I forgot all about it until I accidentally listened to it again over 10 years later and I'm so glad I did

The only word to say why I love this song...Ironic.❤️
What a classic. This song defined the early 2000's grundge / hard rock music
Indeed, a great era for music in general that time period was, glad I got to experience a good part of it.
