Re Living forever, I think I've cracked it. Has the Ship of Theseus approach been considered, with every cell in the human body being replaced gradually with an improved bioengineered super-cell over time? That way there'd never be two of me, and I'd never not be me. Let's get on that :)
Essentially the only "feasible way", with respect to the extent of human knowledge of consciousness. Of course with MY limitations as a human being, I may be missing something. lol.
@@MichiganPeatMoss Every cell in our bodies are replaced every 7 years or so. We just need to figure out how to biogenetical improve the new cells our bodies create
This reminds me a lot of the game SOMA, amazing story. Also, by the end, when humanity achieves "everything", it reminds me a bit of the Eldar from warhammer 40k, a cautionary tale of sorts.
What is with living forever? I don't want to live forever in this place of pain and suffering (and I have had a fairly easy life of upper middle class family with a loving family). This place even though looks beautiful, it is eat or be eaten for all forms of life (plants, animals, insect, humans, all). People are born blind, disabled, they fall, burn, loose limb, loved ones, etc. and on top of the "natural" cruilty, people add more pain and suffering like wars. So as I said, it is an eat or be eaten place. No thank you!
We humans are basically made of the same element but our mind, intellect, ego, nature is different which comes with our birth, it comes from saying that if we upload our body in computer and it becomes aware of it It means that the atoms of our body also carry the memory along with it, so from where did that memory come from our birth, this is a deep question
🔹We are human BEINGS, not human things. 🔹Aaaaand we are the AUTHORS of our dreams, our dreams are not floating anonymous stories. 🔹Sorry Descarte, that disembodied feeling is called disassociation, basically a trauma coping mechanism. 🔹Our brains are NOT us. The seat of our consciousness is in our heart.
Fascinating as always but can you factor in the idea that we each have different self-states. So are you the same self when at a funeral of a loved one as you are when at an amusement park? You have the same 86 billion neurons etc but you don’t make a conscious decision to be sad or happy. I hope you can enlighten me as you always do.
You need to have you and the digital copy intimately, causally connected, to where it exists as the maxima in phi, instead of two distinct maxima, as the brain ages and dies, the phi complex is increasing localized in the simulation.
Very interesting! Well, if we trust CDC, they have announced (at least since 2018 that I can remember) that life expectancy is declining and I believe that seeing all the diabetics, heart issues, cancers because medical system has made zero progress in curing (not covering symptoms of ) the chronic diseases. I guess the insurance companies just want to maximize and legitimate their exuberant prices!

ua-cam.com/video/d0ujcti0JMM/v-deo.htmlsi=QWnEgGVhBmgdVLGC How about a deep dive into Dr Persinger's video ? Dr. Michael Persinger’s research explores how the Earth's magnetic field influences human consciousness and brain communication
Just imagine having lost your body (it has or is in a process of decomposing or is incinerated) and being in a simulation and the power goes out! ha ha ha
"We dont know if the THEORY of computational equivalence is correct..." Than it isn't a theory. It isn't even a viable scientific hypothesis if you don't have the three types of variables available in order to conduct an experiment to test your hypothesis. This video (as are most of the videos from this channel) is basically the equivalent of two college stoners talking after having smoked a fat bowl...."Dude, what if C A T actually spelled dog?" This is what happens when you bastardize the scientific method by replacing experiment with maths and models.

2024: Nice letter to the future. Great work as always.

Mind boggling, thank you!
If we do live in a simulated reality, why does it have so many limits? Love this podcast!
To be more real😅
If you hand a monkey an AK 47, he will shoot it.
your videos and books are fascinating, thank you for your work

A mathematical representation of an experience is not the experience itself.
Consciousness cannot be copied. it is an experience. An experience cannot be copied, It is private.
As Standford uni scientist.. did you go to Gary Nolan's Sol Foundation conference at all? I believe he opened it up to Stanford scientists?

I do use my ID not my conscience and its always turned correct 😊

You are rambling
You’d die of boredom…
