The deck/porch debate is comical. There is such a thing as covered or uncovered decks/porches. Many high end houses have covered decks off the back. And many low end houses have uncovered porches off the front. It can go either way.
@@renovationsandmore7142 as I’ve said, if it’s covered then you could call it a porch cap but it’s just a cap. Look at the he definitions of porch and deck. It will clearly state that a porch is covered and decks are uncovered…..
Where are you guys from? You do amazing work! I’m into custom woodworking for a living and can appreciate the detail you put into the jobs I’ve seen you do. Very nice work!
You guys have some great carpenters! Only thing I have to ask is. Why didnt you concrete the posts or put a footing on the front right of the deck? The posts are barely touching the ground!
I would call that architecturally incompatible with the primary structure. Instead of building something to compliment the house the owner spent money on something that detracts from it. Remember: Just because you can doesn't mean you should!
@@renovationsandmore7142 In that case, think about how much more they would have liked it if the colors and style actually complimented the original structure? If this was in a historic area or a HOA review board had to approve it this design would have never have been allowed. I'm not saying it wasn't well done or structurally sound. It just doesn't go with the rest of the house. If I had to guess, I'd say it probably doesn't fit in with the neighborhood. If it was concealed in the back yard it probably wouldn't matter but this is a front porch!
I call that expert carpentry. Well done!
So good ❤❤
Porchdeck!! Amazing!
I'd call it either along with awesome. Well done. I love those small projects with a bunch of different little unique features.
Yes, a wrap around porch. Instant curb appeal.
Absolutely!
It's not a porch. It's above ground. It's a deck.
Noiceee brother
Beautiful
Awesome job
I would call it a porch with a deck I guess...
Porch since it’s the front of the building deck if its in the backyard balcony if it’s higher up then the first story ground level or back patio level
I call it awesome
Omg sooo beautiful! Come do mine pppplease :)
those railings will get loose real quick
They haven't! And won't!

Deck with stairs.
Petty 🎉
Why don’t you clean the work area before starting the project..?
It’s a deck. A porch is covered, a deck is not
Ummmmm.....I've seen quite a few covered decks off the back of people's houses.
...and quite a few uncovered porches off the front. I'm confused lol.
@@renovationsandmore7142 well if it’s covered then it is a porch, if not it is a deck. It doesn’t matter if it’s on the front or back of the house.
@@blake102989 I guess you've never poured a porch cap, huh?

Love that!

Definitely a deck.
Definitely a porch
A porch is covered, a deck is uncovered.
Yes exactly. Its that simple.
Sorry to reign on y'alls parade, but you haven't seen a covered deck off the back of a house? Or a uncovered porch off the front?
@@renovationsandmore7142 nope
@@jmert_5859 where tf you live at? the Appalachian trail?
@@jmert_5859 changed my profile pic so you could see a covered deck off the back of a house. Didn't want you to be left out. 👍
Beautiful work, making it a welcoming safe secure home.
Thanks so much!!
In Germany we say "Terrasse"
A dorch or a peck.
I like your thinking!
I could be wrong, but I'd say enclosing made it a porch. Leaving the underside open and accessible would make it a deck.
Love the front deck I would like that for our single wide mobile home.
Do you have a full video of this porch build
Great, until you have to access an area where water is entering the cement.
I call it a “dech” haha looks great bro
No overhang, deck
Really need you guys up here in Buffalo NY to build me a patio
Haha just slightly out of our range!
A beautiful entry way! 😍Great job as always fellas! 👍🏽
Thanks so much!!
How much would a project like that cost
Probably gonna need a $10k bill nowadays. 3 years ago... about half that.
That’s not carpentry that’s artistry.
Thanks so much!!

I’m not sure what part you’re talking about but all of the posts are sitting on concrete footings here
@@THEpremieroutdoor I’m talking about the 6 posts on the front banding, to the right of the steps. Those all have footers?
Those have helical piles!
@@THEpremieroutdoor ok those work too. It’s hard to see from that angle. Keep up the good work!
Wow that came out really nice. Huge update for that house. What railing kits are those? All metal?
All it takes is a good porch to change a house whole appearance
Awesome work!!!!😃💪🏼🤙🏼
Pretty talented guys.
Here, a porch
Clean as always
I’d call that a porch and it looks really nice
Either way, I love it! Well done!🥰
Thanks Marcella!

Agree to disagree. Curb appeal went up and more usable space. Potential buyers would be raving about it. Imo

It’s a front deck a front porch has a overhang?
