To save time and make the beginning less complicated, do your first set of cow hitches before you join the two colors together. Working one color at a time, fold your cord in half slip the ends through the buckle then the loop. Then you can join your two colors. So much easier than trying to feed the cord one section at a time.
About 1 foot for every inch in end product length. If you want a 7 inch bracelet, you need 7 feet of paracord. Measure your dog's neck loosely because the end project is thick.
