Dear Miss Boone I got hooked on Blacklist a couple of years back (more or less) and binged the first six seasons off Netflix; and watched the rest of the series leading up to tonight. What I can say is I have enjoyed watching your show very much seeing your character on this wild and at times intense adventure that you have been on. You and Mr. Spader are absolutely phenomenal together in your scenes together. I know over the years you received a lot of grief and unpleasant comments from a lot of people, I’m very sorry about that. Nobody should have to go through anything like that. So wherever life takes you next I just want to wish you the best and I look forward to whatever else you’ll be in. -Best of luck C.
Are you kidding me? Megan decided to skip 8 straight episodes this season because she thought she deserved the same pay as Spader and was taking a stand. This is one of her first tv roles and he's been in the business for decades and has won two Emmys. I feel so badly for the cast that Megan decided she was more important than them or the show.

IN SHOCK right now. Liz could not kill Red yet Townshend's last henchman killed her. I thought the series was ending with her killing Red and taking his empire as he was dying.It would have been a fitting end. Now there is a season 9? Where could it possibly go with Liz no longer there? Killing a main character is such a risky thing to do.
The only reason my wife and I had watched the show for 8 seasons was the relationship between Liz and Red. The rest of the stories being so bad, unrealistic is just not worth our time anymore. Done with the show.

If you rewatch from the beginning knowing that red is the mother, it actually holds up shockingly well. It looks like they put a lot of nuance into it from the beginning. The subtlety is there and consistent
Megan's smile is so damn amazing. She is my absolute favorite on the show. I could watch her smile and laugh all day. She is smiling but the spark in her eyes is missing, she is evidently sad. The show betrayed her. The show ended at S8, everything after that is just a spinoff. The actual show is over.
Plus they kept flashing pictures of young Katarina holding Megan during the fire. She did die with a smile on her face but then she was visualizing her memories.
As much as we all want Liz to be alive, I believe she is gone, her life flashed before her in her last couple of breaths, those flashes reveal she is gone...breaks my heart...
The writing for Liz has been atrocious the last few seasons... nothing more than a bratty character who's relentless search for the truth has been one of self destruction and annoyance. While you may argue that Red was never up front or 100% honest with her, there was a process in motion that was meant to keep her safe and she basically ripped the bandage off and threw a temper-tantrum when not getting what she wanted to hear. The result was an unstable character and really just one big annoyance to the fans who tuned in to see Spader, but were ruined by her "antics" or attempts to say "GOTCHA"
I'm not usually one to dump on a show, especially one I watch but... We found the whole Red keeping secrets from Liz interminably annoying since she always finds out and it's never a big deal that she did. My wife likes watching Spader which is the only reason we kept watching. The rest of the actors are fine but Liz's character is OK and the all rest are just functional. Glen and Mr Kaplan were fun and I was sorry to see Navabi go.
I see sadness in her eyes when she says that this is the best show to work on and how's great the crew. I think Megan Boone knew about the hate towards her character and she decided to leave the show. She is decently young actress and tying hateful character to her isn't great idea in the long perspective.
It’s never gonna happen now but I just want the season 9 finale to have Liz waiting for Red when’s it’s all over and they disappear into the sunset. Liz is such a strong female character, I agree a lot of the writing for her was just...facepalm, but after surviving 8 seasons of people trying to kill her, killing her off the show was anticlimactic, and disappointing.
A lot of actors leave good shows thinking they will get more famous. But in the end they piss off so many fans that people passively ignore anything else they do. McLean Stevenson left Mash and never got anything. Remember your stardom is based on what the fans think of you.

What a terrible way to end her character. I watched from episode 1 till now and this entire time, I watched to see her reaction. They just straight up killed her? One of those what the fuck endings…I just hope it was a set up to keep her and her daughter safe. Otherwise this is nearly edging Dexter becoming a Lumberjack. Disappointing. I love James Spader and he was my initial reason for watching but uh, the entire emotion behind the reaction is taken away and I honestly couldn’t care to know who he is. If he’s her mom that’s my lumberjack ending. Lame.
i feel conflicted right now. on one side i feel happy for megan and wish her good luck on her career as she is a great actor. on the other hand leaving when the WHOLE show is based around this one character is kinda hard on the writers as it is clear they did not plan for this. its good that the whole crew and her didn’t leave with bad feelings
Assuming she ends up in a coma, Liz could still know who Red really is if someone like Dr. Krilov connects Red's mind to hers, even if we don't know the truth at the same time. I'm not giving up just yet.

I agree... I really got the feeling that she wasn't happy/comfortable in this interview at all! But she's probably not allowed to say anything, bet they have contracts for that... @@mattiestarr2210 Totally agree. I did not like “Liz Keen” the past several seasons, but the writers are responsible for us disliking the character. You can only dislike a character for ‘so long’ before the dislike crosses over to the actor….the “who is Red to Liz?” lasted far to long (like Negan grinding Rick’s face in it for 2+ seasons). MB did a great job with what she was given. Good luck to her.

