A beautiful representation of partnership, both in life and in climbing. Strive for 50-50, but support heavily when it's the other person's dream close to being realized. Love for both of you. Congrats on the climb Emily.
I'm so glad that you guys have started this channel. It's great to see top-shelf climbing and climbing life so raw directly from the actual climbers and not "overly produced" like much of what's out there. And it's also great to hear you guys getting nervous stepping over the edge too! Isn't it weird how going up over the edge is just a completely different mindset than stepping off it? Finally, it's great hearing Adrian talking about the compromise of supporting one another in one another's adventures. You guys are good people and make a great fit. Hang onto that! Great work and keep it coming!
Thanks for documenting this! It’s hard enough being on the face of El Cap let alone trying to get footage at the same time. It’s so great being able to share those moments w you. Wonder team work and wonderful send in the end. Thank you so much for including us on your journey 💓
Really cool seeing El cap navigation on video, wish there were more videos explaining how it works.
I was thinking how cool would a uncut or like livestream of this
I am so happy that pizza is such a big part of your life
That commentary towards the end about the rappel was sick! Learning stuff
Makes me feel better knowing even pros get nervous when you have to rap over the edge and fully trust the rope for the first time.
@@alyssaschroeder6524 I was talking about when they stepped on to the actual face, not at the start of the simul rap. Emily says "So scary. Were safe right?". That's how I feel every time too lol
Nice films! Loved the original golden gate movie.. one of the best.
Great to have your films back! Looking forward to watching the process and the send :)
Even knowing the eventual outcome this is a compelling and inspiring journey to follow 👍🙏
Such a pleasure to watch! Thanks!!
amazing congrats Emily! love seeing the behind of the scenes
Love the description of the technical abseil. Some great shots. Its fascinating to get this insight into the journey. 👌🏼
these videos are so good!!!! high production and yet intimate, thanks so much for producing quality content. keep churning out some gold please
Adrian is such a teacher its so funny. what a talented hardworking dude. Congrats Emily on the feat!
Thank you for explaining what you guys are doing while you do it. I’m not a rock climber but I love your channel because I find it interesting. And it also inspires me to find my version of El Cap. Found you via Joe Rogan. Stay safe!
Yes you guys are my favorite 💛
Loooooved this video!! Please post more of you guys climbing! this gopro helmet kinda thing! Amazing! 😻😻
My favorite female climber. Such an inspiration and makes me push my own climbing further. Thank you for being such an inspiration. Cheers from Austria :)
The edge! The SUCK! I think going over on El Cap would do my head in completely. Arriving at the 'mushroom' outcrop at the top of our local 250m wall was enough to have me sitting down real quick as waves of nausea and dizziness overwhelmed me (yeah we still rapped - gotta equip a sport line somehow right?), not sure I'd manage at all with 1000m! Ooooh Errrr!
always remember knots in the end of the rope !!
Love the 3 aeropresses in the shot at @1:45.
Would love to go ice climbing with you guys!!
Nice vid!
Fantastic video! When is the next Himalayan trip, and will you climb together?
she was great on JRE!
do I count 3 aeropresses?
We go to the valley every year for a week and it isn't long enough....probably the most beautiful place on earth in my opinoin.
I know being envious is bad but I envy people who do this type of stuff.
Just find something that you love to do. Find something that satisfies you
Why do you have three aero presses??!
Why didn’t I see this earlier!!
4:40 Behind You !! 7:32 uh,... No !
Do you guys hike up from the valley every time you rap from the top? That's a hard hike by itself!
We do!!
DangerStikTV I was curious about this as well. Do you take the trail up Yosemite falls or is there another route up for climbers? That’s insanely impressive to do in a couple house if so
@@brianhall8458 no its called the East Ledges approach - it's for climbers. It takes about 2-3 hours.
Wasn't that interested till you mentioned flapjacks!
So impressive and inspiring!! Where is your pale pink tank top from?? It's amazing ahah
Can we get a tour of Sketchy Betty?
Where does Cat stay when you guys are climbing? Im always concerned about the dog in every movie hahaha
She sleeps in the van and friends come play with her!
@@DangerStikTV she’s such a lucky girl!
This is great you should get some copyright free music so you can monetise the video 👌
God had blessed u
3 AEROPRESSES!!!!??? PLEASE EXPLAIN???
Like #398 from 🇨🇦! Everest next?
already done ;)
Life is good when you have THREE aeropresses
It always shocks me with the lack of rope protection in Yosemite climbing videos.
