Why doesn’t San Martin go for matt bezels? It looks so much better. And they should especially on the bb58 homage. I would like it on the retro dive as well.
I ordered one of these on the last Ali sale and it just got here today, I've been pleased so far. Couldn't get the rivets unscrewed so I just threw it on some brown suede leather and it looks great. Love the vintage sizing of it on my skinny wrist. My bezel has a little bit of wiggle and seems to catch at some point as well but it's not the worst I've had. I always liked the look of the San Martin but never wanted to pay 300 bucks or so for it so I'm glad I found this. People always talk about a summer beater, well this is my fall beater.
Thank you for your review. After C8206&C8207 come to market,we are trying to collect many customer's feel. Because it is really important for us. Try to be better, try to be change better.Thank you so much help us know the problem and good things.
You don't really need to do much to this watch except execute the details better (you also have to fix the bracelet). But if you fixed the bracelet, added more lume and anti-rrflective on the crystal, and maybe bumped up the size of the applied indices and sold it closer to $140, you'd have a winner here! The colors are amazing.
I think that's a very interesting watch. For those who can't afford the San Martin (like me), it's seems to be a very good option. The indices are too small and the hands too thin in my opinion. But I still like it ! Thanks for the great review, Steve. Always a pleasure to watch your videos 👍
Concerning the bezel, I think the hangup is where the spring starts and hooks to the case. Its a nice tidy looking watch. I like the size and that color blue is outstanding. I would look for a new SS steel bracelet and clasp for it. Possibly a nice watch to mod slightly if there are parts in its size. Cool review, Steve. Thanks!
Thanks for the video. I call this watch a 3 footer. Looks amazing at 3 feet...Too many others in this pricepoint to consider this one. Cheers from Atlantic Canada!!!
@@EscapeWheel with my extensive San Martin experience, I'd agree. I am down to 4 SMs in my collection...adding in Borealis, Canister, RLG, etc to make it a bit more rounded out.
@@EscapeWheel well built. I want to make a comment about what I think they should have done better, but I don't want to sway your opinion. It's one of my favorite pieces. Well built. Looks amazing!. I got it in white.
Nice review! I have the san martin sn004 (non limited edition) and one thing I kinda wish san martin did was a matte ceramic or an aluminum bezel insert to make it look more vintage. Do you know if this bezel insert would fit?
I really like this, the San Martin is great but very expensive. Lume doesn't worry me too much, so I think all the serious problems are with the bracelet. I would buy it on rubber and save £28, at £100 it looks great value and if the bezel is off I can reposition it.
I have one and the bracelet is crap. Two days after adjusting the bracelet (and making sure all screws are tight) the watch went flying mode. One of the screws was loose and the bracelet opened, launching the watch above my head. What did I do? I was just scratching my head and this happened!
Always a good idea to keep some blue locktite around for bracelet screws. I didn't have the problem with that watch, but I've had it with other, more expensive, watches.
I have mine on a two piece leather but noticed that the lug holes are pretty close to the edge of the lugs, have you noticed any security issue while wearing it?
This is a bit sad because I see it as a big missed opportunity. That goof with the micro adjust is big enough to make it a no-go for me, but add on the mismatched end links and the bezel misalignment and it just cements that decision. I know if I had bought that exact example they sent you, I’d be feeling major buyers remorse. I really like the design and price point, but the execution just isn’t there. Perhaps on the V2…
Looks like they get their lume from the same supplier as Pagani Design lol. That bezel alignment is tragic as well. Shame because it's a nice looking watch. Great review as always.
All original black please! Be nice to do some better colour options as I feel the particular color combinations, particularly having only gilt and all bezels color matched to dial is different but imho I think majority may want more original color options and at the price I'm sure would be a tiny tweak that would make for a lot more sales and happy customer as I know I'd go for a original black on black or a blue on blue with normal stainless steel polished or black hands in a heart beat. V2 Please!!👌👍🥇
Also take out the rivets and if lucky add a tapper to 16 or 18 if possible as it really adds elegance and comfort also if the bezel writing stays white or neutral and is not matched to the dial and majority Hands to stay brushed or polished and not gilt unless it really makes sense and stays reserved for a certain one or two models at most. Keep it simple and imho and from the response I am certain if those minor adjustments are made this would be a real contender and possible champion at the respective catagory!! If those corrections are made I will 1000% pick one up as well as Many others IMHO!!
If its NH35, that would be awsome!! because it looks like the 28.5mm dials would work in this watch, which is generic enough to take a bunch of dial styles.
If someone around me has my sense of humor must put rivets on my coffin when i die. That much i despise them. Not to mention mercedes hour hand! 😜😂 Still, i like this retro dial and bezel, gilded marks/hands and blue on this steel case are pretty nice. Black dial looks nice too. Size is fine. Price... not! Cheers Steve, thanks for the review, be well mate.
Nice color, nice size. 171eu is too much for what it is. Should be around 71eu. And NO, not this terrible clasp again! You can kill a person using this clasp.
@@EscapeWheel What's more crazy is that they (customs, etc etc) may charge you extra on that! You never know, plus it's kind of hard to sort it out if it happens... Been telling you so Steve, that's the way it is here.

Sounds a lot like mine. Thanks for letting me know your thoughts, the suede strap sounds interesting....may have to throw mine in one, too
Love this dial especially on those NATOS. Waiting for a v2 where they fix the rivet for the micro adjustment
I don't know how they missed that after the San Martin fiasco...lol.

Nice watch but I had Orient Kamasu for 184 Euro on Amazon recently, so they must be mad charging 171 Euro for that.

is this like the same size as the skx013? if yes, then this might be the thing i'm looking for

The San Martin is polished as well, so they were probably copying them. It's my least favorite part of my SN004. Great review as always bro!
Thanks, Dan. What polishing are you talking about? 😂
Just ordered on Ali express Nov sale, got this for £87 including the customs charge, so happy with that 😀

Looks like a decent option overall, not entirely sure I would pick one up. But seems like a good value for the retro diver type watch.
Indeed a good value when purchased on sale.
Looks gud value shame they didnt do a 3 6 9 dial variant like San Martin offered. Cheers

Rolex submariner from the 50's.
