This song was inspired by a few people in my life, family and friends, who have struggled with anxiety, toxic longterm relationships, living with jobs they hate for years too long, and so on - myself and my own experiences included. Sometimes we can struggle with something for so long, we give up on ourselves. It’s like the amount of time we’ve struggled becomes evidence that we’ll keep struggling, and I think that’s a lie. In this song’s hook I sing, “I’ve got a new war with old wrongs.” Meaning - it’s never too late to get back up. If I can manage a day of freedom after a lifetime of living under the thumb of my lesser self, that day is a victory, and every day afterward, regardless of how many days I may have left - are worth the time it took to get there. A dark past does not have to be evidence of a dark future.
This speaks to my soul. That last phrase is gold. It is what I believe and what I want to prove to myself. WE can overcome. WE can become. WE can inspire. WE can be everything we choose to be.

Your voice has this kind of... Raw, hypnotic quality to it, and mixed with killer beats and electronic music, it does something incredible to my brain. I'm legit hooked. Keep being you, Kai! This motivated me to stop thinking of what others expect of me & find a path that i want to go down. Since then ive applied to better jobs with healthy atmospheres & better pay for my own sake rather than staying at a job that eats away at me everyday because i dont want to let my boss down. I want to learn something new and gain new experiences & not let my past hold me back from doing so. Im no longer going to hesitate in life, im gona go for broke ! aint nothing in my way and i plan to keep it that way !
