I feel like you're dramatically underestimating how much modifying Tamsin to symmetrical damage would change things. Yes, there's still plenty of healing available to Warlocks, and it's still a game changing effect, but at least they can't just just vomit their hand of self damage cards onto the field completely willy-nilly.
zeddy thought nerfing concierge to 4 wont do anything to concierge druid because "they always have spare mana left anyway" , basically any nerf that isnt as blunt as a sledgehammer is too subtle for him, he always complains about nerfs being too light and then the decks end up dead because surprise, you dont need to vindictively butcher a deck for it to become less/non viable
Ya I think making it symetrical is the perfect change. You only get two health stones, and you usually need to use at least 1 of them just to stay alive with demon seed as is. He is drastically underselling how strong the immune on your own turn effect part of the demon seed is.
So, Shaman is going from 62% win rate to 61. Druid still has unlimited ramp and Sonya turns are getting pushed back one turn. Complete incompetence from the devs as usual
they are changing tamsin to deal damage to both sides, which is why they are touching dark glare as well. with the damage being to both sides it means dark glare is still useful after completing the quest line and could potentially cause a otk style effect with refreshing mana at the end of the game after the tamsin is played.
All the hand may be too much. I think 2 backstab at 3 mana (3/3) and removing the "undamaged minon only" text. Would make it a nice card, not too amazing, and is still remaining too situational.
Thanks for the headsup Zeddy. Decided to play Demon Seed for the first time ever just now so that I could get all of the healthstone and Mass Production achievements done. Took 1 game. Apparently it's the high skill cap of the deck is what drives everyone to play it.
Not saying darkglare doesn't deserve a nerf, but what really pushed darkglare over the line is healthstone. Without healthstone healing for 20+ each time, there's a window to smorc the deck down. That said, the demonseed definatly needs a nerf. If a deck can't kill within 2 turns of Tamsin being played, it's usually game over. A demonseed nerf + healthstone ban is what i would have wanted. Depending on how they nerf the demon seed, a darkglare nerf and keeping healthstone might not slow the deck down fast enough for slower equally degenerate decks to beat it (looking at you hostage mage)

At this point i would change demon seed, that it basicallyis as hard to complete, as it was on release, but i would change the reward to: Whenever you take damage on your turn, your opponent does too.
I think its a pretty good nerf though. The other ramp cards are overpriced technically but getting to 10 mana on 6 mana crystals is just absurd with early ramp. I could imagine that they don‘t increase the cost but actually cut off a whole mana crystal, because it is very versatile with its second effect.
@Loathe777 making it only get out two crystal elementals would kinda make it not useful, you kinda want that third so you can fill up with restoration station, have the clusters fill up three and then have one spot for yogg or kiljaeden that turn
QL Warlock is the only deck I autoconcede sometimes while my Legendclimb with bonusstars. It's just a dumb, unfun experience. Because of the QL all the games feel similar. I was so bored with the deck lately that I couldn't even look at them while they went about their stupid quest steps. So it's good to see they do more serious nerfs on it.
If they don't fix arena, I'm still not playing. It's in such a bad state because of DK, there is just no point in playing except fi you draft mage or DK.
i main rogue and i get that sonya is annoying and frustrating but really rogue has struggled without these mad apm decks ever since whizbangs. i dont know rogue will cope with this and the buff to talgath will no nothing the cards effect is useless. I really hate the direction with rogue of being scammy instead of feeling fair to play as how swingy the class is. Hope some changes come with the next core set.
If you watched the World Championship games last weekend, the Rogue games are the most fun to watch. From its popularity despite bad win rate, I believe many people are enjoying it.
the problem is that rogue as a class is designed to be less straightforward and simple in its playstyle than most other classes, this ends up leading to a lot of rogue decks being high APM/skill expression, which evidently everyone hates and so there is nothing left to play unless they print some really good aggro cards for it

i do think that with the success of Starship Rogue now being as good as peak power Excavate, the class actually has a real option outside of Sonya (and Swarthy Swordshiner to a lesser extent), so it's probably the best timing they've ever had for removing the load-bearing busted card

The HS team should start using some common sense when designing cards if yo uwant to give a card a powerful affect that can decide the game right then and there at least make the player have to EARN it's ability similar to how ou had to for example play a certain amount of dragons to play Zarini. HS is a NON interactive game so you have to actually give an opponent a CHANCE to answer what the other player is doing and it is a SIMPLE fix give certain powerful cards a sickness turn meaning the oppoenent gets to actually do something about it on their turn or better yet gives us a STACK and counter cards.

