Me and my family occasionally go to a very local Brazilian restaurant in Florida called Casa Do Pao, (House of Bread) and they serve coxinha as one of their items on their menu and it is one of my most favorite foods since I was a child. They also have this delicious brigadeiro cake that you have to order in advance because it always sells out so quickly.

So I made heavens chicken the other day and had some leftover dough. I used it to make what I call heavens hot dog. Lol. I flattened the dough, put a slice of processed american cheese, and put a hot dog on top of that. I rolled it up, put it in the freezer for about 30 minutes, breaded it the same way as heavens chicken, and deep fried it. It was actually really good! You should give it a try sometime. Let me know what you think.
haha Actually we do it in Brazil too. the "heaven's chicken" (coxinha) is the original recipe but then we used the same dough with everything. Hot dogs, hamburgers, eggs, just cheese, meat, ham, you name it XD. Glad you liked it. Cheers.

@@myrhev do you have an example of a premix rub where the maker freely shares recipee and it is widely distributed in nationwide grocery store chains? majority of my favorite rubs that I use, created and marketed by pitmasters, aren't found at my local kroger. From what I've gathered, it is extremely difficult (and expensive) getting a rub mass produced, distributed...that I don't think It's worth guga's time. But I could be wrong though.

skin the chicken , for some dishes, it helps the flavour penetrate the meat better. Take the skin and season it with your favourite BBQ rub and fry it under a weight till it's crispy (the weight stops it from curling up). Then you have chicken crackling. Once you have done this once , you will be searching for excuses to skin the chicken!!!
My mom's been doing this similar recipe for ages with leftover turkey from Thanksgiving but using crescent roll dough and baking them into "turkey pillows."
Coxinha is the main street food item in Brazil. This is what you get from morning to evening, if you want it, there will AWAYS be somewhere near that sells it.
Im brazilian and I admit i have never seen nothing like this so It must see from whatever region of brazil guga is from so don't expect to see it on the first bar you go at brazil, but the coxinha you can find it at bars, breakfast restaurants, anyways you guys get the point, I've spent some time in USA and the when I spent 1 year and a half there and came back i couldn't wait i went straight to somewhere with coxinha because i didn't know how to cook it myself

When you make it yourself it is far better than the prepackaged stuff. Try it with pumpkin pie spice or poultry seasoning. Far richer taste.

skin the chicken , for some dishes, it helps the flavour penetrate the meat better. Take the skin and season it with your favourite BBQ rub and fry it under a weight till it's crispy (the weight stops it from curling up). Then you have chicken crackling. Once you have done this once , you will be searching for excuses to skin the chicken!!!
The skin lost all of its crunchness after cooking inside the dough, so it's better to remove it. But anyway, you can eat them apart just fine 😂

I use it like others said 2 or 3 times depending on what your cooking. If it's fish I'd say just once but chicken or plantains 2 or 3 times.

Im brazilian and I admit i have never seen nothing like this so It must see from whatever region of brazil guga is from so don't expect to see it on the first bar you go at brazil, but the coxinha you can find it at bars, breakfast restaurants, anyways you guys get the point, I've spent some time in USA and the when I spent 1 year and a half there and came back i couldn't wait i went straight to somewhere with coxinha because i didn't know how to cook it myself
