It took quite a while to build, but I would say this segment is really one of the best parts of Autobahn in northern Germany from an infrastructural point of view
@@EuropeanRoadsI agree. I was there in spring 2023 and it was a nightmare. There aren’t real alternative routes so you have to queue whether you like it or not.
4:40 True. I made a road trip this summer in Germany, and with the limited section, the road works, the heavy traffic, and probably the fact speeding is a little old fashioned, I actually find that there were almost the same % of people drivng at 150-160Km/h than in France, where it's not allowed.
It's so annoying that many people drive in the middle lane constantly (we call them Mittelspurschleicher xD). In Germany, it's mandatory to drive on the right lane when possible.
Autobahn is truly the king of the motorways in Europe. Its just sad to see all the graffiti everywhere. When I drove Kiel-Basel last summer (A7 and A5) it was graffiti painted almost in everywhere in bridges, intersections, noise protection walls etc. I saw some personal trying to remove it. But I guess its lot of work for nothing.
Know this quite well as regular visits to neumunster I see you had one of my colleagues drive you..... it is said that after a meeting in Hamburg he is the last to leave but when the others get back to neumunster he has set there on his second coffee 😂😂
There seemed to be no service stations on that stretch of motorway. Is that common in Germany or just in that area. Havent driven there for a very long time.
There is a service area at 4:15 and another one at 12:05 In addition, there are some rest areas without services. Also, some exits have an 'Autohof', which are truck stops but cars can also go there.

I agree. A1 Bremen - Hamburg is also pretty good since it was expanded to six lanes. Hamburg itself is an endless construction site though...

Autobahn A7 war ich nach kassel gefahren
I get asleep in those straight roads without curves and no mountains! 😴God forbids that I'd ever get a driving license! 😔
Some of those slow drivers are really dangerous on a high speed autobahn. Saving money on petrol no doubt.
The one at 13:00 was tricky, I underestimated that he or she was driving 80 or less.
Hamburg is Biggest north city in Germany