I am confused on why Sonya is being nerfed. From what I understand, each class has its own special abilities. With Druid you have ramp, with Mage you have spells. With rogue you have the ability to bounce cards back to your hand. To you playing rogue is just a cheat session with no response from your side. Yet looking at the meta, you consistently see rogue being on the bottom of the meta. Now I can see your response being that at high legend rogue is a problem. But this shows that rogue takes much skill in order for it to perform well. So explain to me why nerfing one of premiere cards in the rogue class is so impactful if the class is consistently at the bottom or near it?
Because there's no skill involved in endlessly cycling Griftah with Breakdance and Shadowstep, grabbing 800 "deal 6 damage" amulets... which ALSO trigger Sonya (since they're 1-mana) to make 800 more 0-mana copies of "deal 6 damage"... a protozoan with a limp pseudopod could reliably play Sonya/Griftah Rogue
Its about how well you pilot the deck. For example druid is pretty simple. Ramp twice survive throw Dungar. You basically play a card per turn. Not much to think about. With rogue from turn 5 you draw/discover/play at least 10 cards. This can overwhelm the player if he doesn't know what/when/why to play or pick on every situation. That on the other hand overwhelms the enemy if you know what to do. That translates in higher ranks people are better with this limitless deck. The winrates in hsreplay are not the whole truth. This might have 30% in Plat and 65 or 70% in high legend.
Pfft. Wanting Demon Seed nerfed while all these other win Turn 5/6 decks, noninteractable combo decks, or unlimited freeze mage is around is definitely a choice.

MTG has existed for over 20 years and been critiqued by pros the entire time the STACK is a MUST have in a player versus player game but this HS team I assume can't do it becuase of copyright but as I said there is a way around it just have played cards go through a sickness turn give the opponent a chance to react and not just let Rogue play 30+ mana worth of cards on turn 6.Give me access to counter cards a chance to remove card going through a sickness phase. In other words fix your crummy game design.
One nerf i would have liked to see with zilliax is one that i have seen on Reddit where someone recommended what if we change the perfect module and the virus module to be a battlecry. so the modules say: Perfect Module: Battlecry: Gain divine, rush, taunt and livesteal. Virus Module: Battlecry: Gain poisonous, reborn and elusive. Would make it so the Reborned copy would only be a vanilla 4 attack 1 Health minion without effects and you can't resummon Zilliax over and over again with Hydrationstation because Zilliax wouldn't be originally a Taunt Minion. PLUS, if Doctor Boom, rest in Peace or Sasquack would revive it OR if you summon it with chemical spill, it wouldn't have its powerful effects and instead just be a vanilla minion. so its still maybe a toxic or atleast strong card when played but you can't cheat it out so easily and even if. once its over you (For the most part) dont have a problem with it again. I am in general kinda disliking Ziliax as a card which also maybe comes from the fact that the last three matches i lost only to Dungar druid but even without it its Toxic as hell. But thats just a recommendation i have for the Unkilliax version. Sorry for any grammer or spelling mistake. english is not my mother language so i may havesome mistakes in my comments.
literally none of the top 12~ decks right now even use perfect or virus when they use Ziliax, its just straight up either Pylon + Ticking or Power + Haywire, whats with all the pearl clutching over modules that dont even lead to great decks to begin with?
they did, and they still suck ass, they spent a whole patch basically trying to get starship rogue to be good and failed, and now they have the briliant idea of nerfing other bad rogue decks as well

No, it really doesn't. In fact, the deck is fairly mediocre in diamond / legend because decks like Pirate Demon Hunter, Shadow Priest, etc, just completely shit on it 99.99% of the time.
the 2 mana, draw 2, with spell damage and a 2/3 minion not being nerfed... crazy. make it either, a 1/1, no spell damage or only draws one spell. easy. also uh·thereal ;)
Disappointed the mystery egg nerf is sticking around. The deck was already slow and RNG based(love it when my first 2-4 egg procs are sasquak even tho I have all other targets in deck leading me to have no real plays) and now the deck is even slower as now typically you have to wait an extra turn to summon anything from your egg. I haven’t even seen anyone else even attempt to play egg hunter on ladder since it’s nerf. Also where is the buff to gorm?
The egg nerf is deserved Not having to deal with literally infinite free 5/2’s with rush that clear everything and build boards simultaneously is good for the game.
Honestly as someone who played quite a lot of DewmonSeed, I think changing the reward to ALSO damage the enemy might make the deck a lot weaker in most instances... that combined with a darkglare nerf might be what we need
Zeddy - seriously brother... Oracle isn't that OP. Really the only deck that can abuse it are the crazy combo Rogue decks... and if they hit Sonya hard enough (take away the ability to use it on spells) and Oracle just becomes a standard "good" all-around neutral card. Unkilliax seriously needs the triple keyword Modules to become Choose One on Battlecry - six keyword immortal minions are absolutely bonkers.

Literally the only "different" DH archetype I can recall there being was when they did the whole minion-less build... token spam and face damage from deck/hand... which was still a weird sort of aggro build... DH has had a handful of control/tempo types of cards (like the one that burns 2 mana crystals of your opponent for a turn)... but, those were really just support to ensure your aggro build had board control for the kill.

