As good as he is, and he is my favourite pop saxophonist by far, you cannot say such a thing. He plays beautifully but at the same time, much harder sections in sax music requiring more skill do exist in the Jazz and R&B sectors. Search up Bebop jazz sax, or john Coltrane to see where skill is. Though, pop does require a different set of skill, in which he is closed to unrivalled from what I have seen

I don't play Sax so there's probably a proper word for it but I love the almost distorted sound when a note is really forced out.

When it's used tastefully to add tonal color, it sounds great... otherwise it is distracting if overused.

He’s growling. But I get what your saying. His sound at times lets it’s self go. It sounds good but I’m more concerned with how he’s shaking his head the entire time. I’m not sure if that’s like some sort of secret technique but I’ve never done that
