From 1989 -2013 Indian team management, dropped and selected several players, But one name remains constant for those 24 years - Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar..
first of all thanks a ton for uploading the video. excellent batting by ss das. I always loved watching sadagopan Ramesh bat, his timing was awesome. the way he hit waqar and wasim in his debut series was superb
Great guy Shiv, had the great pleasure of opening the batting with him for Newton le Willows, Liverpool Competition. He was good at counting to 6. It was around the time he Captained India A, he later went on to Pro for Liverpool. Those BDM bats are AMAZING!!!!
SSD looks good like a very disciplined batsman. I think opening batsmen were always under pressure than over opening bowlers, and so hardly got any chance to free their hands those times. Even Sachin, Sourav have changed positions to 3-6, and this guy that time occupying their positions isn’t a simple task really. BCCI should have tried SSD in No. 5/6 positions, or in last 10 slog overs to see his hands free batting style. Anyway, thanks to the uploaded; I prefer to see more disciplined batting styles than over unorthodox ones.
Ramesh ,jaffer, ss Das were class player but problem was strike rate and can't give big opening partnership in foreign tour... Sehwag cames in South Africa tour and England series ... smack 195 run in Australia and triple century in Pakistan tour that totally throw them test squad
This was the last match for Sadagoppan Ramesh & in less than years time.....SS Das also had his career come into a short circuit. What a sad end to a great opening test partnership for team India.... which was the highlight of Ganguly Dada's captaincy in his early years.
Sadagoppan Ramesh was actually selected in the Indian test team for the Australia tour 2003 and also played a warm up game..yes however no test match for him after this game..i also believe this was the last test match of Venkatesh Prasad as well..
This was last match for Ramesh. He was out for beauty of Murali. Das played a fabulous innings here however he was short of confidence when he was facing Australia and South Africa. He failed against westindies miserably in 2002.In England he scored 250 in warmup match but Dada preferred Bangar over him for third test..slowly he was ignored..If I I am not mistaken he led Indian A, teamcin England in 2003..His average was impressive with 43 but rest of the batsman scored runs more than him. Against India A vs Newzealand he didn't do well and Akash Chopra scored hundred..That brought an end to his test career. He was forgotten later.
Sehwag and Das should have opened for long term. Dada couldn't persist with Das, bit let down. Das didn't have persistence like what Laxman and Dravid had when they were dropped during initial years. Das was unlucky, he had weakness against seam and Swing conditions. Das was better batsman than Akash Chopra. Das was good fielder for spinners
Problem with SS Das is he's not aggressive like Rahul Dravid who's the 2nd most aggressive batsman of his era after Brian Lara. His batting style created a new style of batting known as aggressive defending. He's the one who showed you can be aggressive even with defence.
His first shot was just like sachin tendulkar he was talented as well only problem with him was he was not confident player like sachin or sehwag otherwise his backfoot shot was treat to watch
Pehla plus was a cricket channel broadcasted for two years between 2001/2. It was mainly for Middle East only like Saudi Arabia, UAE etc... . It was not meant to be seen in other parts of the world. Pehla was a package you could subscribe to for a monthly fees to view Asian entertainment like movies, songs, sports in the mid-east region. It required a dish and a receiver box. Telling you this cause I happened to be a viewer and own one of the these years back.
Why Indian player were not attacking that time except sachin , they all use to play like carrying sort inferiority complex , look how yuvraj, sehwag, gambhir, dhoni, raina, played their cricket and now we have Kohli , Rohit and others.
DAS's inability to pick up lenght quickly resulted his downfall. In subcontinent where the bounce is low you can get away doing mistakes but in overseas you will become a walking wicket. DAS, GANDHI, RAMESH (no foot work player), MSK PRASAD, SAMEER DIGHE and SANJAY BANGAR were the few lucky people to play test cricket. AKASH CHOPRA as an opener was a bit ahead but he also couldn't survive.

The way SSD walks forward to nullify the spin of Muralidharan and hit boundaries is phenomenal.
SS Das stood out in away test series of 2001 against Zimbabwe where he was Man of d series
Even in his last Odi against New Zealand, he was the highest scorer...
first of all thanks a ton for uploading the video. excellent batting by ss das. I always loved watching sadagopan Ramesh bat, his timing was awesome. the way he hit waqar and wasim in his debut series was superb
S ramesh, vey elegant, should have played more games for India
Two good openers ! Especially Shiv Shunder Das who had a solid and organised technique
After Virender Sewage came in Team India, Team Management Never thought about SS Das
Its sehwag not sewage(means shit)😝😝😝
Sehwag was an aggresive opening batsmam ...what team india was lacking for many years
@@sandeepmadhu5197 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀 luckily he didn't say drainage.
Sewage lol

I'm from the same city in which he was born
I bowled at him in the Liverpool league.
BDM AMAZER BATS

Prithvi Shaw type of Class on SS Das 👌
Beta it should be Reverse...😌😌😌

He was to be part of Indias side against Kiwis in 2003 but Aakash Chopra was selected against him Sadly :(
He got selected for Australia tour in 2003 but he was selected only for warm up matches. Dada reverted back to sehwag and Chopra jodi
This was last test for Prasad too
Ramesh played two many matches for his skills. He was a liability in the team then.He was in love with the ball,so never hit it hard.
SS Das got some style of Sachin, problem with him was his strike rate and failure to score runs in away games.
Partially wrong. He survived a SA tour but failed miserably in WI. That was in 2002.
He was technically right but short of confidence player
Yes.
You are right.
Sachin's copy
STOP insulting tendulkar comparing him to nobody like Das and Ramesha. He is GOD for us, and u dont compare God to anyone!
@@IITianProudIndian God for you, not for everyone brother.
Ss.Das. Bowlers found him wanting with full length deliveries which was his weakness. He was very good of his backfoot.
Hero of Odisha
We r proud of u

SS Das who never got the second chance in the team.. .
Ramesh timing shots is super

S S das is great
His first shot was just like sachin tendulkar he was talented as well only problem with him was he was not confident player like sachin or sehwag otherwise his backfoot shot was treat to watch
ss das was a class player .
SS Das paid a heavy price for belongs to a poor state like Odisha,The then team management destroyed his career

Fat better than Akash Chopra
s ramesh 19 test ,1367 runs,36.50 avg. quiet good player not bad.
And you are one 🤡 commenting without any knowledge. Baat toh aise bata rha jaise India ka coach ho🤡
S ramesh is waste of time. They gave him enough opportunities to work.
Both are Worst batsman in team india.....
Gambir and sehwag the worstest players
Gambhir and sehwag worst test player
sadgopan Ramesh is very good player
SS Das should have got more opportunities
