Rather than judge I listen to the residents and see where their coming from. Sometimes all a youth really need is someone to listen to them. The book that your talking about Red Badge of Courage we have at our facility.
Family your story is very powerful. I'm a former knuckle head too. I'm 42 and I've been a single dad of and on for 20 years. I loved running the streets chasing money,three of my 4 sons were born while i was in the game. I asked myself how long can this last. No jail time,my door never got kicked in, but i was fanagled once with my kids for 9 zips but that didn't stop me,but one night as i was watching my boys sleep i started feeling guilty and i realized that i was being selfish. All of this work I've done to possibly be taken from these three little boys that i love so much. I sat them down and told them that i quit i have to find another way to provide for them. I didn't know what or how because ive always been in the street but i eventually found a way. Nothing's worth leaving my babies i don't give a f**k. It's been a wild journey since I've thrown those money making 📱 into the lake but im sticking my word and focusing on the real money my kids and me being there to coach them through this life.
