- Pluto chases a kitten through a window and right into Mickey's lap. Mickey scolds him, and goes off to wash the kitten. Pluto falls asleep in front of the fire, and dreams of a hell ruled by cats where he is put on trial for all his crimes against cats and, of course, found guilty.

Same thing happened to our dog when we got her as a puppy a year ago. Even Scooby-Doo has been chasing cats too. And in the end he'd got punished by a couple of cat creatures. We're still working on training our dog. I hope she'll get better someday.

Because cartoons weren't aimed at kids. I don't know why it started being the case, but cartoons were big production shorts. Nothing more nothing less. People started equating them with kids later for some reason.
Same reason they put the Night at Bald Mountain sequence in Fantasia, I guess...
