When selling, I just refuse to use any of these cash apps, one way or the other because I don't trust them with my account info to begin with. I only deal in cash on local sales, and in person. And I still check to make sure the cash isn't counterfeit.
I am so glad you made this video. I was actually nearly a victim of the Zelle scam for the SAME PC that I ended up selling you! Awesome stuff, keep doing what you’re doing dude!
I've been subscribed to you for about a year or so i never paid attention to how many subs you had I would have thought you had over 100k with the UA-cam videos that you put out they are informational and very entertaining and very high-quality love you man:)
In any of the scams I think its also important to see how old the profile is, if they are scamming people often they will get reported and need to make a new account. If the account is years old its less likely but still possible to be a scam
@@ThePcRehab I recently started selling on facebook even though I had to make a new account. I know for sure that a lot of people question my account because it says "joined facebook in 2024". Also, I only got facebook to sell so I pretty much have nothing posted besides listings. The only good news is that I have gotten quite a few ratings which I hope helps me out.
im looking to get into flipping gaming pcs, do you have an hardrive with all the games you benchmark with or do you individually install every game on each flip
Have you heard of the e-transfer scam that certain fake buyers use on FB Marketplace? The scam had happened once to my mid-bro, who was selling a 3D-printer.
I will say that sometimes people see the PC's I have for sale and want me to build a custom one for them. Sometimes they'll say they want to meet in 2 weeks for it. At that point I will ask for a small $25 deposit so that I can make sure 1. they're a serious buyer and 2. If they back out, I have something for taking time to build their specific system. When I ask for a deposit, I leverage the fact that I have 5 stars and lots of reviews on my marketplace profile. I started doing this because a lot of people will either ask you to build a custom system for them or ask you to hold an item and never follow through.
Yeah i think i figured out why they do that. If you look at the clothing (at least on the listings I have seen) they have that item listed locally not for shipping. I think it is to help give the appearance of legitimacy
I was Looking for a cellphone on marketplace. I saw a Samsung galaxy S24 ultra in $550 🤔 or a Samsung fold 6 on $450 🤔... So like you said. Too good to be true.. Does advices are over thousand dollars. And they have it way to cheap. Like you said. You check the info of the seller and they have a weird name. The account is from this year. And very weird profile pictures. So that's why I listen my guts and say I no this is a big scam..
Hey mate. Here in Australia, I got suckered into the mail scam, but they went pretty sophisticated - They did what you said, went as far as taking a pic of the postage (QR code issued by the shipping company) to get the money - small price to pay (parcel bag and the shipping cost) for the rest of the money. None the less, it was a mail scam, and exactly what you said (is there ANY seller rating, when was the ad created, in my case, don't send the rest (I attempted a pay half first method) until the app shows parcel is in the delivery network) etc is all there to prevent. - also recommended to use Paypal as they become a middle-person to hold the money. I think another TL:DR, it's your money, you also have the right to use certain pay method (e.g., paypal) for the money to be sent, to be safe for you too.
Aren't you going to have to start carrying around a testing workbench once enough scammers see your videos and hear that you just say you will bring one :D? Thank you for this info... How do you handle the new/sealed stuff, because there have to be some legit items. Any way to tell if a new sealed item someone is selling is not legit?
Them asking for your phone number is another one with the zelle scam. They say I need your phone number so I can send you the money, no, no, you don't!
@@ThePcRehab i bought a couch on Facebook marketplace and the person was suppose to deliver it and they haven’t brought it. Now I need to file a claim with my bank and I’m crying and stressed out
Deposits aren't always a scam. I get 10 people interested in my computers. And I've had times when I had 2 people say they will meet at the same time. That's when I use deposits

For smaller sales I always want cash, but for pc’s over $700 I will allow Venmo but only at the time of the meetup

It’s crazy out there! Always need to be safe!

Well thank you man! Just doing my best over here! Maybe one day I’ll have 100k. 😁
Thanks for the good info! Appreciate the time you took to explain these! Great vid!
Thank you my dude!
well done young man and well said there's to many of those people on line

Yep, I have a external SSD that is preloaded with all my benchmarking software and games so I can just download the OS and start testing

Oh for sure if you are building something custom for somebody I completely agree with taking a deposit. Need to protect yourself always
I see those shipping scams all the time. For some reason they are always also selling some type of generic clothing.
Yeah i think i figured out why they do that. If you look at the clothing (at least on the listings I have seen) they have that item listed locally not for shipping. I think it is to help give the appearance of legitimacy
I had to start blocking scammers and bots as they are taking up so much Marketplace space
Yeah it’s insane. Making your profile private helps to reduce the spam messages too

Scammers are sneaky and will do anything to take what is yours, so important to stay on top of everything

Bonus scammer points if they are from Doral, FL. Also live in FL.
Very informative!

For real! Never give out your personal info!
Surely Facebook can do more on this right?
They could but they don’t sadly
Good advice. That 3090 isn't $50...you're not that lucky LOL.
Haha nobody is
I think I just got scammed 209 dollars and I’m mad
Oh no! What happened