She didn't deserve the hate she got from The Blacklist Fandom. Thankfully, it appears she has moved on and is living her best life and doing great things in the world. #TeamMegan. #TeamLizKeen. Her character was written fine and was always intended to go dark. She inherited the "criminal" side from Red because she's his daughter. This was foreshadowed in the pilot "Think Like a criminal". She gets hate that is excused if Red did it. Red murders those who betray him. But the minute Liz snaps and wants to get revenge on Red... because Red killed the woman she believed to be her mother in front of her. The fandom turns on her. Double standards. In the end, Liz can't kill Red. Why? because she's a good person. "I can't do it" I don't want to. "That's alright" - Red. Konets ep 8x22,
They were pretty much on a roll up until season 7. 8 felt a bit like a wrung out towel, carried along by good acting of the main actors. Boone will leave a gap. Guess they will wind it down with 9. Wonder what Spader does next.
This show was recommended to me by someone I worked with who said it was on Netflix, so I binge-watched 7 seasons- by that time I had to find out what network it was on, so I went on to watch Season 8 on NBC. Absolutely fascinating show- So is Season 9 going to be Reddington’s ‘big reveal’ about his true identity?

Darn it, I'll miss her in the show. In fact I don't think I'll watch it since she's gone. I think she wasn't happy in the work environment or just uncomfortable, because no one leaves a good show for no good reason. All her interviews, it's obvious to me she's just trying to get by and be respectful and move on. Most women been in her shoes, somehow I feel I know why she's leaving. Also the writers did a number on her character to write her off. No facts here, just projection. And some one told me "Projection is necessary and desirable for self-fulfillment. Otherwise man is overwhelmed by his loneliness and separation and negated by the very burden of his own life. "
Totally gonna miss her . Last episode was going so well , but at end it left me so disheartened. Show is not going to be same without her.

She wanted to leave, and I think the lack of scenes with Diego towards the end had something to do with it, was strange not see'ing ressler.

I think a rewatch of the show holds up even better than the first time if you know red is her mother. I suggest giving it a shot

i feel conflicted right now. on one side i feel happy for megan and wish her good luck on her career as she is a great actor. on the other hand leaving when the WHOLE show is based around this one character is kinda hard on the writers as it is clear they did not plan for this. its good that the whole crew and her didn’t leave with bad feelings

Assuming she ends up in a coma, Liz could still know who Red really is if someone like Dr. Krilov connects Red's mind to hers, even if we don't know the truth at the same time. I'm not giving up just yet.
Her behavior in leaving the show, doesn't match the answers she is giving. As if she is saying...I am existing inside the ideal work situation, with the best of people. So, of course I have to get out of here. I so want to know what is not being said here.
I agree... I really got the feeling that she wasn't happy/comfortable in this interview at all! But she's probably not allowed to say anything, bet they have contracts for that... I don't think it had anything to do with the fellow actors though, because they had that party at her house and in the photos they all seem to care a lot about each other🧡... I guess we'll never really know what exactly happened😞

@@mattiestarr2210 Totally agree. I did not like “Liz Keen” the past several seasons, but the writers are responsible for us disliking the character. You can only dislike a character for ‘so long’ before the dislike crosses over to the actor….the “who is Red to Liz?” lasted far to long (like Negan grinding Rick’s face in it for 2+ seasons).

I'd been following you since the start of the show 8 years back. What now store for us of the The Blacklist w/o you? Good things for you comes to an end leaving The Blacklist and starts a new chapter.
She didn't deserve the hate she got from The Blacklist Fandom. Thankfully, it appears she has moved on and is living her best life and doing great things in the world. #TeamMegan. #TeamLizKeen. Her character was written fine and was always intended to go dark. She inherited the "criminal" side from Red because she's his daughter. This was foreshadowed in the pilot "Think Like a criminal". She gets hate that is excused if Red did it. Red murders those who betray him. But the minute Liz snaps and wants to get revenge on Red... because Red killed the woman she believed to be her mother in front of her. The fandom turns on her. Double standards. In the end, Liz can't kill Red. Why? because she's a good person. "I can't do it" I don't want to. "That's alright" - Red.

They were pretty much on a roll up until season 7. 8 felt a bit like a wrung out towel, carried along by good acting of the main actors. Boone will leave a gap. Guess they will wind it down with 9. Wonder what Spader does next.

This show was recommended to me by someone I worked with who said it was on Netflix, so I binge-watched 7 seasons- by that time I had to find out what network it was on, so I went on to watch Season 8 on NBC. Absolutely fascinating show- So is Season 9 going to be Reddington’s ‘big reveal’ about his true identity?
