Jefferson did not write his own version of the bible he cut an pasted the text of Jesus's words into a book from both French and English versions of the bible. The New Testament is a collection of letters from people who were thought to have been the Apostles of Jesus. Again translated by others. The word that I used in regards to Christ is attributed, meaning someone has said that he said those things.

I always thought the USAF "Area 51" in Nevada was a funny nick-name made up by my fellow junior officers at the site based on the UFO popularity in the 1980's. On the other hand, I recently found a clip from NASA showing a van carrying Mercury Astronauts to their launch site from a parking lot at Cape Canaveral. A sign prominantly indicates the (small) parking lot was Area 51. I figured some UFO made for TV movie had used the footage while claiming the van had alien bodies from Roswell, or some such.

Chemtrails - airplanes do spread dangerous chemicals in the atmosphere. But not on purpose. Plane fuel burning exhausts are not exactly healthy or environmentally friendly...

There's probably more concerning statistics out there (I'm 78% sure of that).
I suppose in this particular instance there's very few consequences in putting your confidence firmly in either camp, other than ridicule. It's not as if you'll fall off or be otherwise affected if you're wrong and suddenly find out.
I think people would be more sceptical in general if everything had the same consequences as say not believing in the effects of gravity and finding out you're wrong when you're falling off a cliff.

@@546268 Yes. Critical thinking or lack of is more apt a phrase. A bit lazy on my part. I think 'being a Sceptic' would've been more suitable than 'be more sceptical', a Sceptic hopefully using the usual range of tools including critical thinking from the off.
Whatever the particular tool though, there are still areas where the consequences of being wrong don't matter that much. The actual shape of the earth being one of these reasonably inconsequential things IMO, unless you're involved in science or education that is!
Maybe mellowing with middle age. Any talk of horoscopes used to drive me insane, but most people see it as fun I think. It's no more illogical or irrational than following a lower league football/soccer team around for years like I did!

Chemtrails are not the same thing as contrials because they follow a set pattern normally a latticework with a cross off to one side presumably to check wind speed as the cross is made first, and also because they are deliberately made in the early morning by 2 to 3 planes going back and fourth turning the traill on and off to make the pattern. the chemtrial lasts many hours spreading out into a cloud formation rather then dissipating
Cloud seeding is not a secret and the objective is rain, not killing people, also, close to airports or points where routes cross is totally normal to see criss crossing patterns of contrails. Finally, the duration of contrails in the air is very variable and depends 100% on atmospheric conditions (temperature, humidity and winds), it has nothing to do with the chemical composition of such trails.
@@mayatara1980 its a small lattice with a cross off to one side they do, the 2 to 3 planes that do them turn the trail off and on flying back and fourth to make the pattern, they do it between 5 and 7am it takes them no longer then 15 mins to do the entire thing then they go and it slowly spreads out over a few hours.