Rope protection?
@@connordobsonclimb to protect your rope from cutting on sharp edges
@@stevewillson9218 i often use rope protectors when rappelling/jumaring fixed lines. but any other time it doesnt make much sense.
@@DangerStikTV Yeah fair enough :)
What does the doggo do all day while you’re on the wall?
She hangs out in the van a bit (she loves napping) and also thankfully we often have lots of friends in the valley who come visit and take her out to play!
There's a kennel by the horse stables I kept my dog at while on half dome for 3 days. I thought about him a lot toward the end of that climb. I get anxious when I'm away from him.
Is the dog locked 🔒 in the van all day
no! she does hang there a bit which she seems to like because she loves to sleep. but we also have friends come let her out and play with her :)
Hay my name is Emily Harrington to
Can't work out if this is a climbing vid or a food ad.
Where do they park? That's the real story....film that. Contentious up there for a spot to sleep these days.
We actually managed to get campsites this year! Otherwise parking at friends’ houses or driving out of the park....
Hiw do you have 3 failed attempts at free soloing ?
i was free climbing. not free soloing.
@@DangerStikTV okay sorry misunderstood.
Isn't one aeropress enough? 😂
no
I always love the beauty of climbing but I say “what the fuck are they doing” every time man
I have a million questions on how u just live out of a van and climb a rock all day
Google search “Alex Honnold”
10:09 that rope drag would scare the shit out of me
She looks amazing in that little black dress
Yikes 😱
She reminds me of that Seinfeld episode “Man Hands” cause , damn she got MAN HANDS😂😂
Or just the hands of a woman who’s been using them for 23 years to climb things.....
Nah those are man hands lol
@@DangerStikTV yeah those are man hands, don’t be in denial.
It's called el capitan. The more people just omit letters and make up words for things the worse society gets. You cant axe a question. You can't cut things on. Skeet is not a word. Put some effort into life.
complaining about such trivial stuff is the opposite of putting effort into life
It's interesting how Emily's physique is super taut but Adrian is just skinny. She's obviously a serious athlete by appearance, but he looks like he could be a couch potato.
Where is this guy from his accent is like a speech impediment
He's from the UK but moved to the US when he was young.
wait....is she going to try and do what alex did..im not xpert on this but is she attempting to do it without ropes...if so. she will never, ever, ever succeed ..
It’s a different route entirely than Alex did. But yes I used ropes.
People that free solo have a hundred pounds of brain damage
You don't seem to even know what "free climbing" is (you should google it), so don't talk about brain damage ... or brain ...
@@masterpropper2485 See how your comment just stopped abruptly.....Brain damage!
@@cowboymouth6429 Ok, I'll explain it to you, as we climbers have to do over and over again: "FREE CLIMBING" is CLIMBING ON A ROPE only using the features of the rock.
What you mean is "free soloing". Wow, it's so annoying to have to explain it time and time again.
@@masterpropper2485 How do l tell someone that has brain damage, that they have brain damage? I guess if I could explain brain damage you wouldn't have brain damage. But you have brain damage.
@@cowboymouth6429 Ah, now you learned something from me and changed the wording of your comment.
You're welcome.
The only problem now is, that your original comment doesn't fit to this video, because this video has nothing to do with "free soloing" ;-)
So you might as well delete it.
That would of been a great feat a quarter of a century ago. Yawn.
Says the guy who has obviously no clue about climbing ...
@@masterpropper2485 I grew up climbing and in 2010 free solo'd Old Baldy in Kimberley Ontario, Canada.
@@masterpropper2485 I've done urban climbing as well free soloing apartment buildings schools etc, so long as its real brick, not brick facade.
@@masterpropper2485 I also do it for the fun, and the challenge. Hang me from a rope, ill climb anything below 5.10. Give me great holds not crimps like old baldy, ill climb it like a ladder.
@@BOOSETO No offense, but climbs below 5.10 are kid's routes. 5.10a-d are beginner level.
If you think you know sth about climbing then you should know that free climbing El Cap in a day is an incredible feat.
And no woman ever freed the nails hard Golden Gate, and now she even did it in a day!
And she is only the 4th person, male or female, to free the Golden Gate.
This is why it is a great feat today, and would have been unbelievable 25 years ago.
25 years ago this route didn't even exist.
The Hubers put this one up in 2000, that is 20 years ago.
