Heavy Brit accent and this is your first time listening to Oasis. Time does March on when this is "older music." I imagine this is the same as a Nirvana fan in 1990 thinking about Eddie Cochran or Chuck Berry.
Oasis came from Manchester, UK in the 90's and basically took what The Beatles did in the 60's and 'updated' that sound for the 90's decade w/ heavier guitars and punk rock attitude... They were hailed as the 'second coming of The Beatles' in the UK. Their debut album 'Definitely maybe' became the fastest-selling debut album in 1994 since The Beatles... their second album "(What's the story) Morning Glory?" in 1995 was an even bigger hit, selling 4 million copies in the US alone. The 3rd Oasis album 'Be here now' suffered from drug indulgence and sonic excess but sold as many copies as 'Definitely maybe'... A collection of non-album Oasis songs was released in 1998 as 'The Masterplan'. Sadly, this was the end of the original Oasis line-up, consisting of brothers Liam Gallagher (lead vocals) & Noel Gallagher (vocals and guitar), Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs (guitar), Paul 'Guigsy' McGuigan (bass)... Alan White (drums) replaced original drummer Tony McCarroll in 1995. Bonehead and Guigsy quit Oasis in 1999... Alan White left the band in 2004. In 2000, Oasis released their 4th studio album 'Standing on the shoulder of giants'... and announced new members Gem Archer (guitar) and Andy Bell (bass)... However, subsequent Oasis records like 'Heathen chemistry' (2002)... "Don't believe the truth" (2005) and 'Dig out your soul' (2008) were not as popular... Brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher always had a volatile relationship from the beginning and after one fight too many, Noel Gallagher quit Oasis in 2009 and broke the band up. Noel Gallagher went solo in 2011 w/ his band The High Flying Birds... Liam Gallagher went solo in 2017 after his band Beady Eye ended in 2014... Liam and Noel finally reconciled in 2024 and announced an Oasis reunion tour for 2025. Oasis' rocking tunes I recommend - 'Supersonic' ... "D'you know what I mean" ... 'Morning glory' ... 'Roll with it' ... 'Rock n roll star" Laid-back Oasis songs - 'Wonderwall'... 'Live forever'... 'Stand by me' ... 'Go let it out' ... 'Champagne supernova' 🔥🔥
once you go down the oasis rabbit hole you aint ever getting out, also im jealous i wish i could listen to this song again for the 1st time, this is my favourite song of all time nearly 30yrs later and it still sounds amazing
So this was Noel, the guitarist and song writer of the group. In most Oasis songs you'll hear his brother Liam singing, Live For Ever from the previous album would be a good pick.
Highly recommend checking out some of their live stuff. Live Forever (Live at Maine road) is a great place to start. You can't really go wrong with anything from Maine road or Knebworth gig tbf....BIBLICAL!!! 👌
Do you live under a rock? How could you never heard this song before? I mean I wasn’t born when the Beatles were around but I know most of their music! Lol

@@mofb8331 Yeah but it's played all the time everywhere in the UK still.
They have a string of concerts coming up. You’d be hard pressed not to have heard this before.

Manchester has produced many wonderful bands. It is September 29th and we're top of the table. Damn it feels good to be a Scouser.
Alot of songs like this I would put in the Pop Rock genre.
Oasis always sounded like a 90s version of the Beatles to me.
Both Oasus and Beatles Irish heritage but they font sound anything like each other beatles pop Oasis rock n Roll totally different bro
Oasis sounds nothing like the Beatles. Never understood those comparisons. Only the haircuts were similar.
@TonyMontanaDS me neither, haircuts and they never denied they are huge beatles fans. Just lazy journalism that stuck
Younger brothers 😉😉

You have such beautiful eyes, and are so pretty. I know men aren't meant to say things like that, but there you are. And great reaction too.
A derivative band, heavily influenced by The Beatles, who wrote a handful of very catchy songs.

You look like Liam gallagher daughther Molly gallagher
This Oasisisis's best song
You sound like an English lass.
You never heard of Oasis.
Fck I'm old.

Chill, she's in her 20's and Oasis broke up in 2009 - 15 years ago.