Any patch where Rogue suffers and is made unplayable is a good one. They will make anything unfun or use broken combos to just steal wins. Bit of a long time coming. Demon Seed going is just a start I hope, as the deck needs to just be gutted to the point of unplayability.

3 or 4 mana doesn't make any difference for sonya, because shadow step make it costs 1 too. making it 4 mana isn't the best nerf anyway (to me at least). The best ways are either removing the spell damage or making it draw 1. By making this maybe it could also become a 2 costs minion. Btw sonya is getting nerfed we don't know how, yet, but sonya surely doesn't influence the fact that oracle can't cost 4 mana.

Ethereal Oracle dodged the nerf again due to new expansion card privileges…

Nerfing Crystal Cluster makes no sense, it's not the card that is overpowered, it's the card it enables.
Just do dungar to ten and make crystal cluster 7
And the other cards that let you ramp into it.

A good change for Sonya would be to reduce her cost to 3 mana, however the cards she generates can no longer cost 0, they must cost 1

Its about how well you pilot the deck. For example druid is pretty simple. Ramp twice survive throw Dungar. You basically play a card per turn. Not much to think about. With rogue from turn 5 you draw/discover/play at least 10 cards. This can overwhelm the player if he doesn't know what/when/why to play or pick on every situation. That on the other hand overwhelms the enemy if you know what to do. That translates in higher ranks people are better with this limitless deck. The winrates in hsreplay are not the whole truth. This might have 30% in Plat and 65 or 70% in high legend.

MTG has existed for over 20 years and been critiqued by pros the entire time the STACK is a MUST have in a player versus player game but this HS team I assume can't do it becuase of copyright but as I said there is a way around it just have played cards go through a sickness turn give the opponent a chance to react and not just let Rogue play 30+ mana worth of cards on turn 6.Give me access to counter cards a chance to remove card going through a sickness phase.
In other words fix your crummy game design.

One nerf i would have liked to see with zilliax is one that i have seen on Reddit where someone recommended what if we change the perfect module and the virus module to be a battlecry. so the modules say:
Perfect Module: Battlecry: Gain divine, rush, taunt and livesteal.
Virus Module: Battlecry: Gain poisonous, reborn and elusive.
Would make it so the Reborned copy would only be a vanilla 4 attack 1 Health minion without effects and you can't resummon Zilliax over and over again with Hydrationstation because Zilliax wouldn't be originally a Taunt Minion. PLUS, if Doctor Boom, rest in Peace or Sasquack would revive it OR if you summon it with chemical spill, it wouldn't have its powerful effects and instead just be a vanilla minion. so its still maybe a toxic or atleast strong card when played but you can't cheat it out so easily and even if. once its over you (For the most part) dont have a problem with it again.
I am in general kinda disliking Ziliax as a card which also maybe comes from the fact that the last three matches i lost only to Dungar druid but even without it its Toxic as hell. But thats just a recommendation i have for the Unkilliax version.

No, it really doesn't. In fact, the deck is fairly mediocre in diamond / legend because decks like Pirate Demon Hunter, Shadow Priest, etc, just completely shit on it 99.99% of the time.

Disappointed the mystery egg nerf is sticking around. The deck was already slow and RNG based(love it when my first 2-4 egg procs are sasquak even tho I have all other targets in deck leading me to have no real plays) and now the deck is even slower as now typically you have to wait an extra turn to summon anything from your egg. I haven’t even seen anyone else even attempt to play egg hunter on ladder since it’s nerf. Also where is the buff to gorm?

Zeddy - seriously brother... Oracle isn't that OP. Really the only deck that can abuse it are the crazy combo Rogue decks... and if they hit Sonya hard enough (take away the ability to use it on spells) and Oracle just becomes a standard "good" all-around neutral card.
Unkilliax seriously needs the triple keyword Modules to become Choose One on Battlecry - six keyword immortal minions are absolutely bonkers.

I don't understand why the nerfs keep coming. The issue at the heart of gameplay is that decks are going to continue to be copied as long as the internet exists.

Crystal cluster allows druid to just ramp for 3 turns and then drop dungar, it getting a nerf makes sense even if it isn’t the most problematic card

Literally the only "different" DH archetype I can recall there being was when they did the whole minion-less build... token spam and face damage from deck/hand... which was still a weird sort of aggro build... DH has had a handful of control/tempo types of cards (like the one that burns 2 mana crystals of your opponent for a turn)... but, those were really just support to ensure your aggro build had board control for the kill.
Once per game needs to be added to many battlecry minions and x per turn needs to be added to many persistent effects

Any patch where Rogue suffers and is made unplayable is a good one. They will make anything unfun or use broken combos to just steal wins. Bit of a long time coming. Demon Seed going is just a start I hope, as the deck needs to just be gutted to the point of unplayability.

making it 4 mana isn't the best nerf anyway (to me at least). The best ways are either removing the spell damage or making it draw 1. By making this maybe it could also become a 2 costs minion.
